Abstract

The synergy between Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Islamic finance is a strategic urgency in answering the challenges of financial literacy of Muslims in the modern era. Islamic Religious Education not only aims to form morals and religious understanding alone, but also has great potential in building economic awareness based on Islamic values. More than 50% of students do not understand the principles of Islamic economics, this picture is obtained from the results of the final semester exam, so a deep understanding synergy is needed in this regard. This study aims to examine the synergy between Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and increasing literacy and access to Islamic finance for students majoring in economics at STIE Kusuma Negara. The background of this study is the low understanding of students regarding the principles of Islamic finance, even though they come from economics study programs. Islamic Religious Education is considered to have a strategic role in forming religious awareness and sustainable Islamic economic attitudes. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and case study method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the integration of Islamic finance material in the PAI curriculum and a contextual learning approach that emphasizes Islamic practices and values can increase student literacy towards the concept of Islamic finance. With a success rate of learning outcomes reaching 95%, this approach has proven effective while offering an educational model that is adaptive to the development of the times and the needs of contemporary Muslim society

Abstract

This article explores the educational reform ideas of Tuan Guru Ibrahim Al-Khalidy, a key figure in the development of Islamic education in Lombok. As the founder of the Al-Ishlahuddiny Islamic Boarding School, TGH Ibrahim Al-Khalidy has successfully combined traditional pesantren education with modern educational systems. This reform was designed to preserve the pesantren as a center for the production of ulama while adapting to the challenges of modernization and contemporary Islamic education management. Using a qualitative research methodology with a field research approach, data was gathered through observation, documentation, and interviews. The findings reveal that TGH Ibrahim Al-Khalidy's educational reform is deeply rooted in the concept of tauhid and the integration of knowledge, which is prominently reflected in his work Tuhfatu al-Shibyan Fii Aqo`idil Iman. His approach advocates for a holistic Islamic education that encompasses both religious and general knowledge, fostering a balanced development of students. The research further demonstrates that his educational reform has made significant contributions to the social and cultural development of the community, bridging the gap between traditional Islamic teachings and contemporary educational needs.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of differentiated learning in the Pancasila education subject at “Sekolah Penggerak” (driving schools), analyze the challenges, and identify the efforts made to optimize its implementation using the indicators of content, process, product, and learning environment differentiation, focusing on students’ learning styles. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The Informants in this study consisted of 30 individuals selected through purposive sampling. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results show that the implementation of learning differentiation based on learning styles at SMAN 9 Padang and SMAN 10 Padang has been carried out, although not yet fully optimal due to shortcomings in planning and execution. In planning through teaching modules, teachers only created general guidelines. For content differentiation, teachers have provided audio-visual materials such as illustrated narrative texts, videos, and PowerPoint presentations. Teachers have applied various teaching methods, but the student worksheets (LKPD) remain uniform. Regarding product differentiation, teachers have not created varied outputs. In terms of learning environment, the arrangement of desks and chairs is sometimes inconsistent with learning activities, affecting student focus.  Pancasila Education teachers at the two “Sekolah Penggerak” have made various efforts to address these challenges. In content, teachers apply classroom differentiation strategies, use movement-themed ice breakers, and attend digital training.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyze the practice of strategic planning in Islamic education at two Muhammadiyah elementary schools, namely SD Muhammadiyah Terpadu Sendang Agung and SD Muhammadiyah Bandar Jaya. The background of this research departs from the importance of institutional strategies in responding to the challenges of Islamic education in the midst of social, cultural, and national education policy changes. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques. The results of the study show that both schools have formulated a vision and mission that reflects Islamic values through a participatory process. The main challenges faced include limited resources, the influence of external values, and a weak understanding of strategic management. The implementation of the strategy is carried out through various religious programs and strengthening governance, but its effectiveness depends on leadership and stakeholder involvement. The evaluation of strategies typically takes an administrative approach and lacks long-term evaluative tools. This research emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive strategic evaluation system and the repositioning of policies based on data and Islamic values. These findings make a theoretical and practical contribution to the development of Islamic education management at the primary school level.

Abstract

This study explores the differences in Subjective Well-Being (SWB) among early childhood education (ECE) teachers in Indonesia and Malaysia. A total of 200 teacher of ECE participated. Statistical tests indicated that the data from both groups significantly deviated from a normal distribution. As a result, the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test was applied to compare the SWB scores, revealing a significant difference between the two countries (p = 0.015). Teachers in Malaysia reported higher SWB, suggesting that cultural and educational policies may influence well-being. Regression analysis assessed the impact of work tenure and gender on SWB, but neither factor was found to be significant. Notably, years of service negatively affected SWB, indicating that longer tenure is associated with lower well-being in both countries. These results highlight the importance of considering contextual factors such as social support and work-life balance in addressing teacher well-being. This study addresses a significant research gap by providing cross-national evidence on subjective well-being (SWB) among early childhood education (ECE) teachers in Southeast Asia, this research offers novel insights into how national education systems and socio-cultural environments influence teacher well-being. By comparing Indonesia and Malaysia, the study highlights previously unexplored regional differences and underscores the need for context-sensitive policy interventions across diverse educational settings.

Abstract

This study addresses the urgent concern in contemporary education regarding the weakening of student character due to the influence of external cultures and the growing tide of modernity that misaligns with Islamic values. In this context, the role of the murabbi becomes pivotal. The aim of this research is to analyze how teachers at SD Persatuan Islam (Persis) Karawang implement their role as murabbi in shaping students’ character based on Islamic educational philosophy. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving homeroom teachers, Islamic religious education teachers, principals, and purposively selected students. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model and verified through triangulation and credibility measures. The findings reveal that teachers consistently integrate Islamic values into the learning process and school life through exemplary conduct, value habituation, and spiritual mentoring. In conclusion, the holistic implementation of the murabbi role proves effective in fostering Islamic character among students and offers a replicable model for Islamic-based character education at the elementary level. This study contributes by offering a conceptual framework of the murabbi role rooted in Islamic educational philosophy and grounded in empirical findings from elementary school settings.

Abstract

Social-emotional development in early childhood is crucial for building interpersonal skills and emotional regulation. However, classroom activities often do not provide sufficient opportunities for children to effectively develop social skills. This study aims to explore the impact of outing class activities on the social-emotional development of early childhood children at TK IT Sakinah Sungai Rumbai. A qualitative approach was used with direct observations and interviews with teachers and the principal. The findings show that outing class activities have a positive impact on the development of self-awareness, responsibility, and prosocial behavior in children. Children showed improvement in emotion regulation, conflict resolution, and peer interactions. Although some negative emotions, such as impatience and conflicts, were observed, these activities provided opportunities for children to learn how to manage these challenges. This study recommends that outing class activities be an integral part of early childhood education curricula to support comprehensive social-emotional development.
