Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine and recognize the achievement of improving students' creative thinking abilities through the application of demonstration learning methods on the subject of changes in the nature of objects in Ciampel Elementary School. Specifically, the targets to be achieved are as follows: 1) To determine the level of creative thinking of grade V students of SDN Ciampel before the demonstration method is conducted. 2) To determine the level of creative thinking of the fifth grade students of Ciampel Elementary School after the demonstration method was conducted. 3) To find out whether the application of the demonstration method can improve the creative thinking of class V students of SDN Ciampel. The method used is qualitative using classroom action research (CAR). The subject of the research was the fifth grade students with 30 students.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of the Realistic Mathematics Education model and the results of the evaluation of Realistic Mathematic Education in learning material building spaces in grade 1 students of SDIT Al-Fajar Bandung. The research method applied in this study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, namely research that provides an analysis of improving the understanding of mathematical concepts in building material with the existing procedures in applying the RME model, namely the preparation, opening, learning, and final stages. The evaluation of the RME model is seen from student activities based on aspects of oral activities and sees students who are enthusiastic and active in participating in learning activities, do not disturb friends while studying, dare to come to the front of the class and work on questions calmly and not in a hurry. The results showed that the application of the RME learning model on building materials could increase student learning activities and improve student learning outcomes. It can be seen from the results of the pretest students who achieved learning completeness by 27% then experienced an increase in the post-test results to 77%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the scenario and implementation of learning science concept understanding for fourth-grade elementary school students on the material of sound propagation using the cooperative model type investigation group. observation, it turns out that the understanding of the fourth-grade science concept in elementary school is still low. This is the case the researcher uses the cooperative model type group investigation as a solution to improve students' understanding of science concepts to be better. The research method used by researchers is descriptive qualitative method, this is so the researcher can explain the efforts made by the teacher in improving the quality of learning, especially in the material of sound propagation. The subjects in this study were students of grade IV in a state school in West Bandung Regency, which amounted to 30 students, consisting of 15 male students and 15 female students. Based on the results obtained during the implementation of the learning process, the results of the increase in the average score of the science concept understanding test results were 100%. It can be concluded that the results of the study indicate that there is a significant increase.

Abstract

The ability to solve mathematical problems is very important in learning mathematics and needs to be developed from students at the elementary school level. This study aims to examine the scenarios and implementation of mathematics learning in the mathematical problem solving abilities of elementary school students in class III using the Snowball Throwing learning model, the response of teachers and elementary school students in grade III to mathematics learning in problem solving skills using the Snowball Throwing learning model, and the difficulties difficulties experienced by third grade elementary school students in solving mathematical problem solving problems. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with the subject of this research is the third grade students at SDIT Uswatun Hasanah Cimahi. The instruments used in the study were tests, questionnaires, interview guidelines, and observation sheets. The conclusions of this research are: 1) In carrying out mathematics learning activities in fractional material, snowball throwing learning model is very suitable to be implemented. 2) The teacher gives a very good impression of the learning carried out by the researcher. 3) The students' difficulties in this problem solving indicator are students having to think many times when taking the evaluation test.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low level of students understanding the concept of the material well. This study aims to obtain a description of the achievement and improvement of poetry reading comprehension skills for fourth-grade elementary school students using the Think Pair Share (TPS) model. The research method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. In this study, the population was taken as grade IV SD students. As for the samples of this study were students of the Mutiara Bunda Elementary School in Bandung City class 4 Surfing, totaling 20 people. The instrument used in this study was a short questionnaire containing 5 questions of poetry text. Data analysis was carried out by qualitative descriptive. The data is taken from the results of observations, interviews, written tests, and filling out questionnaires. In the calculation of test instruments and data processing using Microsoft Excel and SPSS 22 programs. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the students' reading comprehension ability to read poetry was achieved using the Think Pair Share model. Students find it easier to understand the meaning and vocabulary in poetry as well as train their confidence by expressing opinions and discussing with their partners in small groups.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not the hand on activity method affected the ability of elementary students to understand the mathematical concept of multiplication material. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent pretest-postest design. The population in this study were all class II SD Plus Al - Aitaam Bandung for the 2019/2020 academic year with a sample of 112 students. The sampling technique was taken by using a purposive sampling technique. In this study, two classes were used as the research sample and two classes were chosen to be used as research with the category A-class (II Utsman) as the experimental class and class B (II Hafsoh) as the control class. Based on the results of the ANOVA test, it turns out that in the learning class using the hands-on activity method with the lecture method the sig value = 0.040, and the value is smaller than α = 0.05, which means that H1 is accepted, H0 is rejected. Because Ha is accepted, the hypothesis which states that there are differences in the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who learn to use hands-on activity with the lecture method is accepted. It can be concluded that there are differences in the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who learn using the hands-on activity method with students who learn using the lecture method.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the learning of natural science concept understanding in material objects of third grade elementary school students using demonstration methods. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were students of class III SDN Girimulya with a total of 32 students consisting of 15 male students and 17 female students. The instruments used were teacher and student observation sheets, questions about understanding the concept of science, as well as teacher and student questionnaires. The results showed that there was an increase in the quality of learning when the demonstration method was applied. This is indicated by the average score on teacher observations of 88, the average score on student observations of 87, the percentage increase from the Pre-Test to Post-Test scores of 6.66%, and the percentage of the teacher's questionnaire score of 80%, and the average percentage of students' questionnaire scores was 80%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi dengan rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman di sekolah dasar. Metode yang  digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan bentuk Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian ialah siswa kelas V SDN Cibabat Mandiri 1 Kota Cimahi sedangkan sampel yang terpilih sebanyak 28 siswa dengan teknik convenience. Hasil penelitian adalah membandingkan bahwa keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelompok A lebih baik dari pada kelompok B. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Learning Start With A Question (LSQ) dan Media Majalah Online berpengaruh terhadap meningkatnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low ability of creative thinking in elementary schools. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative research method. The research population was the fifth-grade students of SDN 2 Lembang, Lembang, West Bandung Regency. while the selected sample was 37 students with convenience technique. The result of this research was increasing students' creative thinking ability. The research concluded that the Number Heads Together learning model affected an increase in creative thinking ability, especially in science study.

Abstract

Penelitian ini disusun yang didasari oleh kurangnya pemahaman murid terhadap apa yang dipelajari dengan mempraktikkan sendiri materi pelajaran yang didapatnya agar lebih bermakna. Tujuan riset ilmiah ini adalah untuk menelaah peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif murid SD kelas IV menggunakan model contextual teaching and learning pada mata pelajaran IPA. Metode yang digunakan pada riset ilmiah ini adalah metode eksperimen. Populasi pada riset ini adalah murid kelas IV di salah satu Sekolah Dasar Kota Cimahi. Sampel yang dipakai adalah murid kelas IV B untuk kelas percobaan dan kelas IV D untuk kelas kontrol sebagai objek penelitian, jumlah murid dari masing-masing kelas terdiri atas 30 murid. Instrumen peneltian yang digunakan adalah lembar soal tes uraian untuk masing-masing kelas. Hasil pretest dan posttest dianalisis menggunakan program SPSS for windows, hasil dari pengujian penelitian menunjukkan bahwa menggunakan model contextual teaching and learning memiliki perbedaan lebih tinggi, dibandingkan dengan murid yang menggunakan model konvensional secara signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif IPA murid. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan terhadap perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kreatif IPA murid dengan menggunakan model contextual teaching and learning dengan model konvensional. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, disarankan kepada pendidik untuk menggunakan model contextual teaching and learning sebagai salah satu pilihan model pada mata pelajaran IPA, khususnya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif murid.
