Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning process and outcomes of Mathematics in grade VI at SDN 169/II Lubuk Telau, this is evidenced by the results of initial observations conducted by researchers from 10 students only 40.00% obtained scores in the achievement criteria. The cause is the learning process is still centered on the teacher and the learning model used by the teacher is not varied. The purpose of the research is to improve the learning process and outcomes of Mathematics using the Student Teams Achievement Division model.The research method used in this study is classroom action research, the subjects of this study were 10 sixth grade students of SDN 169/II Lubuk Telau. In the implementation of the research conducted by the researcher consisted of 2 cycles. Each cycle consisted of 2 meetings, each meeting consisting of 4 stages, namely planning, implementation/action, observation/observation, and reflection. This research was conducted in the first semester of the 2025 academic year at SDN 169/II Lubuk Telau. The research data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the use of the Student Teams Achievement Division model can improve the process and results of Mathematics learning in class VI of SDN 169/II Lubuk Telau. This can be seen from the increase in educator observations in cycle I with an average percentage of 83.25% and in cycle II with an average percentage of 94.4% with the Very Good category. The increase in the student learning process, in cycle I reached 62.5% categorized as Fairly Good and in cycle II increased to 82.5% with the Good category. The increase in student learning outcomes in cycle I reached 40% categorized as Very Poor and cycle II reached 80% with the Good category.

Abstract

Model pembelajaran Jigsaw berbantuan media puzzle adalah salah satu strategi pembelajaran kooperatif yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan dan kerja sama peserta didik dalam proses belajar dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran puzzle guna membangun semangat peserta didik untuk mencoba memecahkan masalah, karena media tersebut menarik dan mengajak peserta didik untuk menyesuaikan potongan gambar puzzle. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw berbantuan media puzzle terhadap hasil belajar Matematika peserta didik kelas IV di SD Negeri 101/II Muara Bungo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pre-test dan post-test control group design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas IV A sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw berbantuan media puzzle dan kelas IV B sebagai kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Data hasil belajar matematika dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji-t menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar matematika peserta didik yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw berbantuan media puzzle dengan peserta didik yang diajar menggunakan metode konvensional. Hasil penelitian diperoleh Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,01<0,05 yang berarti ada pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw berbantuan media puzzle terhadap hasil belajar Matematika peserta didik Kelas IV di SD Negeri 101/II Muara Bungo.

Abstract

General Background: Mathematics is a compulsory subject in Indonesian primary education as it develops logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, yet many students face difficulties due to monotonous teaching approaches. Specific Background: Preliminary observations in grade III of SDN 11/II Teluk Pandak revealed only 30.43% of students achieved the minimum mastery criteria, largely due to low engagement and ineffective instructional strategies. Knowledge Gap: While previous studies have shown the benefits of Example Non-Example models and flannel board media separately, limited research has examined their combined application in elementary mathematics learning. Aims: This study aimed to improve students’ mathematics learning processes and outcomes by integrating the Example Non-Example model with flannel graph media. Results: Using classroom action research across two cycles, findings demonstrated significant improvement, with student mastery increasing from 30.43% (pre-cycle) to 56.52% (cycle I) and 91.30% (cycle II). Novelty: The strategic integration of visual-conceptual learning through Example Non-Example with interactive flannel media offers a more engaging and contextualized learning experience. Implications: These findings suggest that combining innovative instructional models with concrete media can foster active participation, enhance conceptual understanding, and serve as a practical strategy for improving mathematics education in elementary schools.Highlight : Model Example Non-Example with flannel graph improved mathematics learning outcomes. Student achievement increased significantly from cycle I to cycle II. Learning became more active, engaging, and effective. Abstract

General Background: Mathematics plays a fundamental role in developing logical and systematic thinking skills for elementary students, yet its abstract nature often leads to low engagement and achievement. Specific Background: At SDN 64/II Perumnas 1, third-grade students showed limited understanding of fractions due to lecture-dominated teaching and minimal use of concrete media. Knowledge Gap: While previous studies highlight the benefits of interactive approaches, structured applications of the demonstration method in teaching fractions within the Indonesian primary school context remain underexplored. Aims: This study aimed to improve both the learning process and outcomes in mathematics by applying the demonstration method with concrete, participatory experiences. Results: Conducted as Classroom Action Research in two cycles with 12 students, the findings revealed improvements in teacher performance (from 76.50% to 100%), student engagement (from 0% to 58.33% categorized as “Very Good”), and learning achievement (from 41.66% to 83.33% mastery). Novelty: The study demonstrates that structured use of demonstration—supported by tangible media and active student participation—can effectively transform abstract concepts into meaningful learning experiences within the framework of the Merdeka Curriculum. Implications: These findings suggest that demonstration-based learning enhances conceptual understanding and student participation, providing a practical strategy for primary educators to strengthen mathematics instruction.Highlight : Demonstration method improved learning process and outcomes in fractions. Student engagement shifted from passive to active participation. Learning outcomes increased from 41.66% to 83.33%. Abstract

General Background: Student motivation and learning outcomes in mathematics at the elementary level remain a persistent challenge. Specific Background: At SDN 05/II Air Gemuruh, Grade IV students demonstrated low engagement and achievement in mathematical sentences and calculations due to monotonous, teacher-centered instruction. Knowledge Gap: Few studies have systematically examined interactive strategies such as the Index Card Match model in improving both the learning process and outcomes in mathematics. Aims: This study aimed to enhance mathematics learning motivation and achievement by implementing the Index Card Match model through Classroom Action Research (CAR). Results: Conducted in two cycles with 20 students, findings revealed significant improvements in teaching quality, student engagement, and mastery. Teacher performance scores rose from 61.11% to 88.89%, the number of students in the “very good” category increased from 20% to 45%, and mastery learning outcomes improved from 55% to 80%. Novelty: This research provides empirical evidence of the Index Card Match model’s effectiveness in fostering active participation and sustained motivation in mathematics learning. Implications: The findings suggest that integrating interactive models can transform learning environments, making mathematics more engaging and effective for primary school students. Highlights: Improved teacher performance and student engagement. Significant increase in mastery of mathematics. Index Card Match proven effective in primary education. Abstract

Background: Low mathematics achievement among early-grade students is often linked to passive learning and limited use of interactive teaching media. Specific Background: Traditional approaches in SDN 109/II Dusun Mangis failed to engage students effectively in mathematical concept comprehension. Knowledge Gap: Few studies have examined the use of the Picture and Picture model in mathematics for first graders, despite its success in science and language subjects. Aim: This study aimed to improve students’ mathematics learning process and outcomes through the implementation of the Picture and Picture cooperative model. Results: Classroom Action Research was conducted in two cycles with planning, action, observation, and reflection phases. Results showed an increase in teacher performance (from sufficient to very good), higher student activeness (from low to highly active), and a significant rise in students meeting the minimum mastery criteria (from 64.29% in Cycle I to 92.86% in Cycle II). Novelty: This research provides empirical evidence for the use of Picture and Picture in mathematics at the early grade level, contributing to differentiated learning strategies. Implications: The findings encourage teachers to integrate visual and cooperative learning models to support active participation and improved learning outcomes in primary education. Abstract

This research aims to improve the quality of the mathematics learning process and outcomes of grade III students of SDN 174/II Apung Ilir through the application of the Make a Match learning model assisted by congklak media. The method used is Class Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles, with each cycle including the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection is carried out through learning outcome tests, student activity observation sheets, and documentation. The results showed a significant increase in both indicators measured. The average score of student learning outcomes increased from 75.00 in the first cycle to 83.18 in the second cycle, with a learning completeness rate of 90.91%. Student activities also showed development, from the category of "quite active" in cycle I to "very active" in cycle II. These findings are in line with the results of previous research showing that the application of an interactive learning model with the support of contextual media is able to increase motivation, engagement, and understanding of mathematical concepts. Therefore, the Make a Match model assisted by congklak media is recommended as an alternative to mathematics learning strategies in elementary schools to encourage active participation and improve students' academic achievement.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of mathematics in class IV. SD N 65 / II river bastard. The purpose of this research is to describe the improvement of mathematics learning processes and outcomes using the method Course Review Horay (CRH) in class IV. SD N 65 / II river bangsat pelepat sub-district”. This research is a type of classroom action research conducted with two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings. each cycle consists of planning,implementing, observing, and reflecting. The results of data analysis show that the use of the method Course Review Horay (CRH) can improve the process and learning outcomes of mathematics class students class IV. SD N 65 / II river bangsat. details of the results of teacher observations in the first cycle with an average teacher activity of 96.99%. In the second cycle the average teacher activity was the same at 96.99% with a very good category. The results of observations of students in the first cycle data analysis of student activity of students amounted to 62.94% with good criteria, increased to 86.35% in the second cycle with very good criteria. In the first cycle obtained an average value of student learning outcomes of 83.63% increased to 96.36% in the second cycle. while the classical completeness in the first cycle of 86.36% increased to 95.45% in the second cycle. It was concluded that the use of the method Course Review Horay (CRH) can improve the process and learning outcomes of mathematics.

Abstract

This study was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in third-grade students at Muhammadiyah Elementary School in Muara Bungo. The background of the study was the low reading-aloud ability of students, with an average initial score of 68, still below the school's minimum completion standard of 75. To address this problem, the Picture and Picture learning model was used with the aim of improving students' reading-aloud skills, particularly on weather topics. The study was conducted in two cycles, each encompassing planning, action, observation, and reflection. Sixteen students participated. Data collected consisted of qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data were obtained through observations of the model's implementation and students' reading-aloud activities. Quantitative data came from the results of students' reading-aloud tests. The results showed that the Picture and Picture model was implemented effectively. Students' reading-aloud test scores improved from cycle I to cycle II. In cycle I, student completion was 56%, increasing to 87% in cycle II, exceeding the completion standard. This improvement demonstrates that the Picture and Picture model is effective in improving students' reading aloud abilities. This model has also been shown to increase student engagement and focus during the learning process, thus helping them achieve optimal reading aloud skills.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the problem of low student engagement and limited achievement levels in Science, Environment, and Social Studies (IPAS) learning. To address this issue, the research aims to enhance learning processes and outcomes by implementing Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in a fourth-grade elementary classroom. He used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design with the Kemmis and Taggart model in two cycles, consisting of involving planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observations, tests, and questionnaires with 10 fourth-grade students at SDN 86/II Timbolasi. Data were analysed using qualitative descriptive techniques for observations and questionnaires. Researchers also conducted quantitative data analysis using descriptive statistics. The study revealed notable improvements from Cycle I to Cycle II, demonstrating the effectiveness of implementing Problem-Based Learning in enhancing teaching quality and student outcomes. Teacher performance increased significantly from 55% in Cycle I to 90% in Cycle II. Likewise, student engagement rose markedly, from 70% in Cycle I to 90% in Cycle II, with the latter categorised as "very good." These changes were then evaluated and reflected in the second cycle initiative planning, leading to instructional strategy refinement. The research was conducted with a small sample size in a single rural school, which may limit the generalizability of the findings. However, the results provide valuable guidance for integrating PBL with interactive media to improve student-centred learning. This study offers empirical evidence of PBL’s effectiveness in interdisciplinary elementary education within rural contexts, highlighting the role of facilitative teaching strategies and multimedia integration in fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and deeper understanding among young learners.
