Abstract

The development of information technology and social media has brought significant changes to educational practices, including in the learning of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This condition demands the integration of technology that is not only oriented toward ease of access but also toward strengthening the values and goals of Islamic education. The integration of technology and social media in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning becomes relevant to improve the quality of the learning process, expand learning resources, and encourage active participation of students in the digital era. However, the use of technology in religious education also presents challenges that need to be addressed to ensure they do not contradict Islamic values. Based on that context, this research aims to analyze the integration of technology and social media in Islamic Religious Education and identify the accompanying opportunities and challenges. This research uses a literature study method by reviewing various scientific sources related to educational technology, social media, digital literacy, and Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. The study results show that the integration of technology and social media can enhance students' learning motivation, activity, and understanding thru the use of digital platforms and online learning media. However, challenges such as the digital divide, low digital literacy, and the potential for media misuse still require attention. Therefore, the integration of technology in PAI learning needs to be accompanied by strengthening digital literacy, ethical guidance, and supervision based on Islamic values so that educational goals can be optimally achieved

Abstract

Multiculturalism is an unavoidable social reality in human life. The diversity of religion, ethnicity, language, and culture is an inevitable reality that should serve as a source of strength rather than conflict. However, the lack of multicultural awareness often leads to social tensions. In this context, education plays a strategic role in instilling human values, tolerance, and respect for differences through an inclusive and multicultural-oriented curriculum, including in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study aims to analyze multicultural values, identify strategies for developing a multicultural-based curriculum, and examine the challenges and solutions in its implementation. The method used is a qualitative approach with a library research design, focusing on the exploration and analysis of various written sources such as books, scientific journals, articles, and relevant online materials. The results of the study indicate that the application of values such as tolerance, unity, mutual cooperation, and solidarity plays an important role in shaping inclusive student character. The strategies used include adjusting the educational philosophy toward a more humanistic approach, integrating cultural values into learning materials, implementing collaborative learning, and using comprehensive evaluation methods. In the context of Islamic Religious Education, the multicultural approach is effective in fostering religious moderation and tolerance, although it still faces obstacles such as limited resources and insufficient teacher training. Therefore, collaboration among the government, educational institutions, and society is needed to strengthen the implementation of multicultural curricula in schools.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the values of Siri' Na Pacce as a paradigm of Islamic character education based on local culture in South Sulawesi. Siri' Na Pacce is a philosophy of life for the Bugis-Makassar community that contains moral, social, and spiritual values such as self-esteem (siri') and social concern (pacce). This study uses a qualitative approach with the library research method, exploring various cultural, Islamic, and character education literature. The analysis was conducted descriptively and analytically to explore the relevance between Siri' Na Pacce values and the principles of Islamic character education. The research findings indicate that Siri' aligns with the Islamic concepts of 'izzah (self-respect) and haya' (shame toward sin), while Pacce reflects the values of rahmah (compassion) and ukhuwah islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood). These two values have great potential to be integrated into the Islamic character education curriculum thru curriculum approaches, habituation, and role modelling. Case studies in several Islamic educational institutions in South Sulawesi show that applying the values of Siri' Na Pacce can strengthen the character development of students to be honest, responsible, and caring toward others. Thus, Siri' Na Pacce is not only a local cultural heritage, but also a paradigm of Islamic character education that is contextual and relevant in addressing the moral challenges of the younger generation in the era of globalization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the local wisdom values of Bugis Sipakatau, Sipakalebbi, and Sipakainge in strengthening religious moderation through Islamic Religious Education (PAI). Using a qualitative approach through the library research method, this study examines relevant literature related to the concept of religious moderation, Islamic education, and local Bugis cultural values. The results of the study show that the three main values are closely related to Islamic principles that emphasize humanity, justice, and balance in religion. Sipakatau means humanizing humans, Sipakalebbi emphasizes mutual respect, while Sipakainge contains the value of reminding each other in kindness. These three values substantively reflect the principles of religious moderation, namely fairness, tolerance, and avoiding extremism. The implementation of 3S values in PAI learning can be carried out through contextual and culture-based approaches, such as social projects, reflection on human values, and collaboration with indigenous leaders and local scholars. This study concludes that the integration  of Sipakatau, Sipakalebbi, and Sipakainge values  not only strengthens the relevance of PAI in the multicultural context of Indonesia, but also becomes a strategic foundation for building a religious character that is moderate, humanist, and rooted in the nation's culture.
