Abstract

Abstract

Stunting remains a serious challenge in human development, as it adversely affects development performance and economic growth, particularly in West Sulawesi Province, which has recorded the highest stunting prevalence in Sulawesi over the past several years. This study aims to analyze the performance of stunting reduction efforts in West Sulawesi Province by examining the alignment between policy objectives, program implementation, and achieved outcomes. The research adopts a qualitative approach using the Logical Framework Analysis (LFA) method. The data utilized are secondary data derived from development planning documents, program implementation reports, and official publications from relevant government institutions. The findings indicate that the high prevalence of stunting is influenced by limited access to nutritious food, poor sanitation and inadequate access to safe drinking water, a high incidence of early marriage, and the suboptimal implementation of accelerated stunting reduction programs. Based on the LFA results, policy recommendations for addressing stunting in West Sulawesi Province include strengthening food security and promoting local food diversification; improving community-based drinking water supply and sanitation facilities; enhancing education and awareness programs to prevent early marriage alongside the provision of educational assistance; and improving the quality and effectiveness of both specific and sensitive interventions implemented in an integrated and convergent manner through cross-sectoral synergy at the national, regional, and village levels. Addressing stunting requires a multidimensional and collaborative approach that involves strong cross-sectoral coordination, sustained commitment from local governments, active community participation, and the efficient and well-targeted utilization of funding sources, supported by continuous monitoring and supervision.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of regional revenue, regional expenditure, and fiscal independence on the financial performance of the South Sulawesi Provincial Government. Fluctuations in revenue, expenditure patterns, and the level of fiscal dependency over the last ten years indicate the dynamics of regional financial management. The study uses a quantitative approach with annual time-series data from 2010–2024. Financial performance is measured through the growth ratio, while the independent variables are derived from the Regional Budget (APBD) financial indicators. The results show that each variable has a different influence on financial performance, mainly through expenditure effectiveness, revenue capacity, and the level of fiscal independence. These findings emphasize the importance of increasing fiscal independence and optimizing productive spending in order to strengthen the sustainability of regional financial management.

Abstract

The development of Islamic banking in Indonesia following the merger has positioned PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) as a strategic entity within the national financial system. In line with this role, it is important to understand how BSI’s financial performance has evolved and how it is empirically related to Indonesia’s economic growth. This study aims to provide an empirical overview of the financial performance of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia and its descriptive association with Indonesia’s economic growth during the 2019–2023 period. This study employs a descriptive quantitative approach with a non-experimental research design. The data used are secondary data obtained from the annual financial reports of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia and Indonesia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) data. The bank’s financial performance is measured using Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), while economic growth is proxied by GDP. The analytical methods applied include descriptive analysis and trend analysis to identify patterns and dynamics in the observed variables over the study period. The results indicate that PT Bank Syariah Indonesia’s financial performance experienced varying dynamics, with improvements observed in certain profitability and capital adequacy indicators during specific periods. Descriptively, the movement of BSI’s financial performance tends to align with the dynamics of Indonesia’s economic growth. However, this association is not intended to imply a causal relationship, but rather to represent an initial and contextual empirical indication.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate infrastructure development planning strategies to enhance economic growth in Gowa Regency. The research adopts a qualitative approach using SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis to identify internal and external factors influencing regional development planning. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with key informants from the Regional Development Planning Agency of Gowa Regency, supported by document analysis and relevant policy reviews. The findings indicate that Gowa Regency possesses significant internal strengths, including institutional capacity and integrated planning systems, as well as external opportunities such as its strategic position within the Mamminasata National Strategic Area and growing investment potential. However, several challenges remain, including limited budget capacity, uneven infrastructure distribution, and gaps between planning and implementation. Based on the SWOT matrix, the institution is positioned in Quadrant I, indicating an aggressive growth-oriented strategy. Therefore, the recommended strategies include strengthening economic infrastructure, enhancing institutional capacity, promoting community-based economic empowerment, and developing sustainable infrastructure. These findings are expected to provide a basis for improving the effectiveness of development planning and fostering inclusive economic growth.

Abstract

This study examines the tourism development strategy to increase Local Original Revenue (PAD) in Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi. Despite having significant tourism potential, such as Bira Beach and the Pinisi shipbuilding tradition, the contribution of the tourism sector to PAD remains fluctuating and has not been fully optimized. Therefore, this study aims to formulate an effective and targeted tourism development strategy. The research employs a quantitative descriptive approach using observation, Likert-scale questionnaires, and documentation, with data analyzed through SWOT analysis, IFAS-EFAS matrices, and the Grand Strategy Matrix. The findings indicate that the tourism sector has strong internal strengths (5,09) and significant external opportunities (4,99), exceeding its weaknesses (4,56) and threats (3,95), placing it in Quadrant I (aggressive strategy). The results suggest that the most appropriate strategy is the SO (Strengths-Opportunities) strategy, which focuses on optimizing tourism potential, enhancing digital promotion, strengthening cultural-based tourism, and expanding investment in infrastructure. The study concludes that implementing an aggressive and integrated strategy can improve the tourism sector’s contribution to PAD and support regional economic development. These findings highlight the importance of aligning tourism potential with strategic planning to achieve sustainable fiscal growth.

Abstract

Abstract

Willingness to Pay (WTP) is a method used to ascertain the extent to which individuals are willing to contribute financially to the protection of a specific tourist destination, in this case, the Rammang-Rammang Karst Mountains. It provides insight into the level of financial support tourists are prepared to offer for the preservation of an environment. The objective of this study is to ascertain the factors that influence visitors' willingness to pay for the development of tourist attractions and to determine the value of their WTP. This will enable the establishment of price rates based on their willingness to travel to the Rammang-Rammang Karst Mountains. This research is quantitative in nature, employing data collection techniques such as observation, questionnaires, and interviews with open-ended questions. The findings of the study indicate that the mean value of the WTP among visitors is Rp. The mean value of the WTP is 14,390. This value is greater than the entrance fee rate that has been implemented by the current Rammang-Rammang Karst Mountains tourism manager (POKDARWIS). A number of factors have been identified as influencing the willingness of visitors to pay, including the level of education, income, and the amount of time spent at tourist sites.
