Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that occurred in Indonesia in 2020 has an impact on the community's economy, including the people of Santong Village, Kayangan, North Lombok. Economic recovery is carried out starting from meeting daily food needs with one of its activities, namely the aquaculture in buckets (budikdamber). Budikdamber is a solution for aquaculture in narrow areas with efficient use of water, easy for people to do at home with small modes and finally able to meet nutritional needs. The purpose of this community service activity is to promote, develop, and assist fish farming activities using the Budikdamber system (aquaculture in buckets) to residents of Santong Village, Kayangan, North Lombok. The use of this community service is carried out by lecture and mentoring methods, namely introducing and direct practice of budikdamber activities. This service activity was started by making a presentation introducing budikdamber (aquaculture in buckets), discussion, and direct practice to the community of Santong Village. The result of this community service activity was that the first counseling was carried out with the material presented related to budikdamber which was followed by the PKK group, the aquaculture group, and several students who were carrying out KKN activities. After that, direct practice of making budikdamber begins with the preparation of tools and materials. If the tools and materials are ready, then proceed with the activities of making budikdamber. Next is the maintenance of budikdamber which will eventually be harvested. Fish that can be used are catfish, carp, tilapia, sepat, while vegetables that can be grown are spinach, lettuce, kale, pakcoy, and mustard greens. The conclusion of this community service is that information, knowledge, and technical guidance have been conveyed to the community in Santong Village about budikdamber technology.

Abstract

Stunting is a health issue that impacts children on a local, national, and international scale. High rates of early marriage are directly associated to the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia. Children in early childhood who marry and become pregnant without the knowledge, mental and financial readiness to become good mothers pose a grave threat to the quality of the future human resources. The problem of stunting is influenced not only by a single element, but also by multiple factors, the most significant of which is the fulfillment of nutrient needs, particularly protein, in this case through fish consumption. This community service project aims to provide counseling or instruction on the significance of fish nutrition in preventing stunting, as well as teach participants how to make cookies from wet anchovies. This method of community service is counseling, which consists of multiple stages, including preparation, distribution of materials, pre- and post-testing, explanation of method to make anchovy cookies, and tasting fish-based processed foods together. From the findings of the pretest given by the speaker to the respondents, 50% of the respondents consumed around 200 g of fish on the day of counseling, and 100% of the respondents were motivated to consume fish following the counseling. In addition to emphasizing the significance of consuming fish on a regular basis for proper nutrition, the presenters demonstrated how to make anchovy cookies as an alternative snack for children. The outcome of this service activity is that the respondents are enthusiastic and inspired by the knowledge offered by the presenters, and are interested in preparing anchovy-based cookies at home.

Abstract

Indonesia has great potentiaI in deveIoping maricuIture with commodities that have great potentiaI as high quaIity export products, one of which is Iobster. One of the Iocations that produces Iobster is West Nusa Tenggara, with one of the regions producing Iobster being Dompu District. Iobster cuItivation in Dompu is inseparabIe from various probIems that arise so that the resuIts are Iess than optimaI. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the capacity of Iobster cuItivator groups to optimize Iobster production. The aim of this activity is to increase the knowIedge of the Iobster cuItivator group so that it can increase the productivity of Iobster cuItivation using the FNC system and wiII Iater be abIe to increase the economic income of Iobster cuItivators and the IocaIIy-generated revenue of Dompu District. The method for impIementing this service activity incIudes three stages, nameIy: 1) Iocation survey stage and coordination with partners, 2) CounseIing stage (deIivering materiaI) with Iectures and 3) EvaIuation stage. The targets of this activity are the Doro Ombo Group and the Doro Matompo Group. Participants were introduced to the science and technoIogy of cuItivating Iobsters using the fIoating net cage (FNC) system through the Iecture method. The initiaI materiaI presented incIudes an introduction to aquacuIture and Iobster. The materiaI continued on Iobster cuItivation techniques using the FNC system. Stages of Iobster cuItivation using the FNC system incIude Iocation seIection, FNC construction, FNC Iayout, feed procurement, feed storage, catching seeds in nature, seed handIing, nursery techniques, and rearing techniques in FNC (cage preparation, stocking of pueruIus, feeding, water quaIity management, disease controI, harvesting, post-harvest handIing). Based on the evaIuation at the end of the activity in the form of a post-test, the resuIts were very positive. The concIusion shows that the counseIing provided had a positive impact on the transfer of science and knowIedge regarding Iobster cuItivation using the FNC system.
