Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) is a system that connects devices directly or indirectly to the internet. The device can work with remote control. One application of the IoT system on the watering system is able to provide an approach to the ease in the process of growth and development of plants. The research carried out was applied to an IoT-based smart plant watering device. The tool is supported with a soil moisture measuring sensor that acts as a benchmark to determine the condition of soil moisture and automatic control of the process of watering plants. The process of watering plants is scheduled in the morning and evening. Information, as long as the device is run will be displayed on the LCD and screen of an Android-based smartphone application. The data can be a comparison value to determine the suitability of soil moisture data in plants. The volume of water supplied in the watering process also affects the level of soil moisture. IoT-based smart plant sprinklers can automate watering by measuring the percentage of soil moisture as a benchmark for providing water during the watering process. Remote watering control can also be done on this tool by using a WiFi signal to the same access point that is connected to the smartphone client and microcontroller. Keyword: agriculture, automatic sprinklers, engineering, IoT

Abstract

The embedded systems in the industrial, especially image processing, is increasingly leading to the study of production automation systems such as fruit sorting. Post-harvest sorting system implemented by the industry is manual, so it’s not effective. The solution was to conduct research aimed at modifying post-harvest sorting tools by engineering tomato and orange sorting machines based on their color. The method uses image processing. It’s the most efficient alternative in terms of cost and complexity of hardware design, does not require many sensors, but produces an accurate output. The camera is placed on the mechanical sorting machine system, taking images to determine the sorting execution after the fruit color type are recognized. The results of the research were carried out through several tests, namely: light intensity, color image data, and organoleptics. Light intensity test showed that the position of the tool had a value of 0.78% of the outside light disturbance. Color image shows the range of ripeness values (R/G) for raw tomatoes 0<=1.04; half ripe tomatoes 1.04<=1.39; ripe tomatoes 1.39<=3.59; raw orange 0<=0.92; undercooked oranges 0.92<=0.98; and ripe oranges 0.98<=1.66. Organoleptic test from five observers had the same results as the reading on the fruit sorting tool. Keywords : engineering, fruit maturity, oranges, sorting machines, tomatoes

Abstract

A data acquisition system for measuring and storing dissolved oxygen levels has been implemented to monitor water quality levels in shrimp culture media using an internet-based potential redox sensor (ORP). The purpose of this study is to apply ARMS, an instrument for monitoring internet-based potential redox data (dissolved oxygen levels) in shrimp culture media in real-time to determine the condition of water quality. This system is designed using an ORP sensor that uses WIFI communication. In principle, when the ORP sensor is placed in the water in the shrimp culture media, the potential redox data will be detected by the sensor connected to the ESP8266 which processes and transmits data which is then displayed and analyzed on the smartphone interface. In this study, 9 units of shrimp culture media prototype ponds were used for observational tests. The object of observation in the pond is water quality data in the form of sediment potential redox values. At this stage of research, two processes of observation of data collection were conducted. The first process is to monitor water quality conditions on the user's smartphone display, in the form of the potential redox value of each pool measured by the ARMS instrument for 12 weeks. The second process is to compare the potential redox observation data measured by the ARMS instrument and the ORP Meter in each pool. Observation of comparative data took place during the 6th week. The sediment potential redox values for treatments 1, 2, and 3 were 69 mV, 151 mV, and 210 mV respectively. The average redox potentials in the water are in the range of 90.56 mV to -263 mV for treatment 1; 90.75 mV to -62,934 mV for treatment 2; 90.65 mV to 60.73 mV for treatment 3. This range is the measurement range from week 0 (shrimp seed stocking) to week 4. The results of the comparison of the two tools show that the accuracy of the ARMS tool is more than 95%.

Abstract

Narcissistic personalities are often encountered in social media, where this narcissistic personality does not escape from hate comments. Narcissistic personality itself is a feeling of self-love that is excessive or not in accordance with its normal level of self-love. This condition triggers hate comment behavior in which some individuals feel dislike, disagree with, or envy someone with a narcissistic personality. The purpose of this study was to determine the relation between narcissistic personality and hate comments on social media. The research subjects were 146 people aged 14-25 years who were active in social media. The data collection method used a narcissistic personality scale and hate comment behavior scale which was adapted from previous questionnaires. The scale model is 8 in Likert form with 5 levels. Using correlation and regression data analysis techniques, it was found that 11.3% of the influence of narcissistic personality on hate comment behavior on social media was found. Furthermore, based on the results of a simple regression test, an equation model shows that hate comment behavior on social media can be explained positively by narcissistic personality. Thus, the higher the narcissistic personality, the higher the hate comment behavior.
