Abstract

Music is believed to have a significant influence on the psychological and physiological aspects of individuals, especially in the context of physical activity and sports. This study aims to analyze the impact of listening to music on sports motivation through a literature review of various empirical and theoretical studies conducted during the period 2018–2025. The method used is a literature review, examining nine international and national scientific articles that discuss the relationship between music, motivation, and sports performance. The research data sources are obtained from various articles available in the Google Scholar database. Data analysis is conducted qualitatively through stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The analysis results show that consistently listening to music has a positive effect on motivation, mood, and sports performance. Music acts as an external stimulus that can boost enthusiasm, reduce perceived fatigue, and improve movement efficiency during exercise. The effectiveness of music depends on factors such as tempo, rhythm, synchronization, and individual preferences for the type of music listened to. Fast-tempo and energetic rhythm music—such as Electronic Dance Music (EDM)—has been shown to be the most effective in increasing motivation and enthusiasm. Additionally, music that is liked by individuals has a more significant psychological and performance impact compared to music that is not liked.

Abstract

This study is a literature review of 18 articles discussing football learning methods in the physical education curriculum for the 2015–2025 period. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of various learning approaches, including Teaching Games for Understanding (TGFU), Small-Sided Games (SSG), direct instruction, hybrid models, digital media, cooperative learning, and the scientific approach (5M). A systematic review method was used to select articles from various databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, DOAJ, Sinta, and Garuda. Of the 125 initial articles, 18 met the inclusion criteria and were fully analyzed. The synthesis of results showed that game-based models were the most effective approach in improving students' tactical understanding and decision-making, with a 33–44% increase in tactical variables. Learning through 3v3 SSG consistently increased passing accuracy by 40.2%, while TGFU increased tactical awareness by 33.1%. In terms of basic technique, direct instruction provided significant improvements, such as a 12.8% increase in dribbling speed, a 40.4% increase in shooting accuracy, and a 31.3% increase in heading skills through video. The hybrid model proved to be the most comprehensive, with an average improvement of 43.9% in both technique and tactics. Digital media demonstrated additional effectiveness, with a 25–35% increase in technical skills. This study concluded that optimal football learning requires a combination of a game-based approach, systematic technique training, and the use of technology. The hybrid model is recommended as the most effective learning strategy for modern physical education curricula.

Abstract

Knee and wrist injuries are two common problems experienced by volleyball athletes, primarily due to jumping, landing, and repetitive upper extremity movements. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of implementing a preventive physical training program in reducing the frequency and risk of knee and wrist injuries in volleyball athletes at the BKMF FIKK UNM. The study used a quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 30 active athletes who had been participating in training for at least 3 months. The intervention was administered for 8 weeks, three times per week, and included core stabilization exercises, knee and wrist muscle strengthening, proprioception, and landing technique. Data were collected through injury questionnaires, handgrip strength tests, single-leg balance tests, and observations of landing technique. The results showed a reduction in the frequency of knee injuries from 60% to 30%, and wrist injuries from 43% to 20%. Wrist strength increased from 28.7 kg to 32.5 kg, and leg balance time increased from 21.3 seconds to 26.4 seconds. A paired-sample t-test showed significant results (p < 0.05), and an effect size (Cohen's d) value > 0.8 indicated a large effect. In conclusion, the preventive physical training program has been shown to be statistically and practically effective in reducing injuries and improving physical performance. This intervention is recommended for continued implementation in collegiate athletic training environments.

Abstract

Physical education plays a vital role in shaping students’ character through physical activities that foster moral, social, and emotional values. This article aims to examine the role of physical education in character formation, the character values that can be developed, and the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting its implementation in schools. This study employed a literature review method, analyzing books, scientific articles, and national and international journals relevant to the topic. The findings indicate that physical education significantly contributes to developing character values such as discipline, responsibility, cooperation, sportsmanship, honesty, empathy, and solidarity. The main supporting factors include the competence and moral example of physical education teachers, a positive school environment, the Merdeka Belajar curriculum, and adequate sports facilities. In contrast, the inhibiting factors consist of limited sports infrastructure, teachers’ focus on physical aspects over character formation, reduced instructional time, and the negative influence of digital technology on students’ social interaction. Therefore, physical education must be implemented in an integrated and reflective manner to ensure the continuous internalization of character values among students

Abstract

This study aims to explain the role of physical education activities in supporting the mental health of high school adolescents in urban environments. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation of physical education learning activities, and review of documents related to school programmes. The data obtained were analysed using thematic analysis techniques to identify patterns, meanings, and connections between organised physical activities, such as sports games, fitness exercises, and motor activities, and the emotional, social, and psychological aspects of students. The results showed that regular participation in physical education helped students express themselves, manage stress, build self-confidence, strengthen social relationships, and balance academic demands and the need for activity. Overall, physical education played an important mediating role in promoting an active lifestyle and mental well-being among adolescents in urban areas.
