Abstract

Family support for schizophrenics has proven to be very effective in supporting patients' healing and independence. And this program has been widely recommended by several minimum service standards published internationally. However, the reality is that the family is not yet fully supported, even though good family support can increase patient independence. Aims to find out the relationship between family support and ADL independence in schizophrenia patients. The research design used in this study was a correlation method that used a cross-sectional approach, with samples in this study were 70 family members with schizophrenia. The variables in this study are family supports (instrumental, informational, appreciation, assessment). Based on the results of statistical tests using the Spearman Rank shows ρ value for instrumental family support (0.020), informational family support (0.031), family support award (0.021), and family support assessment (0.021). Full family support is necessary and given to sufferers, especially schizophrenics. Comprehensive family support can be given if the caregiver is a member of the nuclear family who has a good psychological closeness with the sufferer. The results of this study can explain future approaches to dealing with the family support of schizophrenia patients Keywords: ADL Independence, Family Support, Schizophrenia.

The design of this research is Cross-Sectional with the sampling technique uses purposive sampling to get a sample of 108 people. Retrieval of data using questionnaire sheets and multiple linear regression statistical tests. The results of the study using multiple linear regression test showed that family support had a B value of 0.111 with sig = 0.036, support of health workers had a value of B 0.156 with sig = 0.028, and peer support had a value of B 0.233 with sig = 0.002. The beta coefficient value on family support is 0.203, health worker support is 0.212, and peer support is 0.297. It can be concluded that the three supporters, namely family, health workers and peers, influence the use of traditional medicine. The most dominant influence in this study was on peer support. Abstract

Introduction: Diseases commonly observed in the elderly population are attributed to the decline in vascular functionality, with hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, being one such condition. The objective of this community service initiative is to assist senior citizens and elderly individuals in enhancing their knowledge regarding methods to reduce blood pressure levels. Additionally, it aims to enhance their proficiency in performing yoga exercises that have a positive influence on blood pressure. Method: The population in this community service activity is elderly people who are active in participating in activities organized by Posyandu Kromolio Pos 3 or Usila Mandiri Elderly School in Senggreng Village, Malang Regency. The sampling technique used is saturated sample technique or non-probability sampling. The older individuals will monitor their blood pressure during each gathering. The blood pressure assessment is conducted both prior to and following the implementation of yoga activities in order to ascertain the impact of those exercises on the blood pressure levels of older individuals. Results: At the first meeting, 58% of the elderly who attended experienced a decrease in blood pressure after doing yoga exercises. At the second meeting, 73% of the elderly who came experienced a decrease in blood pressure and 12% of the elderly did not experience changes in blood pressure before and after yoga exercises. Conclusion: Following the implementation of yoga activities as a form of treatment, a significant reduction in blood pressure was observed among the majority of senior individuals. Consequently, empirical evidence supports the assertion that yoga workouts yield beneficial effects in reducing hypertension among older individuals. Abstract

Parents waiting for the presence of a child can be a disappointment if the child is born experiencing mental retardation, one of which is mental retardation. Mental retardation is a disorder of intellectual function characterized by IQ below 70 and adaptive behavior disorder is an obstacle to adapt to the environment. Adaptive behavior of mentally retarded children who are different from other normal children becomes a burden for both parents, those who lack emotional control make themselves stressed because of their childrens behavior. Stress occurs more with a mother than a father, because mothers often care for their children and are closer to their children. The design of this research uses the Non Experimental method with Cross Sectional approach. The population is all respondents, namely all parents of mentally retarded children. Sampling using Total Sampling with a sample of 74 respondents. Data collection methods using the DASS 42 questionnaire were used only on the stress range of 14 questions, and used the childrens adaptive behavior questionnaire of 15 questions. The data obtained are presented in the form of frequency distribution tables and narratives. The results showed that of the 74 respondents having a severe stress level category as many as 63.5 percent with adaptive behavior of moderate children as many as 90.5 percent. The statistical test uses the Spearman Rank Test which shows the magnitude of the correlation coefficient between the two variables namely 0.837 with a significance of 0.038, which means there is a significant relationship between parental stress level and mental retardation behavior of children. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship that the adaptive behavior of the mentally retarded child to the level of parental stress due to the behavior of children who are different from other normal children becomes a burden for both parents.
