Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of remapping maximum engine speed with standard ECU variations and ECU remapping on the performance of a 110cc injection motorbike engine. In this research, dynotest testing was carried out on 110cc injection motorbikes of various types of standard Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and standard Electronic Control Unit (ECU) by taking test results at engine speeds of 3000 rpm-8000 rpm with a range of 1000 rpm. The calculation method is to calculate power and torque. The test results using a dynotest tool based on power and torque obtained data as above, where the highest power and torque from the standard ECU variable was obtained at 7.4 HP and the highest torque at 9.38 Nm. Meanwhile, using the standard ECU remap, the highest power is 7.6 hp and the highest torque is 9.52. The results of the dynotest test and also calculations from Origin Pro with a comparison using a standard ECU and a remap standard ECU concluded that the use of a remap standard ECU can provide an increase in power and torque in the motorbike engine. When using a standard ECU remap, the results show that the standard ECU that has been remapped actually provides higher improvement results than the standard ECU that has not been remapped.

Abstract

Abstrak Desa Wonosari, Kecamatan Puger, Kabupaten Jember, menghadapi permasalahan serius dalam pengelolaan sampah organik yang sebagian besar masih dibuang atau dibakar, menimbulkan pencemaran lingkungan dan hilangnya potensi ekonomi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan mengintegrasikan teknologi tepat guna berupa mesin shredder dan kandang maggot dual-zona untuk mendukung budidaya larva Black Soldier Fly (BSF) sebagai solusi zero waste berbasis ekonomi sirkular. Mesin shredder digunakan untuk mencacah limbah organik rumah tangga dan pasar menjadi bubur halus, sedangkan kandang dual-zona berukuran 2,5 m × 1,5 m × 1 m dengan tambahan laci 0,5 m didesain tanpa sudut siku-siku agar lalat BSF tidak menempel di rangka, serta memisahkan ruang terang untuk perkawinan dan ruang gelap-lembap untuk oviposisi. Pelatihan teknis kepada Karang Taruna Desa Wonosari dilakukan secara partisipatif, mencakup pengoperasian shredder, manajemen kandang, serta siklus budidaya maggot hingga panen. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan shredder mampu mengolah 120–160 kg sampah organik per hari, sementara kandang menghasilkan tingkat penetasan telur 85–90% dengan produksi maggot konsisten. Maggot dipanen pada usia 10–12 hari dengan ukuran 1–1,2 cm dan kandungan protein tinggi, dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan unggas dan ikan, sedangkan residu organik diolah menjadi pupuk kompos. Dampak yang dicapai tidak hanya mengurangi praktik pembakaran sampah, tetapi juga membuka peluang ekonomi baru melalui penguatan unit pengelola sampah desa berbasis Karang Taruna. Integrasi mesin shredder dan kandang maggot inovatif terbukti efektif dalam mengurangi sampah organik, meningkatkan produktivitas budidaya maggot, serta memperkuat kemandirian ekonomi masyarakat pedesaan berbasis konsep zero waste. Kata kunci: mesin shredder; kandang dual-zona; zero waste; ekonomi sirkular; maggot Abstract Wonosari Village, Puger District, Jember Regency, faces serious problems in the management of organic waste, most of which is still disposed of or burned, causing environmental pollution and loss of economic potential. This service activity aims to integrate appropriate technology in the form of shredder machines and dual-zone maggot cages to support the cultivation of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae as a zero waste solution based on a circular economy. The shredder is used to chop household and market organic waste into fine slurries, while the 2.5 m × 1.5 m × 1 m dual-zone cage with an additional 0.5 m drawer is designed without right angles to keep BSF flies from sticking to the frame, as well as separating a light room for mating and a dark-damp room for oviposition. Technical training to the Wonosari Village Youth Organization is carried out in a participatory manner, including shredder operation, cage management, and maggot cultivation cycle until harvest. The results of the implementation showed that the shredder was able to process 120–160 kg of organic waste per day, while the cage produced an egg hatching rate of 85–90% with consistent maggot production. Maggot are harvested at the age of 10–12 days with a size of 1–1.2 cm and a high protein content, used as poultry and fish feed, while organic residues are processed into compost. The impact achieved not only reduces the practice of burning waste, but also opens up new economic opportunities through the strengthening of Karang Taruna-based village waste management units. The integration of shredder machines and innovative maggot cages has proven effective in reducing organic waste, increasing maggot cultivation productivity, and strengthening the economic independence of rural communities based on the zero waste concept. Keywords: shredder machine; dual-zone enclosure; zero waste; circular economy; maggot

Abstract

Dalam perkembangan industri otomotif, keselamatan kendaraan menjadi aspek yang semakin diperhatikan, khususnya pada kendaraan off-road yang beroperasi dalam kondisi ekstrem. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kinerja struktur bodi enam jenis kendaraan Jeep off-road terhadap skenario kecelakaan menggunakan metode simulasi numerik. Proses analisis dilakukan melalui perangkat lunak ANSYS 2022 R2 dengan pendekatan Explicit Dynamics untuk mengevaluasi deformasi total, tegangan (von Mises), dan faktor keselamatan (safety factor) pada kecepatan 20 km/jam, 40 km/jam, dan 80 km/jam. Model bodi kendaraan dirancang menggunakan SolidWorks 2018 dan dimaterialisasi dengan AISI 1045 (High Carbon Steel). Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kecepatan berdampak signifikan terhadap peningkatan deformasi dan tegangan pada setiap model bodi. Selain itu, tidak semua desain mampu mempertahankan nilai safety factor di atas ambang aman pada kecepatan tinggi. Desain Wrangler Rubicon dan Grand Vitara menunjukkan performa struktural yang lebih stabil dibanding desain lainnya, terutama pada kecepatan rendah dan menengah. Temuan ini dapat menjadi acuan dalam pengembangan desain kendaraan off-road yang lebih aman dan efisien.

Abstract

Tobacco stalk waste is an agricultural residue with high potential for development as a renewable energy source through a thermochemical conversion process. This study aims to evaluate the effect of varying pyrolysis temperature on the physical and chemical characteristics of biochar produced from tobacco stalk, in order to determine the optimum temperature for producing the best quality product. The method used was a closed pyrolysis process in a stainless-steel reactor at three temperature variations: 290, 390, and 490°C for 60 minutes. The pyrolyzed biochar was analyzed using proximate analysis, calorific value testing, and chemical functional group characterization using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The results showed that higher pyrolysis temperatures consistently decreased moisture and volatile matter content, while increasing the bound carbon content and calorific value of the biochar. At 490°C, the best biochar characteristics were obtained with a bound carbon content of 56.25%, a moisture content of 4.5%, volatile matter of 24.3%, and the highest calorific value reaching 5521.90 cal/g. Chemical structure analysis also indicated the formation of more stable functional groups at higher temperatures, indicating a more advanced level of carbonization. These findings indicate that within the investigated temperature range (290–490°C), 490°C yielded the biochar with the most favorable characteristics for solid fuel applications, specifically regarding fixed carbon content and calorific value. While 490°C represents the peak performance in this study, it serves as a critical operational point for achieving advanced carbonization in tobacco stalk waste. This research provides an important contribution to the development of efficient tropical biomass processing technologies. It expands the database of thermal and chemical characteristics of agricultural waste-based biochar, which has been understudied to date.

Abstract

Abstrak Sekolah menengah kejuruan memiliki karakteristik konsumsi energi listrik yang tinggi akibat penggunaan peralatan praktik, laboratorium komputer, serta perangkat multimedia pembelajaran. Namun, sebagian besar sekolah belum memiliki Sistem Manajemen Energi (SME) yang terstruktur dan terdokumentasi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memberdayakan SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Ambulu melalui implementasi Sistem Manajemen Energi berbasis SNI ISO 50001:2018 serta integrasi analisis berbasis Artificial Intelligence (AI) untuk mendukung rekomendasi efisiensi energi. Mitra sasaran dalam kegiatan ini adalah civitas akademika SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Ambulu, dengan melibatkan partisipasi aktif 15 orang peserta yang terdiri dari 5 guru dan 10 siswa. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan secara partisipatif melalui tahapan observasi, energy review, pengembangan Teknologi Tepat Guna (TTG) berupa aplikasi perhitungan energi, sosialisasi dan pelatihan, penyusunan SOP energi, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sekolah telah memiliki kebijakan energi, baseline energi, indikator kinerja energi (EnPI), serta identifikasi Significant Energy Use (SEU). Kegiatan sosialisasi meningkatkan literasi energi dan kesadaran budaya hemat energi. Program ini mendukung penguatan kapasitas kelembagaan sekolah menuju model Smart Green School yang adaptif terhadap teknologi digital dan berkelanjutan. Kata kunci: sistem manajemen energi; artificial intelligence; efisiensi energi; sekolah vokasi; pengabdian masyarakat Abstract Vocational high schools are characterized by high electricity consumption due to the use of practical equipment, computer laboratories, and multimedia learning devices. However, most schools do not yet have a structured and documented Energy Management System (SME). This community service activity aims to empower SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Ambulu through the implementation of an Energy Management System based on SNI ISO 50001:2018 and the in     ;tegration of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based analysis to support energy efficiency recommendations. The target partners in this activity are the academic community of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Ambulu, involving the active participation of 15 participants consisting of 5 teachers and 10 students. The implementation method is carried out in a participatory manner through the stages of observation, energy review, development of Appropriate Technology (TTG) in the form of an energy calculation application, socialization and training, preparation of energy SOPs, and monitoring and evaluation. The results of the activity show that the school has an energy policy, energy baseline, energy performance indicators (EnPI), and identification of Significant Energy Use (SEU). The socialization activity increases energy literacy and awareness of an energy-saving culture. Abstract

The events that occur during the drying include heat and mass transfer processes. So based on this, this research will discuss "Analysis of Heat and Mass Transfer in the Process of Making Instant Soy Milk Using a Laboratory Scale Spray Dryer". The research method used is the experimental method. The research that will be carried out will consist of preliminary research and main research. The purpose of this preliminary study was to determine the drying air temperature, fogging pressure, and the ratio of soy milk powder to water in solution. The best results from preliminary research are used in the main study. Data processing using technical analysis. The results showed that an increase in the drying air temperature of 80 ° C, 85 ° C, 90 ° C, 95 ° C, and 100 ° C caused a decrease in the need for drying air, namely 27.323 kg of dry air / hour to 9.840 kg of dry air / hour, time the drying of the material is shorter, namely 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour, the increase in thermal efficiency is 81.9% to 84.3%, and the increase in product weight coming out of the drying chamber is 3.1 grams to 4.1 grams. The results of the questionnaire showed that the panelists tended to rank taste first (65%), aroma second (61.25%), color third (47.5%).

Abstract

Pelmanfaatan elnelrgi telrbarukan melnjadi selmakin pelnting seliring delngan melnipisnya cadangan bahan bakar fosil dan melningkatnya dampak pelncelmaran lingkungan. Biodielsell melrupakan salah satu sumbelr elnelrgi altelrnatif yang potelnsial karelna dapat dipelrolelh dari minyak nabati maupun limbah minyak, belrsifat ramah lingkungan, selrta belrkellanjutan. Pelnellitian ini belrtujuan untuk melngkaji pelngaruh pelnggunaan katalis heltelrogeln belrbasis biomassa telrhadap nilai kalor biodielsell yang diproduksi dari minyak jellantah mellalui relaksi transelstelrifikasi. Katalis yang digunakan telrdiri dari daun pelpaya, kalsium oksida (CaO) hasil kalsinasi cangkang tellur, dan karbon aktif yang belrasal dari selkam padi. Prosels transelstelrifikasi dilakukan delngan melnggunakan meltanol pada rasio meltanol telrhadap minyak selbelsar 8:1 selrta konselntrasi katalis 4% dari massa minyak, delngan suhu relaksi dijaga pada 60°C. Biodielsell yang dihasilkan kelmudian diuji karaktelristik elnelrginya mellalui pelngukuran nilai kalor melnggunakan bomb kalorimeltelr. Hasil pelnellitian melnunjukkan bahwa pelrbeldaan jelnis katalis melmbelrikan pelngaruh yang signifikan telrhadap nilai kalor biodielsell. Katalis belrbasis selkam padi melnghasilkan nilai kalor telrtinggi selbelsar 922,28 Cal/gram, seldangkan katalis dari cangkang tellur dan daun pelpaya melnghasilkan nilai kalor yang lelbih relndah, masing-masing selbelsar –99,6 Cal/gram dan –146,24 Cal/gram. Telmuan ini melnelgaskan bahwa sifat matelrial katalis belrpelran pelnting dalam melnelntukan kualitas elnelrgi biodielsell, selhingga selkam padi belrpotelnsi dikelmbangkan selbagai katalis heltelrogeln altelrnatif yang elfisieln dan ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

Pengelasan merupakan proses penyambungan dua material logam dengan menggunakan energi panas sehingga menghasilkan sambungan yang permanen. Salah satu metode pengelasan yang banyak digunakan dalam dunia industri adalah Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) karena memiliki proses yang sederhana, biaya relatif ekonomis, dan mampu diaplikasikan pada berbagai jenis material. Kualitas sambungan las dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, salah satunya adalah variasi sudut kampuh yang dapat mempengaruhi penetrasi las dan kekuatan sambungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi sudut kampuh V-Groove 65°, 75°, dan 85° terhadap kekuatan bending hasil las SMAW berbahan baja ST-41. Cara penelitian menerapkan metode eksperimen dengan pendekatan one-factor-at-a-time (OFAT). Material yang digunakan berupa baja ST-41 dengan elektroda E6013 dan arus pengelasan sebesar 110 A. Pengujian yang dilakukan hanya berupa uji bending untuk mengetahui kemampuan sambungan las dalam menerima pembebanan lentur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variasi sudut kampuh berpengaruh terhadap kekuatan bending sambungan las. Nilai kekuatan bending tertinggi diperoleh pada sudut kampuh 85° sebesar 58,156 MPa, sedangkan nilai terendah diperoleh pada sudut kampuh 65°. Semakin besar sudut kampuh, maka penetrasi pengelasan yang dihasilkan semakin baik sehingga meningkatkan kekuatan bending hasil las pada baja ST-41.

Abstract

The BARATA 2 kW electric car is a compact electric vehicle developed to support energy efficiency and research activities. The limited cabin space in this vehicle has the potential to affect driver comfort due to differences in anthropometric characteristics, particularly height and weight. This study aims to analyze the influence of driver height and weight on ergonomic comfort in the 2 kW BARATA electric car using the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) method. The study involved 30 participants, with data collected on height, weight, elbow angle, and knee angle. The anthropometric data were used to model the driver’s posture in CATIA V5 software, followed by an ergonomic analysis using the RULA method and statistical testing using SPSS. The results showed that 80% of the respondents obtained RULA scores in the 3–4 range, which falls into the category requiring further investigation, while 20% of the respondents obtained scores of 5–6, indicating the need for posture improvement. Partial test results showed that height did not have a significant effect on the RULA score with a significance value of 0.815, while body weight had a significant effect with a significance value of 0.000. In addition, the results of the simultaneous test indicate that height and weight together have a significant effect on the driver’s ergonomic comfort. Thus, the cabin design of the 2 kW BARATA electric car has been able to accommodate most drivers, but still requires refinement to improve the user’s ergonomic comfort

Abstract

The increasing energy demand and depleting fossil fuel reserves drive the development of eco-friendly alternative energy sources, such as bioethanol. Sugarcane bagasse, an agro-industrial waste with high lignocellulosic content, holds great potential for processing into bioethanol feedstock. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine the impact of varying dosages of Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast on bioethanol production from sugarcane bagasse through fermentation, while also determining the most effective dosage. This research employed a laboratory experimental method utilizing three yeast dosage variations: 5 grams, 10 grams, and 15 grams. The fermentation process was carried out for 10 days, followed by four stages of distillation. The evaluation focused on four main parameters: moisture content, yield, bioethanol concentration, and calorific value. Based on the experimental results, oven-drying effectively reduced the moisture content of the sugarcane bagasse from 72% to 28%. Furthermore, it was found that an increase in yeast quantity was directly proportional to the concentration of the resulting bioethanol. The optimum result was achieved using 15 grams of yeast, which yielded a bioethanol concentration of up to 94% after the fourth distillation and recorded the highest calorific value at 2187.19 Cal/gram. In conclusion, increasing the yeast mass optimizes the fermentation process, thereby producing higher bioethanol concentrations and calorific values. This confirms that sugarcane bagasse holds great promise as a sustainable and eco-friendly feedstock for bioethanol production
