Abstract

Knowledge, the natural world, traditional medicine, and a strong belief system that emphasises unity are all components of local wisdom. Tribal coexistence in Palu City entails a number of protocols to protect the Kaili tribe's traditional knowledge. Cultural mingling occurs between the Bugis and Makassar tribes, who have long resided in Palu city. The urban centre of Palu City has been shaped and helped to flourish by the interplay of the Kaili, Bugis, and Makassar cultures. Families of Muslims from the three tribes coexist in socioreligious Despite their disparate religious customs, there is a great deal of religious concord among the tribes.  In Palu City, Muslim groups coexist with other Muslim communities. Ethics, diversity, and tolerance are still upheld in balance and harmony. The Bugis and Makassar tribes have played a significant socioeconomic role in Palu city's growth.

Abstract

E-modul adalah modul digital non-cetak yang dibuat dengan komputer dan elemen multimedia untuk membuatnya lebih menarik dan interaktif. Memadukan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PjBL) dengan pendekatan STEM dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa untuk berpikir kritis, kreatif, dan bekerja sama. Ini adalah salah satu inovasi yang dapat digunakan. Namun, tidak ada e-modul kimia berbasis PjBL-STEM yang tersedia di Kota Palu. Guru MGMP kimia di kota tersebut menghadapi kesulitan dalam membuat e-modul yang interaktif dan relevan dengan pendekatan tersebut. Dengan bantuan masyarakat, mereka diberi pelatihan tentang desain e-modul, pembuatan e-modul berbasis PjBL-STEM, dan penerapan pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Sebagai hasilnya, guru MGMP kimia di Palu berhasil mengembangkan e-modul yang meningkatkan literasi numerasi. Luaran dalam bentuk modul berbasis PjBl dengan pendekatan STEM yang ber-ISBN dan HaKi.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of neuroeducation in improving the social and cognitive development of golden age children (0-6 years). Children's limited social interaction with the outside environment and lack of book reading habits were the problems identified. The method used was a survey filled out by mothers of children in the golden age. The results showed that, based on the principles of neuroeducation, the majority of mothers used various stimulation strategies, including cognitive stimulation (3.3), environmental exploration (3.2), and book reading (2.9). However, there was an issue with the lack of habitual book reading, which impacted on the child's language development and memory. The social aspect shows that the mother has provided opportunities for the child to interact with peers (3.4) and taught basic social skills (3.3). However, the child's interaction with the external environment was limited (2.8) and the mother faced difficulties in teaching the child to resolve social conflicts (2.9). As a result, although neuroeducation methods have been used, children need to get the best developmental foundation for their future.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) ini dilaksanakan pada Program Studi S-1 Pendidikan Kimia, Universitas Sembilanbelas November kolaka. Kegiatan PkM dilaksanakkan dengan mempertimbangkan hasil analisis situasi dan kebutuhan mahasiswa akan pemanfaatan reference management software Zotero untuk mendukung pengelolaan dokumen ilmiah mahasiswa. Pelatihan memiliki langkah-langkah: perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Metode yang digunakan pada pelatihan adalah diskusi, Latihan/praktek dan simulasi melalui online learning. Peserta pelatihan terdiri dari 34 orang mahasiswa. Luaran yang diperoleh adalah 100% peserta telah mengetahui reference Management Software dalam pengelolaan dokumen ilmiah, 85.29% peserta telah mampu mengoperasikan reference management software Zotero dan 94.12 % peserta telah memiliki apllikasi reference management software Zotero.

Abstract

Pembentukan kesadaran lingkungan, Pendidikan lingkungan, tanggungjawab sosial, serta peran model pengembangan menjadi penting dalam membentuk generasi masa depan yang bertanggungjawab. Diantara implementasi penanaman sikap peduli lingkungan adalah memelihara dan menjaga kebersihan lingkungan sekolah, membuang sampah pada tempatnya, mencuci tangan dan menggunakan air secukupnya. Metode PkM adalah bentuk sosialisasi dengan fase pelaksanaan identifikasi masalah, penyusunan rencana, pemilihan sasaran, pelaksanaan sosialisasi, pelibatan aktif sasaran dan refleksi. Sasaran dalam PkM adalah Siswa SMP negeri 3 Sindue Tobata. Luaran kegiatan PkM yang dihasilkan adalah meningkatnya kepedulian siswa terhadap lingkungan, membudayanya aktivitas positif baik di sekolah maupun di lingkungan sekitar. Tingkat pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa terhadap penanaman sikap peduli lingkungan meningkat secara signifikan.

Abstract

By using a STEAM-Based Gamification method, this study seeks to maximize students' capacity for metacognitive thinking when learning chemical bonds. In the odd semester of 2023, 28 Biology Education students in class C participated in a quantitative study using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The metacognition questionnaire and the pretest-posttest were the primary tools utilized, and the paired t-test and Effect Size (Cohen's d) were employed to analyze the results. After using STEAM-Based Gamification, students' metacognitive thinking skills significantly improved, according to the results (p-value <0.05). According to the Effect Size value (Cohen's d = 2.63), this approach has a very significant impact. The learning strategy planning component saw the largest growth (+35.6%), demonstrating students' growing capacity to oversee their own learning. According to these results, STEAM-Based Gamification may be widely used to teach difficult chemical topics. By developing more interactive, reflexive, and student-centered learning experiences and enhancing their preparedness for the challenges of the Education 4.0 age, this strategy has the potential to transform the educational paradigm in the future.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the case study methodology has a substantial effect on students' problem-solving skills when compared to traditional learning approaches. The research sample consisted of 56 students divided into two groups: experimental (taught using the case study approach) and control (taught using the traditional method). The quantitative quasi-experiment approach was applied in this study. The experimental class had an average value of 70.7143, whereas the control class had an average value of 62.1429. The independent t-test yielded a significance value of 0.055, suggesting a degree of significance lower than the standard criterion of 0.05. The key conclusion of this study is that employing case studies improves soft skills during the learning process. However, the development of pupils' hard skills is still seen as minor. This study contributes to a better understanding of the influence of the case study technique on problem-solving learning. These findings may be used to provide practical recommendations to increase the efficacy of learning methodologies in acquiring both types of abilities. More study is needed to investigate the elements that impact the observed outcomes and increase the statistical significance in the development of students' skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning model to traditional learning in developing the competence to manage Hazardous and Toxic Materials (B3) in basic laboratory courses. In this form of experimental research utilizing a Pre-Test and Post-Test Control Group Design, The N-gain values in the experimental (0.774) and control (0.8163) groups increased significantly, with g> 0.7 indicating a high category. The N-gain percent in the experimental (77.4026) and control (81.627) courses topped 76%, showing that both learning approaches were effective. Even though the Mann-Whitney non-parametric test revealed no significant difference between the experimental and control groups on the posttest and pretest, the conclusion that PBL had no meaningful impact must be regarded in the context of this study. Overall, both PBL and traditional methods improved B3 handling abilities, and these findings may aid in the creation of more effective learning methodologies in the future.

Abstract

The purpose of community service activities at SMAN 1 Sindue Tobata is to improve the quality of learning by providing training on how to create ICT-based learning media and websites. Schools that are far from Palu city center face difficulties in using technology in the education process. The program successfully improved teachers' understanding and skills by providing training on the use of information and communication technology. The results of the data analysis showed that the components of technology understanding, learning media creation skills, and website management each received excellent ratings, with an average of 3.36, 3.67, and 3.89, respectively. The results show that SMAN 1 Sindue Tobata experienced an improvement in the quality of education thanks to the training.

Abstract

Teachers have both possibilities and problems as a result of the rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, especially in rural regions where internet literacy is still low. The goal of this community service project, SMART-AI: Strengthening Media Advancement and Resourceful Teaching with Artificial Intelligence, was to improve the ability of SMAN 1 Sirenja instructors to create instructional media that incorporates AI. The program's goal was to improve instructors' confidence, understanding, and proficiency using AI technologies like Magic School AI and Canva AI. Pretest and posttest questionnaires were used as part of a quantitative method to evaluate improvements in teacher competency. SPSS was used for the analysis of data from 25 individuals. Participants' posttest scores significantly improved, according to the results, demonstrating a greater grasp of AI-assisted media creation. Additionally, educators expressed increased enthusiasm and a move toward more creative, student-centered teaching methods. Notwithstanding obstacles including uneven internet connection and disparities in digital skills, the initiative was able to accomplish its goals. In summary, SMART-AI showed the value of consistent AI integration in teacher professional development and made a significant contribution to the preparation of educators for the future.
