Abstract

Brine shrimp (Artemia salina) cytotoxicity assays (BSLT) are one of the commonly used cytotoxic test methods to assess a plant extract's pharmacological activity and toxicity. Thus, this study aimed to examine the toxic levels of Kecubung (Datura metel) leaves extracted using different solvents, namely ethanol and ethyl acetate. The results showed that the LC50value of flower ethanol, flower ethyl acetate, leaf ethanol, and stem ethyl acetate extracts had an LC50value 1000, which was included in the toxic category. The LC50value of flower ethanol is 121.044 ppm, flower ethyl acetate 105.89 ppm, leaf ethanol 639.589 ppm, and stem ethyl acetate 635.276 ppm. Ethanol leaf extract at a concentration of 1000 ppm showed the highest mortality with a percentage of 60% of the total number ofA. salina. The flower ethanol extract showed the highest mortality at a concentration of 250 ppm with a percentage of 67% and at a concentration of 1000 ppm with a percentage of 70% of the total number ofA. salina. Meanwhile, flower ethyl acetate and stem ethyl acetate extract at a concentration of 1000 ppm obtained 100% mortality ofA. salinain the first 6 hours. The result shows that the flower ethyl acetate and stem ethyl acetate extract at a concentration of 1000 ppm is very toxic compared to other concentrations. Keywords:ToxicityArtemia salinaLC50Ethyl acetateEthanol

Abstract

Giant gouramiand redclaw crayfish are among popular freshwater organisms with significant potential for aquaculture due to their ease of cultivation, resistance to diseases, and high economic value. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of using fish visceral trash (FVT) in artificial diets to enhance the growthperformancesofgiant gourami(Osphronemus gouramy)andredclaw crayfish(Cheraxquadricarinatus)inapolyculture system.Giant gouramijuveniles (3.620.86cmand3.741.15g)andredclawcrayfish(3.050.35 cm and 6.410.29 g)were dividedinto four groups and cultured in100 L aquarium.Eachgroup was fed twice daily withdiets containing 0%, 10%,20%, and30%FVT/kgdiet. Furthermore, growth performances were assessed in all samples at14days intervals over a period of eight weeks. The resultsshowedthat diets prepared with30%FVTsignificantly affected the growth rateofgiant gourami juveniles, while those comprising20%enhanced the growth of redclaw crayfish.Total length, body weight, specific growth rate, and weight gain significantly increased in samples fed with theexperimentalcompoundeddiets. Based on the observations, it issuggestedthat using FVTcompounded diets tends to improvegrowth performancesinapolyculturesystem. Keywords:Giant gouramiGrowth performanceRedclaw crayfishPolycultureTrash fish

Abstract

Freshwater fish farming is one of the economic potentials that can be developed to improve the welfare of rural communities. Bukut Village has great natural resource potential in the freshwater fisheries sector because it is surrounded by clean and clear rivers. However, there are several main problems that hinder the development of freshwater fish farming in this area, namely: 1) Limited knowledge and technology of freshwater fish hatchery, and 2) Limited availability and quality of freshwater fish seeds. The purpose of this Community Service is to educate the community about artificial breeding techniques through socialization and training or direct practice on how to carry out artificial breeding on freshwater fish to increase the number of freshwater fish seed production and community turnover. The community service method is carried out by dissemination through socialization to increase understanding of good and effective freshwater fish farming, training in artificial breeding techniques from selecting broodstock to hatching eggs, and mentoring. The community service partners are 15 people from the Bukut Village community, Terangun Gayo Lues District. The results of the community service showed that 85% of partners experienced increased knowledge about artificial breeding, 89% of partners understood how to select good broodstock for spawning, 84% of partners understood spawning methods, 83% of partners understood larval maintenance techniques, and 63% of partners' income increased.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify, inventory and assess parking problems and their impact on increasing PAD in Aceh Tamiang Regency. The research method used is a qualitative method. Data was collected through observations and in-depth interviews, informants were determined based on the suitability of research indicators. The location of research is the Aceh Tamiang. The results explain that the Aceh Tamiang Regional Government is currently still hampered by several things, such as the lack of strong human resources for collecting and managing taxes and levies in each regional apparatus; there is still resistance, both active and passive, from parking attendants; the database is incomplete and requires further improvement and there is no regular evaluation of the development of potential parking levies that have been managed by the government or levies that have the potential to become a source of new regional revenue.

Abstract

Aceh Tamiang Regency is an expansion area of East Aceh Regency. This district is located in the strategic East Sumatra route and is only approximately 136 km from the city of Medan, the capital of North Sumatra. This district is directly adjacent to the province of North Sumatra and is the gateway to enter the province of Aceh. There are 77 tourist attractions scattered in the Aceh Tamiang area, which are worth a visit. Potential tourist attractions are spread over 12 (twelve) sub-districts, both natural, cultural-historical and artificial. several problems to build tourist destinations in Aceh Tamiang Regency, including accessibility to tourism objects still looks damaged. Maintenance of damaged roads has not yet been carried out by the district government. The results of the study indicate that the position of tourism development in Tamiang Regency is in Quadrant III, meaning that tourist attraction has a very large opportunity but on the other hand faces several internal weaknesses. The strategy that can be applied in this situation is a turn-around strategy, which is a strategy to minimize weaknesses by taking advantage of existing opportunities. The focus of this strategy is to minimize internal constraints.

Abstract

Low fry quality and the lack of continuous fry availability are major constraints in Nile tilapia cultivation. One of the primary factors contributing to poor fry quality is the inadequate nutritional quality of broodstock feed. Egg stimulant is a feed additive containing multivitamins and minerals that can enhance egg production, improve egg quality, extend the spawning phase, and accelerate gonadal maturation. However, its effectiveness depends on species, broodstock age, and environmental conditions. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of egg stimulant supplementation on larval productivity of Nirwana strain Nile tilapia at Ernawati Farm Galunggung (EFG) through broodstock feeding. Five treatments with three replications were applied, consisting of egg stimulant dosages of 0.25 g/kg, 0.33 g/kg, 0.5 g/kg, 1 g/kg, and a control. Observed parameters included the number of larvae produced per harvest and the daily growth rate of both female and male broodstock during the spawning period. Supplementation of egg stimulant to broodstock feed significantly increased the number of larvae produced per cycle, with the best performance observed in treatment P IV (1 g/kg). However, feed supplementation with egg stimulant did not result in a significant difference in broodstock body weight growth for either sex. Nevertheless, numerical improvements in weight gain were observed, indicating that the supplementation did not inhibit growth and supported the physiological performance of the broodstock
