Abstract

Giant gourami and redclaw crayfish are among popular freshwater organisms with significant potential for aquaculture due to their ease of cultivation, resistance to diseases, and high economic value. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of using fish visceral trash (FVT) in artificial diets to enhance the growth performances of giant gourami (Osphronemus gouramy) and redclaw crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) in a polyculture system. Giant gourami juveniles (3.62±0.86 cm and 3.74±1.15 g) and redclaw crayfish (3.05±0.35 cm and 6.41±0.29 g) were divided into four groups and cultured in 100 L aquarium. Each group was fed twice daily with diets containing 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% FVT/kg diet. Furthermore, growth performances were assessed in all samples at 14 days intervals over a period of eight weeks. The results showed that diets prepared with 30% FVT significantly affected the growth rate of giant gourami juveniles, while those comprising 20% enhanced the growth of redclaw crayfish. Total length, body weight, specific growth rate, and weight gain significantly increased in samples fed with the experimental compounded diets. Based on the observations, it is suggested that using FVT compounded diets tends to improve growth performances in a polyculture system.Keywords:Giant gouramiGrowth performanceRedclaw crayfishPolycultureTrash fish

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the efficiency of fish silage mixed in compounded diets on growth and survival rate of grouper (Epinephelus coioides). Grouper (2,34±0,24 cm, and 4,17±1,82 g) were divided into four groups and cultivated in 1x1x1,5 m floating net cages. Each group fed with compounded diets containing 0, 1, 3 and 5 g/kg fish silage diet twice daily. Fish were sampled for growth performances and feed efficiency at 14 days interval for 10 weeks. Results indicated that compounded diets at 1 and 3 g/kg silage affected the growth rate. Total length, specific growth rate and weight gain significantly increased in fish received 1 and 3 g/kg silage diets. The feed intake seen to be highest in groups administered 3 g/kg silage, whereas the best feed conversion ratio was found in fish fed 1 g/kg silage. Abstract

Brine shrimp (Artemia salina) cytotoxicity assays (BSLT) are one of the commonly used cytotoxic test methods to assess a plant extract's pharmacological activity and toxicity. Thus, this study aimed to examine the toxic levels of Kecubung (Datura metel) leaves extracted using different solvents, namely ethanol and ethyl acetate. The results showed that the LC50 value of flower ethanol, flower ethyl acetate, leaf ethanol, and stem ethyl acetate extracts had an LC50 value 1000, which was included in the toxic category. The LC50 value of flower ethanol is 121.044 ppm, flower ethyl acetate 105.89 ppm, leaf ethanol 639.589 ppm, and stem ethyl acetate 635.276 ppm. Ethanol leaf extract at a concentration of 1000 ppm showed the highest mortality with a percentage of 60% of the total number of A. salina. The flower ethanol extract showed the highest mortality at a concentration of 250 ppm with a percentage of 67% and at a concentration of 1000 ppm with a percentage of 70% of the total number of A. salina. Meanwhile, flower ethyl acetate and stem ethyl acetate extract at a concentration of 1000 ppm obtained 100% mortality of A. salina in the first 6 hours. The result shows that the flower ethyl acetate and stem ethyl acetate extract at a concentration of 1000 ppm is very toxic compared to other concentrations.Keywords:ToxicityArtemia salinaLC50Ethyl acetateEthanol

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah melakukan pemberdayaan dan pendampingan demi penguatan usaha milik mitra KUB ‘Sakura’ Desa Kuala Langsa Kec. Langsa Barat Kota Langsa. Permasalahan prioritas mitra, yaitu: (1) Alat tangkap ikan dan non ikan yang digunakan tidak efektif dan efesien sehingga cepat mengalami kerusakan, dan jumlah hasil tangkapan ikan dan non ikan tidak optimal dan tidak menentu sehingga tidak menigkatkan income generating mitra; dan (2) Alat tangkap ikan dan non ikan yang lama, memiliki kualitas yang rendah, dan tidak memenuhi standar kelayakan. Metode PKM menggunakan kombinasi metode RRA (Rapid Rural Appresial) dan PRA (Partisipatori Rural Appresial) dengan teknik: 1) Ceramah, 2) Diskusi interaktif, 3) Demonstrasi, dan 4) Praktik langsung. Pengabdian ini memberikan hasil yaitu: 1) 85% mitra memahami berbagai inovasi teknologi dalam perikanan yang efektif dan efesien; 2); 87% mitra memahami cara membuat dan menggunakan bubu payung yang terbuat dari bahan berkualitas dan tahan lama sehigga dapat memberikan hasil tangkapan yang banyak; 3) 43% Mitra mengalami peningkatan income generating.

Abstract

This village development program aims to develop Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) cultivation using floating net cage system. The main target was tilapia production to increase income for community. This program was conducted for 6 months with the target of Pokdakan Sepakat Makmur located in the village of Alur Cucur. The main problems faced by the group were the lack of knowledge about tilapia cultivation techniques using floating net cage, aquaculture activities are still conventionally in earthen ponds. In addition, the capital stock is lacking, and financial administration records are still weak. The activities carried out include: training on fish rearing techniques, making floating net cages by partners who were accompanied by program implementers, cultivating tilapia in rivers using floating net cages, and distributing partner products. At the end of the activity, an evaluation of the implementation and sustainability of the program was carried out after completion of implementation activities.

Abstract

Abstrak: Ikan sembilang (Plotosus canius) adalah ikan konsumsi yang banyak  digemari oleh masyarakat pesisir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis beberapa aspek biologi ikan sembilang di perairan estuaria langsa. Jumlah ikan yang diamati sebanyak 100 ekor ikan (78 ekor ikan jantan dan 22 ekor ikan betina). Pengamatan dilakukan pada hubungan panjang berat, faktor kondisi, tingkat kematangan gonad dan kebiasaan makan ikan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan  bahwa ikan sembilang jantan berada pada kisaran 26 – 39 cm dan berat 95 – 280 gr. Sedangkan ikan betina berada pada kisaran panjang 28 – 36,3 dan berat 117 – 214 g. Hubungan panjang berat memiliki pola pertumbuhan alometrik negatif dimana nilai b= 2.582 untuk jantan dan b= 1.526 untuk betina dengan korelasi mendekati 1 mengindikasikan pola petumbuhan panjang selalu di ikuti dengan pertambahan beratnya (r =0,88) untuk jantan dan (r=0,71) untuk betina. Nilai rata-rata faktor kondisi jantan dan betina 1.1048 dan 1.0102 menunjukkan kondisi jantan lebih baik dari betina. Ditemukan tingkat kematangan gonad sembilang I dan II pada ukuran tubuh yang berbeda. Organisme yang ditemukan dalam saluran pencernaan terdiri atas lima jenis yakni udang, cacing, potongan ikan, kepiting dan tercerna. IP>40% pada jenis makanan udang 42% yang berarti sebagai makanan utama

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi budidaya perikanan terutama udang windu terus meningkat seiring dengan meningkatnya kebutuhan produk itu dipasar domestik. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk mengedukasi anggota kelompok pembudidaya ikan melalui teknologi mesin pakan pelet udang ramah lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan edukatif dan transfer teknologi melalui serangkaian tahapan antaranya koordinasi, sosialisasi, pelaksanaan kegiatan, pendampingan serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Seluruh tahapan kegiatan yang tercatat melalui lembar post test memperlihatkan 54,4% anggota pokdakan cukup memahami materi formula dan pemilihan bahan baku pembuatan pakan pelet, 36,3% anggota kelompok mengetahui komposisi bahan baku yang digunakan dalam pembuatan pakan pelet udang, 72,7% anggota mengetahui teknik penjemuran pakan pelet udang windu, 90,9% anggota pokdakan mengetahui bentuk dan warna pakan pelet yang disukai oleh udang windu, 50% anggota kelompok mengetahui kandungan protein, karbonhidrat, lemak, vitamin dan mineral pada pakan yang dihasilkan dan 59% anggota pokdakan mengetahui teknik pencatatan produk. Disimpulkan bahwa 62% pengetahuan anggota kelompok meningkat terutama dalam aspek tatacara pembuatan pakan pelet udang, jenis tumbuhan yang bisa dijadikan pakan alami serta teknik pengemasan produk

Abstract

Pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan untuk mendukung ketahanan pangan secara berkelanjutan dikenal dengan istilah Pekarangan Pangan Lestari (P2L). Tujuan dari P2L adalah meningkatkan ketersediaan, aksesibilitas, pemanfaatan, dan pendapatan masyarakat melalui kegiatan berbasis lahan pekarangan. Program ini merupakan inisiatif pemerintah dalam mengatasi ketidakpastian pangan. Kelompok Tani “Kembang Seroja” merupakan kelompok tani aktif yang berada didesa Matang Cincin Kecamatan Manyak Payed. Mata pencaharian dari anggota kelompok tani sebagian besar merupakan petani sawah yang penghasilan dari hasil panen hanya mampu memenuhi kebutuhan beras untuk di konsumsi sehari-hari. Sedangkan untuk sayur mayur dan lauk protein tidak terpenuhi. Berdasarkan hasil survey lapangan, mitra masing-masing memiliki pekarangan rumah yang berpotensi untuk P2L. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini menggunakan pendekatan secara langsung, ceramah, dan praktik. Kegiatan program P2L ini berjalan dengan baik. Mitra mampu meningkatkan produksi tanaman dan sayuran untuk kebutuhan keluarganya masing-masing. Tanaman/sayuran tersebut dikonsumsi sendiri dan sebagiannya dijual sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga. Mitra meyakini bahwa program P2L ini dapat mendukung ketahanan pangan masyarakat, mendukung kesehatan keluarga, menambah gizi keluarga, serta berperan dalam mengurangi dan mencegah terjadinya stunting.
