Abstract

Abstract

The low level of Qur’anic literacy is often rooted in methodological stagnation that traps students in textual boredom. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the simulation method in improving students’ Qur’anic reading and writing skills (Baca Tulis Al-Qur’an/BTA) at MTs Negeri Batu Bara Regency. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles involving 36 students as research participants. Data collection instruments consisted of cognitive-practical ability tests and observation sheets assessing teacher and student activities. The findings demonstrated a highly significant and progressive improvement in learning outcomes. The class average score increased from 55.83 in the pre-cycle stage to 75.83 in Cycle I, and reached 89.72 at the end of Cycle II. Classically, the learning mastery percentage rose sharply from 36.11% to 94.44%, indicating that the simulation method successfully transformed theoretical understanding into well-established motoric competencies. This study concludes that the simulation method is effective in addressing the challenges of Qur’anic reading and writing instruction through strengthening habituation aspects (ta‘wid) and encouraging active student engagement. The implications of these findings recommend the use of simulation as a primary instructional strategy for madrasah educators to enhance Qur’anic literacy standards in an applicative and sustainable manner.

Abstract

Mathematics learning, particularly in statistics topics, still faces the problem of low student learning motivation, which is influenced by the use of less varied instructional strategies. This study aims to develop a Wordwall-based educational mathematics game as a learning medium for statistics that is valid, practical, and allows observation of its impact on students’ learning motivation. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects were tenth-grade students of SMA Sjakhyakirti, with a field trial conducted in class X.3 involving 37 students. Data collection methods included questionnaires and interviews. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques. The results showed that the developed media had a very high level of validity, with percentages of 90.66% from media experts and 93.75% from subject matter experts. Student responses indicated a practicality level of 97.11%, categorized as very practical. In addition, the percentage of students’ learning motivation reached 97.08%, categorized as very high. Therefore, the Wordwall-based educational mathematics game media is feasible to be used as an alternative learning medium to enhance students’ learning motivation in statistics at the senior high school.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine phenotypic variability of mung bean M2 and M3 Mutant populations resulted from gamma ray irradiation. The Field experiment was conducted by using a completely randomized design in which three populations including M2, M3 and the parent (M0) were planted in 2017. Each population was planted in a plot of 3 m x 2 m with planting space of 30 cm x 20 cm to obtain 100 individual plant per plot. Every population was repeated 5 times so to get 500 plants per population. Observations were collected on all individuals in the population including plant height, number of stem internodes, length of internode, number of primary branches, age of flowering plants, date of harvest, length of pods, number of filled pods, number of seeds per pod, number of seeds per plant, weight of seeds per plants, and weights of 100 seeds. The results showed that gamma ray irradiation produced mung bean plants with a similar date of harvest. It could be seen from mean values which were not significantly different, the values of diversity, and range were almost equal which indicates the diversity of M2, M3 and M0 populations was relatively similar to the control. M2 and M3 generation of mung bean have large and high quality seeds weighing more than 6.5 g/100 seeds. The homogeneity of variance (HOV) analysis showed that variance of all population of all parameters observed were not homogeny except for plant height, number of stem internode and weight of 100 seeds.
