Abstract

This study investigates the correlation between the intensity of playing Mobile Legends and vocabulary development among senior high school students. The growing adoption of digital games for educational purposes—particularly in language learning—necessitates research into their integration within structured learning environments. Utilizing a quantitative correlational design, the study involved 25 purposively selected students from SMA Labschool Untad Palu who actively participated in a Mobile Legends extracurricular program. Data were collected through a 15-item Likert-scale questionnaire measuring gameplay intensity and a 30-item vocabulary test targeting common nouns, verbs, and adjectives derived from gameplay contexts. The questionnaire demonstrated strong internal consistency (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.882), and all items were deemed valid. Results from the Pearson Product-Moment correlation analysis indicated a moderate, statistically significant relationship between gameplay intensity and vocabulary acquisition (r = 0.538, p = 0.005). These findings suggest that structured digital gameplay in English-language environments can support incidental vocabulary learning and serve as an effective pedagogical supplement to conventional instruction.

Abstract

Communication is the process of conveying messages from leaders to subordinates, which plays an important role in educational management. In the context of schools, principals have a strategic responsibility to build effective communication in order to improve teacher performance. The background of this study stems from the importance of the principal's role in creating a conducive work environment through communication strategies, particularly at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Qismul'aly Al-Washliyah on Jl. Ismailiyah, which faces challenges in interpersonal communication and technological adaptation. This study aims to describe and analyze the principal's communication strategies in improving teacher performance. The research was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Qismul'aly Al-Washliyah, located in Medan, North Sumatra. The method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that the principal implemented strategies such as understanding teachers' personalities, crafting effective messages, establishing appropriate communication methods, and selecting digital communication media such as LMS applications to convey information. These strategies have positively impacted the quality of teachers' work, the effectiveness of teaching, and the creation of a more conducive classroom environment. Additionally, supporting factors include school facilities and the emotional closeness between the principal and teachers. However, challenges were also identified, including time constraints, inadequate resources, and digital communication barriers. In conclusion, appropriate school principal communication strategies can significantly enhance teacher performance through a personalized approach, appropriate media use, and participatory leadership

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine whether peer feedback techniques can improve students' writing skills at Man Insan Cendekia KOTA PALU. This research employed a quasi-experimental design, which consisted of two groups, namely the control group and the experimental group. Researchers gave pre-tests to determine the ability of the two groups before giving treatment. The pre-test result showed that the control group scored higher than the experimental group. Then, the researchers gave the treatment using peer feedback techniques in the learning process to the experimental group. Finally, researchers gave the post-test to both groups. The post-test result showed that the experimental group achieved higher scores compared to the control group. It is because of the use of peer feedback techniques that students can identify mistakes in their writing and receive suggestions from peers, so they are able to write texts well according to comments and suggestions from their friends. The results of the research show that the use of peer feedback techniques has a positive effect on improving students' writing skills at Man Insan Cendekia Kota Palu
