discipline and teacher teaching variations on learning outcomes in social studies subjects for grade IX students at SMP Negeri 1 Tapian Dolok. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research with a study population of 112 grade IX students at SMP Negeri 1 Tapian Dolok, and the sample used is all students who are part of the population. The sampling technique used is Non sampling The sampling technique used is non-sampling. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation and questionnaires (questionnaires). The hypothesis data collection technique uses multiple regression analysis, a partial test (t), a simultaneous test (f), and a coefficient of determination (R2).The results stated that: 1) There is a positive and significant influence of learning discipline on student learning outcomes, as seen from the t test, where the calculated value of learning discipline (4.596) > the ttable value (1.981). 2) There is a positive influence of teacher teaching variation on student learning outcomes: This result is seen in the t test, where the calculated value of teacher teaching variation (2.508) > ttable, (1.981), which means that the variable has an effect. 3) Learning discipline and teacher teaching variations together affect learning outcomes, these results can be seen in the F test, where the Fcalculate value (67.432) > the Ftable value (3.08). The R squared coefficient of determination test is known to be 0.553, which means 55.3% of learning discipline variables and teacher teaching variations affect learning outcomes in social studies subjects of grade IX students of SMP Negeri 1 Tapian Dolok. While 44.7% is the influence of other variables that were not studied in this study.Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the learning discipline and teaching variations of teachers have a significant effect on the learning outcomes in social studies subjects of grade IX students of SMP Negeri 1 Tapian Dolok.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of differentiated instruction for students with special needs in an inclusive elementary school, specifically at SD Swasta YP HKBP Pematangsiantar. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design to obtain an in-depth understanding of how differentiated instruction is applied in real classroom settings. The research participants included the school principal, classroom teachers, special assistant teachers, and students with special needs as observation subjects. Data were collected through participatory observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that differentiated instruction was implemented through adaptations in content, process, product, and assessment. Teachers designed adaptive lesson plans with tiered learning objectives, simplified worksheets, scaffolding strategies, and flexible learning time for students with special needs. Collaboration between classroom teachers and special assistant teachers played a significant role in supporting effective implementation. Individualized approaches and motivational reinforcement also contributed to improving students’ participation and self-confidence. However, several challenges were identified, including limited professional training, administrative workload, and teacher–student ratio. The study concludes that differentiated instruction serves as an effective pedagogical strategy in promoting inclusive education that is responsive to student diversity.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Project-Based Learning (PBL) model on the learning outcomes of students in the General Journal subject for grade X Accounting and Financial Institution program at SMK Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar. The background of this research is based on the low learning outcomes of students, which have not met the Minimum Competency Criteria (KKM), caused by conventional teaching methods that are less varied and limited active involvement from students during the learning process. This research employs a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design using a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design approach. The sample consisted of two classes: an experimental class taught using the Project-Based Learning model, and a control class taught using conventional methods. The instrument used was a 35-item multiple-choice test that had been validated and tested for reliability. Data analysis was performed using the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test due to the non-normal distribution of data as determined by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk normality tests. The results revealed a significant increase in learning outcomes for the experimental class compared to the control class. The average pretest and posttest scores of the experimental class increased from 43.71 to 74.29, while the control class scores increased from 38.00 to 66.43. Wilcoxon test results showed a significance value of p = 0.000 (<0.05) for both classes, indicating that the improvement in learning outcomes was statistically significant. This demonstrates that the implementation of the Project-Based Learning model effectively enhances students’ conceptual understanding and skills in the General Journal subject. The study concludes that Project-Based Learning has a significant positive effect on improving student learning outcomes. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers and schools consistently implement this model in teaching to create a more active, creative, and enjoyable learning environment, as well as to sustainably improve student achievement. Furthermore, this study can serve as a reference for future research development in vocational learning or other subjects relevant to workforce demands.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of income and lifestyle on Paylater services among students of the Economics Education Study Program at HKBP Nommensen University, Pematangsiantar. This research employs a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The population consisted of 305 active students, and a sample of 173 respondents was selected using the purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression tests with the assistance of SPSS version 25. The results of the study indicate that (1) income has a positive and significant effect on Paylater services, (2) lifestyle has a positive and significant effect on Paylater services, and (3) income and lifestyle simultaneously have a significant influence on Paylater services among students. This implies that the higher the income and the more consumptive the lifestyle of students, the greater their tendency to use Paylater services
