Abstract

Background: The outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been designated by WHO as a pandemic, causing health services to be significantly disrupted and delayed globally, especially the implementation of the antenatal class. The participation of pregnant women in antenatal classes in Semarang City is only around 25% of the total number of the public health center in the Semarang city area during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021. There is need a for media innovation in the antenatal class during the pandemic so that antenatal class can still be carried out safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.Purpose: To produce an antenatal class application that can facilitate pregnant women to attend antenatal classes virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic and test the implementation effect of the application on the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of pregnant women. Methods: This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method, divided into five stages (Data Collection, Product Design, Design Validation, Design Revision, and Product Trial).Results: An application has been created named PiCCa (Pregnancy Class Center); the test result is feasible to use with a result of 82% and can be used as antenatal class media with a result of 4.32 (p=0.000). The implementation of the PiCCa application can increase knowledge from 12.8 to 18.13 (p=0.000), attitude from 65.36 to 92.3 (p=0.000), and behavior of pregnant women from 19.53 to 32.2 (p=0.000).Conclusion: The PiCCa application is feasible and can be used as an online media for antenatal classes during the COVID-19 pandemic, and its application has a significant effect on increasing the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of pregnant women.

Abstract

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has become a new stressor with significant pregnancy consequences, limiting access to health services. Mindfulness-Based Art Therapy (MBAT) has been proven to intervene in the body-mind-soul and improve mental health problems. However, no research has developed it into a form of artificial intelligence for use by pregnant women in supporting the current situation of access to health services.Purpose: This study aims to produce a system of MBAT based on artificial intelligence for early detection and to prove the effectiveness of improving mental health in pregnant women.Methods: This study employed Research & Development consisting of 4 stages, namely Literature Study, Development Stage, Validity Expert, and Trial.Results: The MBAT application has five features, from mental health information to history. The validity score of the application system is 87.33%. The trial results showed that the application effectively reduces stress levels by 91.26% and anxiety by 90.24%. Also, the application can predict the percentage reduction in stress and anxiety levels correctly and without errors using the decision tree.Conclusion: This application is helpful for pregnant women and health workers in detecting stress and anxiety levels early in pregnancy and improving mental health.

Abstract

Background: Swallow's nest has a glycol content of proteins, carbohydrates (25.62–27.26%), and proteins (62–63%); protein is an indispensable content for the healing process of perineal wounds, protein plays the main ingredient in cell formation, and repairs damaged tissues. In previous studies, swallow's nest extract against perineal wounds in mice obtained the results of accelerated healing on days 3 and 4. However, no studies have been conducted on human perineal injuries.Purpose: Knowing the effectiveness of the swallow's nest extract gel (Aerodramus Fuciphagus) 30% against wound healing and a decrease in the number of colonies of staphylococcus aureus bacteria in the perineal wounds of the postpartum mother.Methods: This experiment study has a post-test with a control group design. The sample comprised 34 postpartum maternal respondents divided into two groups randomly (intervention and control groups). The intervention group was given gel from swallow's nest extract while the control group carried out a dry clean treatment; both were treated to the wound. Perineal wound healing based on REEDA scores was analyzed using the Friedman test, while bacteria in perineal wounds were analyzed using the Man-Whitney test.Results: Based on the REEDA scale, the perineal wound healing rate in the intervention group was better, where healing had already occurred on day 5, compared to the control group that occurred on day 7 (p<0.0001). The number of bacteria in the perineal wounds of the intervention group was less, with an average of 0.06 CFU, compared to the control group's average control group's average of 1.11 CFU (p<0.05).Conclusion: Swallow's nest extract is influential and beneficial in healing perineal wounds in postpartum mothers and has antibacterial activity.

Abstract

Background: Labor pain feels tremendous, and only 2-4% of mothers low pain during labor. Heat therapy is a non-pharmacological method. The heat therapy is still conventional, and this study uses a relaxation belt with more stable, dry heat media, and comfortable.Objective: This study aims to develop and test a relaxation belt for efforts to reduce labor pain intensity and increase β-endorphin levels in the primigravida of the active labor phase.Method: This study Research and Development (R&D). It consisted of 5 stages; stage I (literature study), stage II (product development), stage III (expert validity and phase I trials), stage IV (product revision and final product), and stage V (phase II trials).Results: The relaxation belt has been created, it has been validity experts test and field trials. The result that the relaxation belt is more effective in reducing pain and increasing β-endorphin levels than warm water compress (mean different pain labor 2.40; p<0.01; effect size 1.72 and mean different increasing β-endorphin levels 53,34; p<0.01; effect size 2.42).Conclusion: The relaxation belt is effective in reducing labor pain intensity and increasing β-endorphin levels.

Abstract

Premenstrual syndrome experienced by adolescent girls has many impacts, such as causing depression, which sometimes leads to suicidal thoughts or self-harm and others. The prevalence of premenstrual syndrome in Indonesia is 80.6% and in Semarang Polytechnic is 99%. By providing an information technology-based Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) therapy model, it is expected to improve sleep quality and reduce premenstrual syndrome scores. This study used Research and Development (R&D) with a true experiment research design with a Pretest - Posttest Group Design. Non-probability sampling with purposive sampling technique was carried out to collect the sample. The results of the feasibility test with experts stated that the SEFT therapy model based on information technology deserved an average value of 88%. The information technology-based SEFT therapy model is effective to improve sleep quality and reducing premenstrual syndrome scores with a p-value of 0.00. The information technology-based SEFT therapy model is feasible to use as a medium to improve sleep quality and reduce premenstrual syndrome scores in adolescent girls.

Abstract

Ovarian cancer is the biggest malignancy problem in female reproduction today. Dr. Hospital H. Abdul Moeloek as a referral center hospital in Lampung province has data that ovarian cancer is the most gynecological cancer with cases that have continued to increase over the past 3 years. The purpose of this study was to determine the risk factors associated with the incidence of ovarian cancer in RSUD Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Lampung Province. This type of research is quantitative with a case-control design. The population was all patients treated in the gynecology room with 70 case samples taken using total sampling and 70 control samples using simple random sampling. The results showed that the factors related to the incidence of ovarian cancer in RSUD Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek included age (p-value = 0.001 and OR = 13.5 with 95% CI = 6.01-30.31), history of breastfeeding (p-value = 0.009 and OR = 2.684 with 95% CI = 1.326 -5.432), and a history of contraception (p-value = 0.001 and OR = 3.882 with 95% CI = 1.855-8.126). While the age of menarche and parity has no relationship with the incidence of ovarian cancer. From the research results expected, the high incidence of ovarian cancer in Lampung province can be socialized properly in society, so that people understand and can prevent ovarian cancer early.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Perineal lesions often occur during labor. Perineal lesions cause discomfort and complications if not treated immediately. Bitter melon leaf (Momordica charantia) is known to contain flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, and triterpenoids that have activity as a fibrinolysis booster and can reduce wound inflammation. The aim of this research was to determine the the effectiveness of bitter melon leaf extract gel (Momordica charantia) compared to a control group on perineal wound healing in rats (Rattus norvegicus).This research used True Experiment with Randomized Post Test Only Control Group Design. The samples used were 18 female Wistar rats gave wounds as long as ±1.5 cm and a wound depth of 4 mm in the perineal area of rats. The samples were divided into 2 groups, namely the intervention group was given 7% bitter melon leaf extract gel as much as 1 gram in each administration with a frequency of 2x1 for 7 days, while the control group was given dry clean treatment with a frequency of 2x1 for 7 days. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. Data analysis using Friedman test and Mann Whitney test. The measuring instrument uses REEDA scale on days 1 to 7. Bitter melon leaf extract gel was faster and improved perineal wounds on day 5 (0.00±0.00) p=0.00 and control group on day 7 (0.89±0.60) p=0.00. Giving 7% bitter melon leaf extract gel for 7 days is effective for healing perineal wounds. Keywords: Bitter Melon Leaf Extract, Gel, Perineal Wounds, Wound Healing  ABSTRAK Luka perineum sering terjadi selama proses persalinan. Luka perineum menimbulkan ketidaknyamanan dan komplikasi jika tidak segera ditangani. Daun pare (Momordica charantia) diketahui mengandung flavonoid, alkaloid, tanin, saponin, alkaloid dan triterpenoid yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai pemacu fibrinolisis dan dapat mengurangi peradangan luka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas gel ekstrak daun pare (Momordica charantia) dibandingkan kelompok kontrol terhadap penyembuhan luka perineum pada tikus (Rattus norvegicus). Penelitian ini menggunakan True Experiment dengan metode rancangan randomized posttest-only control. Sampel menggunakan 18 ekor tikus betina galur wistar yang berikan luka sepanjang ±1,5 cm dan kedalaman luka 4 mm pada daerah perineum tikus. Sampel dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok intervensi diberikan gel ekstrak daun pare 7% sebanyak 1 gram dalam setiap pemberian dengan frekuensi 2x1 selama 7 hari, sedangkan kelompok kontrol diberikan perawatan bersih kering dengan frekuensi 2x1 selama 7 hari. Teknik sampling menggunakan simple random sampling. Analisis data menggunakan Friedman test dan Mann Whitney test. Alat ukur menggunakan skala  REEDA pada hari ke-1 sampai ke-7. Gel ekstrak daun pare lebih cepat dalam proses penyembuhan luka perineum pada hari ke-5 (0,00±0,00) p=0,00 dibandingkan kelompok kontrol pada hari ke-7 (0,89±0,60) p=0,00. Pemberian gel ekstrak daun pare 7% selama 7 hari efektif untuk menyembuhkan luka perineum. Kata Kunci: Ekstrak Daun Pare, Gel, Luka Perineum, Penyembuhan Luka

Abstract

ABSTRACT Women who have just given birth often experience discomfort due to breast engorgement. Intervention is needed to solve the symptoms of breast engorgement. This study focused on the use of dadap serep leaves in the dosage form of cream as a non-pharmacological therapy to reduce breast engorgement. Determining the effectiveness of dadap serep leaf extract cream in reducing breast engorgement in postpartum mothers. True experiment with posttest-only approach method with control group design on 32 postpartum mother respondents day 2-10 divided into 2 groups. The intervention group was given a dadap serep leaf extract cream and the control group was given a warm water compress. This research measuring instrument uses the Six Point Engorgement Scale (SPES) scale to measure the level of breast engorgement and the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) scale to measure the pain level of breast engorgement.The results of breast engorgement analysis on the fourth day in both groups obtained p value = 0.000 which means that there was an effect of giving dadap serep leaf extract cream on breast engorgement on the fourth day of the intervention. The results of the breast pain score analysis on the fourth day between the two groups obtained a p-value = 0.036 which means that there was an effect of giving dadap serep leaf extract cream on breast pain on the fourth day after the intervention. The use of dadap serep leaf extract cream is more effective in reducing breast engorgement. Keywords: Breast Engorgement, Dadap Serep Leaf, Cream  ABSTRAK Wanita yang baru melahirkan sering mengalami ketidaknyamanan akibat pembengkakan payudara. Intervensi diperlukan untuk mengatasi gejala pembengkakan payudara. Penelitian ini berfokus pada penggunaan daun dadap serep dalam bentuk sediaan krim sebagai terapi non farmakologi untuk mengurangi pembengkakan payudara. Mengetahui efektivitas krim ekstrak daun dadap serep dalam mengurangi pembengkakan payudara pada ibu nifas. True experiment dengan metode pendekatan posttest-only with control group design terhadap 32 responden ibu nifas hari ke 2-10 yang terbagi menjadi 2 kelompok. Kelompok intervensi diberikan krim ekstrak daun dadap serep dan kelompok kontrol diberikan kompres air hangat. Alat ukur penelitian ini menggunakan skala Six Point Engorgement Scale (SPES) untuk mengukur tingkat pembengkakan payudara dan skala Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) untuk mengukur tingkat nyeri pembengkakan payudara. Hasil analisis pembengkakan payudara pada hari keempat pada kedua kelompok didapatkan nilai p value = 0, 000 yang artinya terdapat pengaruh pemberian krim ekstrak daun dadap serep terhadap pembengkakan payudara pada hari keempat intervensi. Hasil analisis skor nyeri payudara pada hari keempat antara kedua kelompok didapatkan nilai p-value= 0,036 yang artinya terdapat pengaruh pemberian krim ekstrak daun dadap serep terhadap nyeri payudara pada hari keempat setelah intervensi. Penggunaan krim ekstrak daun dadap serep lebih efektif dalam mengurangi pembengkakan payudara. Kata Kunci: Pembengkakan Payudara, Daun Dadap Serep, Krim

Abstract

ABSTRACT Malnutrition poses a global challenge. Potentially threatening the quality of future generations. Direct and indirect factors influence children’s nutrition. Prevalence of malnutrition in Indonesia has increased to 7,7%, despite government efforts. Providing supplementary foods such as mackerel and peanut sausage is one potential solution to increase nutrient intake and impact children's weight. This study aims to analyze the effects of the formulation of mackerel (Rastrelliger Kanagurta) and peanut (Arachis Hypogaea L.) sausage on weight gain in malnutrition toddlers. The research method used true experiment with a pretest-posttest with control group design. The sample size consisted of 38 respondents divided into two groups: the intervention group received mackerel and peanut sausage formulation for 14 days, while the control group received MT biscuits as standard care for 14 days. The sampling technique used simple random sampling. Data analysis using Wilcoxon test and Mann Whitney test. The results showed that giving the formulation of mackerel and peanut sausage had a significant effect on weight gain in malnutrition toddlers. The mean difference in weight gain was 0.453 kg for the intervention group and 0.142 kg for the control group (p=0.002). It can be concluded that giving the formulation of mackerel and peanut sausage formulation significantly increases weight gain in malnutrition toddlers. Keywords: Malnutrition, Sausage, Mackerel, Peanut, Weight  ABSTRAK Malnutrisi menjadi tantangan global yang berpotensi mengancam kualitas generasi mendatang. Faktor langsung dan tidak langsung memengaruhi gizi anak. Prevalensi gizi kurang di Indonesia mengalami peningkatan mencapai 7,7%, meskipun telah dilakukan upaya pemerintah. Pemberian makanan tambahan seperti sosis ikan kembung dan kacang tanah menjadi salah satu solusi potensial untuk meningkatkan asupan gizi yang berdampak pada berat badan anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh formulasi sosis ikan kembung (Rastrelliger Kanagurta) dan kacang tanah (Arachis Hypogaea L.) terhadap berat badan pada batita gizi kurang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah true experiment dengan rancangan pretest-posttest with control group design. Jumlah sampel penelitian 38 responden dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok intervensi diberikan formulasi sosis ikan kembung dan kacang tanah selama 14 hari, sedangkan kelompok kontrol diberikan biskuit MT balita sebagai asuhan standar selama 14 hari. Teknik sampling menggunakan simple random sampling. Analisis data menggunakan Wilcoxon test dan Mann Whitney test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian formulasi sosis ikan kembung dan kacang tanah berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap berat badan pada batita gizi kurang. Selisih rata-rata berat badan kelompok intervensi 0,453 kg dan kelompok kontrol 0,142 kg (p=0,002). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian formulasi sosis ikan kembung dan kacang tanah memberikan hasil yang signifikan dalam peningkatan berat badan pada batita gizi kurang. Kata Kunci: Gizi Kurang, Sosis, Ikan Kembung, Kacang Tanah, BB

Abstract

Background: In Asia, more than 54.7% of postpartum mothers experience sleep deprivation, ranging from 50.9%. Massage can increase the levels of endorphins in the body and stimulate the central nervous system (CNS). This study aimed to determine the effect of Pointer Finger Friction (PFF) Massage on β-Endorphin Levels and Sleep Quality in Postpartum Mothers in Semarang City.Method: This study was quasi-experimental with a pre-posttest control group design. The population consisted of postpartum mothers in the Semarang City Health Center area, and samples were obtained by simple random sampling. The number of samples were 36 postpartum mothers who were divided into 2 groups. The treatment in the intervention group with PFF was carried out five times, starting on the first postpartum day. Venous blood was collected before and after treatment to measure endorphin levels and sleep quality. Data analysis was performed using the Mann–Whitney U test.Result: The results of the study showed most of the respondents were 23 years old and had a high school education (82.9%). The average level of β-endorphins after the treatment group was 135 mg/ml higher than that of the control group (38 pg/ml), and the quality of sleep after the treatment group decreased by 3.5 compared to the control group, with a score of 0.9. There was a relationship between the levels of β-endorphins and sleep quality between the PFF and control groups. To increase the levels of β-endorphins and the quality of sleep of postpartum mothers, we can promote and educate people about the use of the PFF massage method.
