Abstract

The screening results at the Purwodadi II Health Center indicated an increase in cases of HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis B in 2021-2022; specifically, HIV increased from 0 to 1 case, Syphilis from 0 to 2 cases, and Hepatitis B from 6 to 10 cases. In order to reduce the incidence rate, the government conducted screenings during the integrated ANC, which included a Triple Elimination examination consisting of HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis B tests. The purpose of the study was to determine the characteristics, knowledge, and attitudes of pregnant women about Triple Elimination at Purwodadi II Health Center. This research was conducted in the Purwodadi II Health Center area using a descriptive research design. The study population consisted of pregnant women who had not undergone the Triple Elimination examination at the Purwodadi II Health Center in 2023. The sampling technique involved accidental sampling of 79 respondents. The results showed that most pregnant women in the reproductive age category were healthy, had secondary education, and mostly were housewives and multiparous, with limited knowledge and negative attitudes towards Triple Elimination. Therefore, the health workers need to provide education about Triple Elimination to enhance the knowledge and positive attitudes of pregnant women in the future.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Perineal lesions often occur during labor. Perineal lesions cause discomfort and complications if not treated immediately. Bitter melon leaf (Momordica charantia) is known to contain flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, and triterpenoids that have activity as a fibrinolysis booster and can reduce wound inflammation. The aim of this research was to determine the the effectiveness of bitter melon leaf extract gel (Momordica charantia) compared to a control group on perineal wound healing in rats (Rattus norvegicus). This research used True Experiment with Randomized Post Test Only Control Group Design. The samples used were 18 female Wistar rats gave wounds as long as ±1.5 cm and a wound depth of 4 mm in the perineal area of rats. The samples were divided into 2 groups, namely the intervention group was given 7% bitter melon leaf extract gel as much as 1 gram in each administration with a frequency of 2x1 for 7 days, while the control group was given dry clean treatment with a frequency of 2x1 for 7 days. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. Data analysis using Friedman test and Mann Whitney test. The measuring instrument uses REEDA scale on days 1 to 7. Bitter melon leaf extract gel was faster and improved perineal wounds on day 5 (0.00±0.00) p=0.00 and control group on day 7 (0.89±0.60) p=0.00. Giving 7% bitter melon leaf extract gel for 7 days is effective for healing perineal wounds. Keywords: Bitter Melon Leaf Extract, Gel, Perineal Wounds, Wound Healing  ABSTRAK Luka perineum sering terjadi selama proses persalinan. Abstract

Background: The phenomenon of early marriage during the COVID-19 pandemic thatoccurred in Batang Regency increased by 200% compared to the previous year withthe average age of marriage being 17 years. From 2019 to 2020 there has been adecrease of 0.6%, but it has not yet reached the target of reducing it to 8.74% in 2024.One of the factors causing early marriage is the lack of knowledge of reproductive health in adolescents and the risks that can occur due to contraceptives. reproductiveorgans that are not ready for pregnancy and childbirth. This can increase maternaland infant mortality as a standard for a country's health status. Social and economicimpacts also occur due to reduced peer interaction, discontinued education levels, resulting in narrower job opportunities.Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of health educationthrough animated video media on young women's knowledge of early marriage duringa pandemic at SMA Negeri 1 Batang. This type of research uses a quasi-experimentaland pretest-posttest with control design. The sampling technique was simple randomsampling with a total of 134 respondents. Data collection used a questionnaire filledout online via the Google form.Result: The results of the study showed an increase in the average knowledge scorein both the control and experimental groups. In the control group, the increase in scorereached 12.69 ± 2.211, while in the treatment group it experienced a higher increase, namely 22.55 ± 7.509. The results of the Mann Whitney test showed that providinghealth education using animated video media was effective in increasing theknowledge of SMA Negeri 1 Batang students with a p value = 0.000.Keywords: early marriage, animation videos, knowledge

Abstract

Background: Early detection through Breast Self-Examination (BSE) is an easy and affordable preventive effort. Since peers strongly influence adolescents’ health behaviors, peer education is considered an effective way to increase their knowledge and attitudes toward BSE. Method: This study employs a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The study included 42 female adolescents, divided into 21 participants each in the intervention and control groups. The intervention group was given peer education, and the control group was only given a leaflet, then the group's knowledge and attitudes were measured before and after the intervention, and data were collected using a questionnaire. Sampling used simple random sampling based on inclusion criteria, namely 10th grade students, students who were present during the study, and willing to be respondents. Result: There were differences in the intervention group after being compared with the control group. The results showed that the average increase in knowledge in the intervention group was 5.05, while in the control group it was 3.52, with a p-value of 0.004 (<0.05). The average increase in attitude scores in the intervention group was 6.71 compared to 2.86 in the control group, with a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05). Conclusion: The health education intervention was effective in improving respondents' knowledge and attitudes compared to the non-intervention group. Therefore, it is recommended that similar health education programs be implemented more widely in the community and that further research be conducted to assess their long-term effectiveness.

Abstract

Background: Postpartum hemorrhage, defined as blood loss exceeding 500 ml after delivery, is a leading cause of maternal mortality in Indonesia. This condition can lead to serious consequences, including anemia, shock, and even death if not treated promptly and appropriately. Prevention efforts include educating pregnant women about early detection and preventive measures. One intervention is the implementation of pregnancy classes plus an Early Warning System (EWS) as a learning tool to improve mothers' self-efficacy and actions in preventing postpartum hemorrhage. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of pregnancy classes plus an early warning system on actions and self-efficacy in preventing postpartum hemorrhage. Subjects and Methods: This study used a True Experiment with a Pretest-Posttest with Control Group Design. The study location was the Gayamsari Community Health Center in Semarang City. Data collection was conducted from June to July 2025. The intervention group consisted of two groups: the intervention group, which received the pregnancy class with an Early Warning System (EWS), and the control group, which received a standard pregnancy class. The dependent variables studied were women's postpartum hemorrhage prevention practices and self-efficacy, while the independent variable was the early warning system (EWS) class. The analysis technique used was the Wilcoxon test. Results: Women in the intervention group reported higher postpartum hemorrhage prevention practices after the EWS class (median = 20; min-max = 13-20) compared to before the intervention (median = 10; min-max = 3-14) and was statistically significant (p <0.001). Women in the intervention group reported higher postpartum hemorrhage prevention practices after the EWS class (median = 52; min-max = 40-60) compared to before the intervention (median = 25; min-max = 20-35) and was statistically significant (p <0.001). Conclusion: The EWS class and early warning system have been shown to be effective in increasing postpartum hemorrhage prevention practices and efficacy, making them a safe and practical alternative for promotive and preventive interventions.
