Abstract

Pregnancy puts a mother in a condition that is prone to stress due to physical and psychological changes. Mothers with high stress levels are at risk of experiencing complications to the mother and baby during pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium. To analyze the effect of the class of pregnant women and the class of pregnant women plus psychoeducation on cortisol levels and stress levels of pregnant women using a systematic review method. This type of research is a systematic review with the method used is PRISMA. The literature studied ranged from 2015 to 2020. KIH can reduce stress levels and cortisol levels of pregnant women. The search results obtained 25 research articles. The results showed that KIH plus psychoeducation can reduce stress levels and cortisol levels and improve psychosocial well-being compared to standard KIH and antenatal care.

Abstract

Maternal mortality remains a major challenge in Indonesia, particularly due to limited access to health services and low awareness of the importance of regular pregnancy check-ups. The use of information technology in the health sector, such as telemedicine, has shown great potential in improving health services, including for pregnant women. This study aims to examine applications for monitoring the health of pregnant women with chronic energy deficiency (CED), which can support medical personnel and pregnant women in monitoring health effectively. The research design is a Systematic Literature Review of articles or journals published in 2019-2024, accessed on Google Scholar, PubMed and Scopus with the Prisma Flow technique. This study found that telemedicine and digital health applications have great potential in improving access and quality of maternal health monitoring. The Android-based system allows for effective monitoring of nutritional status, vital signs, and communication between pregnant women and medical personnel. The use of digital technology-based health applications can be an effective solution to support monitoring the health of pregnant women so that it can help reduce maternal mortality rates (MMR) and infant mortality rates (IMR) in Indonesia through wider and more efficient access to health information.

Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women is a significant public health problem, especially in developing countries. Iron deficiency in pregnant women can interfere with fetal growth and maternal health. One alternative to increase hemoglobin levels is to consume local foods such as tamarillo and date palm juice, which are rich in iron and vitamin C.Objective: The aim of this study was to identify the effectiveness of consuming tamarillo and date palm juice in increasing hemoglobin levels in pregnant women with anemia based on a systematic literature review.Method: The research design is a Systematic Literature Review of articles or journals published in 2020-2024, accessed on Google Scholar, PubMed and Scopus with the Prisma Flow technique. Relevant articles were selected using the PRISMA flow technique, with the inclusion criteria being in Indonesian or English that can be accessed in full. Results: The results of the analysis of 10 articles showed that consumption of tamarillo and date palm juice significantly increased hemoglobin levels in pregnant women with anemia. The increase in hemoglobin levels ranged from 1.0-2.0 g/dL in the intervention group. Tamarillo is effective due to its vitamin C content which increases the absorption of non-heme iron, while date palm juice provides additional iron and energy to support hemoglobin formation. Conclusions: tamarillo and date palm extract have been proven effective as non-pharmacological interventions in treating anemia in pregnant women. The combination of these two ingredients can be a safe natural alternative and has the potential to increase the success of managing pregnancy anemia

Abstract

Hypertension in pregnancy is one of the causes of morbidity and mortality in mothers and babies. PlGF has been shown to be associated with the diagnosis of hypertensive disorders in pregnancy. Pregnant women with hypertension are characterized by reduced circulating PlGF levels, even before clinical signs and symptoms. A decrease in the amount of PlGF is positively correlated with the severity of disease progression This study aimed to analyze the relationship between PlGF levels and blood pressure in pregnant women with hypertension. Observational analytic with cross sectional study design.  Sampling was total sampling. The number of subject were 34 peoples. The results showed that there was no significant correlation between PlGF levels and blood pressure in pregnant women with hypertension. PlGF levels have no relationship with blood pressure.

Abstract

Stunting is a growth disorder of children under five due to malnutrition, with the prevalence rate in Indonesia in 2023 reaching 21.5%. To reduce stunting rates, premarital and preconception classes are essential in providing knowledge and skills to prospective parents to prevent stunting. This study aims to develop an intervention module for premarital and preconception classes that integrates education on stunting prevention with coping skills training. The study also seeks to measure the effects of the module on participants’ perceived stress, coping skills, and self-efficacy, as part of an effort to strengthen the preparedness of prospective brides in maintaining maternal and child health and preventing stunting. This study is a quasy experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were women in the premarital and preconception period. The sampling technique used was probability sampling, a simple random sampling of 41 people—data analysis using the Wilcoxon Test. The study results showed significant differences in three variables after the premarital class intervention. The stress perception scale experienced a decrease in mean score from 20.93 to 18.83 with a difference of -2.10 (p=0.002). Self-confidence experienced an average increase from 44.76 to 48.27 with a difference of 3.51 (p=0.002). Coping strategies also increased the average score from 97.34 to 99.24, with a difference of 1.90 (p=0.023). Premarital classes are effective in reducing stress and increasing self-confidence and coping strategies. Premarital classes and preconception programs with coping skills need to be expanded to prevent stunting.

Abstract

The screening results at the Purwodadi II Health Center indicated an increase in cases of HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis B in 2021-2022; specifically, HIV increased from 0 to 1 case, Syphilis from 0 to 2 cases, and Hepatitis B from 6 to 10 cases. In order to reduce the incidence rate, the government conducted screenings during the integrated ANC, which included a Triple Elimination examination consisting of HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis B tests. The purpose of the study was to determine the characteristics, knowledge, and attitudes of pregnant women about Triple Elimination at Purwodadi II Health Center. This research was conducted in the Purwodadi II Health Center area using a descriptive research design. The study population consisted of pregnant women who had not undergone the Triple Elimination examination at the Purwodadi II Health Center in 2023. The sampling technique involved accidental sampling of 79 respondents. The results showed that most pregnant women in the reproductive age category were healthy, had secondary education, and mostly were housewives and multiparous, with limited knowledge and negative attitudes towards Triple Elimination. Therefore, the health workers need to provide education about Triple Elimination to enhance the knowledge and positive attitudes of pregnant women in the future.

Abstract

Background: The Obstetric Early Warning System does not seem to be well known among health workers, especially midwives. One way to prevent maternal mortality, which is quite high in Indonesia, is to prevent delays in diagnosis through appropriate screening, thereby enabling quicker treatment, thus resulting in a reduction in cases of maternal mortality. This study tries to discuss the evidence regarding the application of the Obstetric Early Warning System by showing its accuracy in predicting maternal morbidity. Method: A systematic Literature Review is the right choice to collect the latest evidence. Search for articles through electronic browser databases, namely Pubmed and Google Scholar. This browser was chosen because it was considered to have a more complete source based on the research topic, namely obstetric early warning. The key words used are MOEWS, MEWT, MEWC, MEWS in the period 2013-October 2023. Results: A total of 2647 articles were obtained but only 8 selected articles were discussed because they met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Early warning in obstetric patients evaluated in this study consisted of SOS, MOEWS, MEWT, SI, e-CART, MEWC, and MEWS. Conclusion: The obstetric early warning system can predict maternal morbidity, although the level of accuracy varies. All early warning systems always begin with checking vital signs so the assessment needs to be carried out carefully to initiate immediate action if necessary.
