Abstract

Taman Hutan Raya (Tahura) merupakan salah satu bentuk Kawasan Perlindungan Alam (KPA) yang bertujuan sebagai tempat mengkoleksi tumbuhan dan atau hewan yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai tempat penelitian, ilmu pengetahuan, pendidikan, menunjang budidaya, budaya, pariwisata dan rekreasi. Provinsi Jambi mempunya lima Taman Hutan, salah satunya adalah Taman Hutan Raya Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin. Kayu Bulian (Eusideroxylon zwageri Teijsm & Binn.) merupakan salah satu tumbuhan endemik yang berada di dalam kawasan Tahura Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin yang menjadi ciri khas dari keberadaan Tahura Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin. Keberadaan kayu bulian ini sudah mulai langka karena beberapa faktor salah satunya adalah terjadinya kebakaran hutan. Perlu upaya menyelamatkan spesies lokal unggulan bulian dari ancaman berkurangnya pohon indukan bahkan kepunahan serta penyediaan bahan tanaman berupa bibit bulian untuk kegiatan rehabilitasi. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut sangat diperlukan upaya identifikasi terhadap pohon induk dan pembangunan pembibitan spesies unggulan lokal bulian sebagai upaya penyelamatan keberadaan bulian yang tersisa. Dampak kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah mitra telah memiliki peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman terkait menjaga keberadaan Tahura Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin dalam menjaga kelestarian ekosistem, teknik identifikasi jenis-jenis lokal unggulan dan pembuatan bibit jenis-jenis lokal unggulan terutama bulian yang menjadi jenis spesifik yang terdapat di Tahura Sultan Thaha Syaifuddin.

Abstract

Honey is a valuable non-timber forest product widely consumed by communities, with those living near forests sourcing it both from the wild and cultivation. Jujun Village, supported by the Faculty of Agriculture at Jambi University, received assistance in honeybee farming through the Wira Desa program from the Department of Forestry in 2021. As a new venture, continued support was needed to strengthen its potential as an alternative economic source. This study aims to address the challenges of honey farming in Jujun through three main activities: (1) evaluating and strengthening beehive positioning based on natural forage availability to ensure consistent production; (2) improving group members’ skills in honey production and harvesting; and (3) enhancing packaging to facilitate market access. The program, conducted from March to August 2022, followed three phases: socialization, demonstration, and mentoring. Results showed significant improvements in participants' understanding of honey production, harvesting safety, product quality, and packaging. These advancements are expected to ensure the sustainability of honey farming, providing a stable livelihood for the community, especially honey farmers in Jujun Village

Abstract

Cayenne pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) is a horticultural crop of significant economic importance. One of the major threats to its cultivation is the Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), which can cause severe yield losses and crop failures. This study aimed to isolate weak CMV strains from natural populations of cayenne pepper, characterize their molecular properties, and evaluate the effectiveness of cross-protection conferred by weak strains against superinfection by virulent CMV strains. The research was conducted in three stages: virus isolation, molecular characterization, and evaluation of cross-protection effectiveness. Data analysis was performed using the MEGA v.11.0.11 software and analysis of variance (ANOVA). The findings identified the C1 isolate as a highly virulent CMV strain. Molecular analysis of naturally infected samples confirmed the presence of CMV through the amplification of specific DNA bands. Inoculation tests revealed distinct differences between weak and malignant strains, particularly in symptom severity and molecular characteristics, such as genetic distance. Furthermore, the weak strains demonstrated a protective effect, significantly reducing the infection rate of virulent CMV strains. This was evidenced by variations in symptom expression, disease severity, plant resistance, chlorophyll levels, carbohydrate content, and peroxidase enzyme activity. These findings highlight the potential application of weak CMV strains in developing disease management strategies for cayenne pepper cultivation.

Abstract

Textbooks are essential components in learning, but errors are often found, including syntax. It aims to analyze some of the errors found in the textbook used as a reference in learning Arabic at MA Madinatul Ulum and explain the implications of these errors on Arabic Learning. This research uses library research with an applied linguistic approach in error analysis. Data was collected using documentation techniques related to Arabic textbooks, books, journals, and other written works. The data analysis used is a content analysis technique with several steps: identifying, interpreting, and correcting. The research showed that significant syntactic errors were identified. However, the textbook covers various aspects of Arabic skills, such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with various cognitive, psychomotor, and affective tasks. These errors deviate from standard Arabic grammar norms, compromising instructional quality, affecting student evaluations, and posing challenges for teachers. By involving language experts in developing instructional materials, providing training for teachers, and promoting the use of alternative learning resources, it is hoped that syntactic errors in instructional materials can be minimized, thereby enhancing the quality of Arabic learning. Recommendations include thoroughly reviewing and improving materials to ensure adherence to educational standards emphasizing syntactic accuracy. Future research should expand to encompass broader aspects of Arabic instruction beyond syntax, encompassing morphology and semantics to enhance educational effectiveness

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the potency of three mold isolates Bio GGP2, Bio GGP3 and Bio GGP5. The mold isolate was isolated from pineapple waste. Molds are selected have cellulolytic, xylanolytic, ligninolytic, amylolytic, annanolytic, and proteolytic. Enzyme detection on agar media with suitable substrate. Then, the selected fungi were tested for their decomposition ability in pineapple waste. The results of the decomposition test showed that the combination of the three isolates gave the best results of 45% decomposed material at 14 days of age. The three isolates have the potential to be used to decompose cellulose waste from pineapple

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi yang sangat pesat dapat memberikan dampak baik maupun kurang baik bagi perkembangan generasi muda khususnya mereka yang duduk dibangku SMP. Jika tidak disikapi dengan bijak, perkembangan teknologi ini dapat menghambat pembentukan karakter siswa-siswi SMP khususnya SMP Puspita Bangsa yang merupakan mitra dalam kegaiatn pengabdian ini. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, terdapat berbagai persoalan moral yang diakibatkan oleh perkembangan teknologi khususnya sosial media dan game online. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi terhadap permasalahan tersebut. Solusi yang ditawarkan adalah pengenalan pembentukan karakter bagi siswa-siswi SMP Puspita Bangsa melalui drama performance. Kegiatan yang dilakukan dalam pengabdian ini adalah pemaparan materi terkait pentingnya pembentukan karakter, kuis, pementasan drama dan diskusi terkait pesan moral yang dapat diambil dari drama yang sudah dipentaskan tersebut. Dari hasil kegiatan, dapat terlihat bahwa siswa-siswi SMP Puspita Bangsa memahami pesan-pesan moral baik pesan moral negative untuk dihindari maupun pesan moral positif untuk ditiru yang terdapat dalam pementasan drama berjudul Cinderella.
