The purpose of this phenomenological study was to describe and to find out the structural essence of school experience from the perspective of students at risk in vocational high school. This study also explored their achievement goals. A semistructured interview guide was utilized to gaining data from five participants. The application of criterion sampling offered the researcher access to in-depth information on the target topic recorded from the perspective of a specific group of participants who have considerable experience with the phenomenon.The results focused on the following points: (a) the specific and general themes of school experience; (b) the essence of school experience; and (c) the variation of their achievement goal. The essence of school experience is involuntary involvement. The school learning is perceived as a boredom situation. Productive subject matters or practices as thespecific curriculum of vocational high school were valued tiring and wasting time.From the perspective of the achievement goal theory, there are several goals which motivate the participants tostay and to continue their study, for instance: getting a job, achieving good exam scores, exploring and learning more subjects, avoiding parents punishment, avoiding of feeling ashamed andincompetence from others, and being as equal as others.

The new paradigm of learning has placed the students to participate actively in the learning process. One of the consequence is that the learning process must use the variative methods, not only about the transfer of knowledge from teacher to students. This research isaimed to test the impact of Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) to the achievement of Psychology Faculty students in learning Statistics. It is assumesed that the numerical abilityhas a positive correlation to the achievement in studying statistics. So, the respondents numerical ability variabel is controlled using statistics. This research used experiment with Alternative Treatment Posttest Only With Nonequivalent Group Design. Cluster sampling was used to get two of four parallel classes ofStatistics. One class was used randomly as the class taught using TAI and the other class as the control group using conventional teaching method. The numerical ability of the twogroups was tested before getting a different treatment. The teaching with different method was conducted in five sessions.The numerical ability of respondents was tested after the treatment given to the two groups. The mid semester test score of the two groups were compared to the one way covariance analysis with the numerical ability as the covariable. The results indicates that Fscore of the the two groups 10.459, p<0.01. Residual Mean of study achievement for experiment group = 6.997 and control group = 5.464. The result indicates the significant correlation between the numericalal ability and study achievement in statistics (F regression = 43.483, p<0.01 and partial eta squared = 0.316).It can be concluded that there is a significant difference of achievement in studying statistics between the group of students who was taught with Team Assisted Individualizationand with conventional teaching method. The group of students who was taught with Team Assisted Individualization has higher mean score compared to the group taught using the conventional method.

This study aims to test the effect of cooperative learning methods, the jigsaw method to interpersonal relationship skill and teamwork of undergraduate students Faculty of Psychology in University A. This study used experimental method with one group and pre posttest design. There are 63 undergraduate students in Educational Psychology Class of 2008/2009 as the subjects. The measurement instrument was Interpersonal Relationship Skill Scale and Teamwork Scale. Interpersonal relationship and teamwork score compared before and after the learning methods were given and tested using paired samples t test. The result shows that comparing the pretest and posttest score of interpersonal relationship variable, we got t â€1,748 with p = 0,043 (p < 0,05). This is indicated that jigsaw learning method has significant effect to improving the interpersonal relationship skill in undergraduate students. The analysis result in teamwork variable with comparing the pretest and posttest, we got t â€3,50 with p = 0,001 (p < 0,01) which means the jigsaw learning method significantly effective to improving teamwork skill in undergraduate student

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh interferensi dan rehearsal terhadap retensi belajar matematika. Masalah interferensi dan rehearsal menjadi penting untuk diteliti pengaruhnya terhadap retensi karena pada era komunikasi yang demikian pesat seperti sekarang ini informasi yang masuk berbaur antara yang satu dengan yang lain yang menyebabkan orang menjadi lupa, sehingga perlu adanya usaha untuk meningkatkan kekuatan retensi individu.

Mathematics until today is still considered a difficult subject so that it needs to think about appropriate strategies to encourage students to be able to regulate themselves in learning this subject. This study aimed to test empirically the role of classroom management and mastery goal orientation towards self-regulated learning. The participants of the study were 177 students of state high schools in Sleman, who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The scales used were self-regulation of mathematics learning scale, classroom management scale, and mastery goal orientation scale. The data analysis using two-predictor regression analysis showed that classroom management and mastery goal simultaneously played a significant role by 68.7% (R2=0.687, F (2.177) =191.243, p<0.01). Classroom management predicted self-regulation (β= -0.130, p < 0.01), and so did mastery goal (β= 0.878, p < 0.01). Based on the results of this study, it could be concluded that self-regulation in learning Mathematics can be determined through classroom management and mastery goals concurrently.

The current study explore whether or not a creative learning model can serve as the media for implementing a competency-based curriculum. More specifically, this study test the model as it is implemented in elementary school social studies class. Competency based curriculum is designed to enhance a more exciting learning experience, to develop creative thinking and to provide necessary life skills for students. This way, students are expected to gain core competence as a result of their learning (i.e. social studies in this research). The participant of this study were teachers and students in three elementary school in the city of Martapura, Kalimantan, and one elementary school in Banjarmasin, Kalimantan. This study used an action research design. In this design, teachers were trained to apply creative learning model every once a week for a consecutive 8 weeks. After the learning model implementation, data were gathered by using interview, observation and documentation. Results of the study show that 1). The Model is feasible to be applied as the media for competency based curriculum 2). More fun and exciting experience shows up in the learning process 3). Students were actively involved in the class 4). Students creativity was facilitated in their learning 4). Life skills were facilitated and appeared in the learning process. Tujuan penefitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh po/a bela1aryang digunakan siswa kelas 6 sekolah dasar terhadap perolehan NilaiEbtanas Murni (NEM) pada Eva/uasi Be/ajar Tahap Akhir Nasional(EBTANAS) mereka.Cara penelitian adalah dengan mengambil sebanyak enam kelas (239siswa kefas satu) pada tiga SMP Negeri di Kotamadya Yogyakarta. Subyek diminta mengisi angket pola  be/ajar sewaktu mereka duduk di kelas  5 sekofah dasar.Hasil penefitiannya adalah sebagai berikut: Tidak ada  keterkaitanantara po/a be/ajar yang digunakan oleh siswa kelas 6 sekolah dasardengan NEM yang diperoleh.  FaJd'or inteligensi nampaknya febih  dominanpengaruhnya terhadap tinggi-rendahnya perolehan NEM siswa, dan diperoleh indikasi bahwa proses mengajar-befajar pada  siswa kefas 6 sekofah dasar di Kotamadya  Yogyakar1a dapat memberi bekaf pada siswanya untuk menghadapi EBTANAS sepanjang siswa aktif mengikuti proses be/ajar di kefas dan mengerjakan tugas-tugas PR yang diberikan guru s�ara tertib. Kata  Kunc i: Pola belajar, NEM, lnteligensi

Tujuan penelitian ini iatah untuk iiiengetahui-ada-tidaknya korelasi antara kualitas hubungan atasan-bawahan dan persepsi terhadappengembangan karir dengan komitmen karyawan pada perusahaan. Asumsi teon'tiknya adalah semakin berkualitas hubungan atasan-baÂwahan dan semakin positif persepsi karyawan terhadap pengembangankarir, maka komitmen karyawan pada perusahaan semakin tinggi. Subjek penelitian adalah karyawan tetap PT fntan Pariwara; Klaten,yang diambif secara acak sebanyak 107 karyawan dari populasinya,yang memiliki ciri-ciri: masa kerja lebih satu tahun dan pendidikan miniÂmal adalah SLTA. Melalui metode analisis regresi dua prediktor diketahuibahwa terdapat korelasi yang sangat signifikan antara variabel kualitashubungan atasan-bawahan dan variabel persepsi karyawan terhadappengembangan karir dengan komitmen karyawan pada perusahaan.Secara sendin"·sendiri diketahui bahwa terdapat korelasi positif yangsangar signifikan baik antara variabel kualitas hubungan atasan-bawahandengan komitmen karyawan pada perusahaan, maupun antara persepSIkaryawan terhadap perkembangan karir dengan komitmen ka,yawanpada perusahaan.
