Abstract

Coronaviruses have been known since 2002 in the case of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). SARS-CoV-2, the cause of the COVID-19 pandemic, is believed to be an evolution of the SARS-causing coronavirus (SARS-CoV). This evolution shows the complex interaction dynamics between the virus and the host, which have characterized the emergence of new SARS-CoV-2 strain variations until now. Therefore, the search for these antiviral drugs is still critical. MPro is one of the important proteins for the life cycle of pathogenic coronaviruses, so it is an attractive target for developing drugs that inhibit this virus. This study examined the interaction of teicoplanin derivatives and vancomycin as SARS-CoV-2 MPro (6LU7) inhibitors through molecular docking with Autodock Vina. The smallest RMSD value was selected and stored to calculate the energy value. The image of atoms in the ligand and receptor was processed with Autodock Tools, LigPlus, and PyMOL. The study showed that teicoplanin derivatives such as teicoplanin aglycone, teicoplanin-A3-1, and vancomycin had the potential as SARS-CoV-2 Mpro inhibitors. Based on the interaction at the active site and the obtained ΔG values, even the teicoplanin aglycon had a more significant inhibitory potential than other potent inhibitors such as N3.

Abstract

Anemia is a serious maternal health problem that can result in long-term negative impacts such as preeclampsia, hemorrhage before and after delivery, stunting, reduced baby immunity, fetal retardation growth, and fetal death. Moringa oleifera is a miracle plant that has been used for anemia treatment. This study aimed to analyze systematically the effect of M. oleifera leaves on hemoglobin levels and dietary intake of iron and zinc in pregnant women with anemia. Our study used the Cochrane tool to select all randomized control trial (RCT) articles and met the requirements of the PRISMA diagram, filtered using some keywords: pregnant women, anemia, M.oleifera powder, and Fe supplements. The selected articles were further screened using the Population, Intervention, Comparator, Outcomes, and Study Type (PICOS) protocol and assessed for their quality using the Cochrane tool bias risks. Five full-text articles used M.oleifera leaves for anemia treatment in women with their first and or third trimester pregnancies. However, increased Hb levels in pregnant women who consumed 100g of fresh M.oleifera leaves with iron supplementation were higher than that of pregnant women who consumed M oleifera powder and extract. In addition, only one full-text article reported dietary intake of Fe and Zn as secondary outcomes after treating M. oleifera leaves. In conclusion, the administration of M. oleifera leaves has a minor effect on Hb levels and no effect on dietary intake of Fe and Zn in pregnant women with anemia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara status gizi dengan kebugaran jasmani atlet taekwondo remaja. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 30 atlet taekwondo remaja, sampel diambil menggunakan metode secara acak sederhana yaitu simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data meliputi status gizi dengan cara pengambilan data antropometri berat badan dan tinggi badan, kebugaran jasmani dengan menggunakan tes lari MFT (multistage fitness). Analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji korelasi pearson product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara status gizi dengan kebugaran jasmani (p= 0,028). Nilai R sebesar -0,401 menunjukkan kekuatan hubungan yang sedang, nilai negatif menunjukkan hubungan yang terbalik pada variabel. Status gizi lebih maka kebugaran jasmani menurun. status gizi berhubungan dengan kebugaran jasmani. Atlet yang memiliki status gizi yang baik cenderung memiliki kebugaran jasmani yang baik pula. Perlu dilakukan penambahan informasi terkait gizi pada atlet sehingga terciptanya status gizi baik serta kebugaran jasmani yang baik pada atlet.

Abstract

Sindrom metabolik merupakan sekumpulan kelainan metabolik yang kompleks dan berkaitan dengan terjadinya dislipidemia yang ditandai dengan adanya perubahan profil lipid yang abnormal meliputi peningkatan kadar trigliserida, kadar low-density lipoprotein (LDL) dan rendahnya kadar high-density lipoprotein (HDL). Ekstrak biji durian mengandung senyawa flavonoid, alkaloid, fenolik dan triterpenoid yang berpotensi dalam memperbaiki profil lipid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengamati ekstrak biji durian dalam perbaikan profil lipid. Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimental laboratorium desain pretest-posttest dengan kelompok kontrol. Sebanyak 30 ekor tikus jantan galur Wistar usia 8 minggu, berat 150-200 g dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok. Kelompok kontrol normal (NG) yaitu tikus yang diberi pakan standar, sedangkan 5 kelompok ainnya dibuat model sindrom metabolik dengan diberi diet High Fat High Fructose (HFHFr) 14 hari dan induksi  Streptozotocin (STZ)-Nicotinamide (NA), meliputi kelompok kontrol negatif (NC), yang diberi aquades, dan kelompok kontrol positif (PC), yang diberi simvastatin 0,9 mg/kgBB. Kelompok perlakuan yaitu kelompok perlakuan 1 (TG1), kelompok perlakuan 2 (TG2), dan kelompo perlakuan 3 (TG3), diberikan ekstrak biji durian dosis 100, 200, dan 300 mg/kgBB selama 21 hari. Data dianalisis menggunakan Paired T-test dan One-way ANOVA, dengan signifikansi p<0,05. Hasil menunjukkan setelah 21 hari pemberian ekstrak biji durian terjadi penurunan kadar trigliserida dan LDL serta peningkatan kadar HDL yang signifikan (p<0,05), yang mana perubahan terbesar terjadi pada kelompok dosis 300 mg/kgBB dengan trigliserida sebesar -38,24 ± 6,45 mg/dl, LDL -45,67 ± 2,71 mg/dl dan HDL 54,22 ± 2,72 mg/dl. Pemberian ekstrak biji durian dapat memperbaiki profil lipid pada sindrom metabolik dengan dosis terbaik yaitu 300 mg/kgBB.
