Abstract

Media visual berfungsi sebagai alat bantu pembelajaran yang mengandalkan indra penglihatan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran. Berdasarkan pengamatan awal, metode ceramah dan pembelajaran berbasis buku teks masih mendominasi proses pembelajaran, sehingga diperlukan inovasi dalam pemanfaatan media visual untuk meningkatkan partisipasi dan pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan media visual dalam pengajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) serta dampaknya terhadap minat belajar siswa kelas lima di SDN 008 Tana Tidung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk memperoleh pemahaman mendalam tentang efektivitas media visual dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media visual, seperti gambar, poster, dan diagram, meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, membuat materi lebih mudah dipahami, dan membantu mencegah kebosanan di kelas. Siswa menjadi lebih antusias dalam belajar, berpartisipasi lebih aktif dalam mengajukan pertanyaan, dan menunjukkan peningkatan dalam hasil belajar mereka.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini menggunakan metode Participatory Action Research (PAR) yang memungkinkan keterlibatan aktif guru dalam proses lokakarya untuk memperkuat kemampuan numerasi siswa. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh tahapan kegiatan dapat diselesaikan dengan baik, dan pelaksanaan berjalan lancar. Berdasarkan angket yang diisi oleh peserta, sebanyak 58.3% menyatakan setuju dan 41.7% sangat setuju bahwa kegiatan ini efektif. Mayoritas guru mengakui pelatihan ini memperdalam pemahaman mereka dalam mengembangkan kemampuan numerasi siswa, dengan 66.7% menjawab sangat setuju dan 33.3% setuju. Sebanyak 83.3% guru sangat setuju bahwa pelatihan ini meningkatkan kompetensi mereka, sementara 16.7% menyatakan setuju. Selain itu, pemaparan materi oleh narasumber dianggap jelas oleh 58.3% guru yang menjawab setuju dan 41.7% yang sangat setuju. Pemateri juga dinilai menguasai topik dengan baik, ditunjukkan oleh 50% responden yang setuju dan 50% yang sangat setuju. Materi yang disampaikan membantu guru merancang kegiatan untuk penguatan numerasi siswa, dengan 58.3% menyatakan setuju dan 41.7% sangat setuju. Partisipasi aktif terlihat dengan 83.3% guru aktif dalam diskusi dan tanya jawab, dan sisanya menunjukkan keaktifan yang sangat tinggi.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kolaboratif menjadi hal utama dalam setiap pembelajaran. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kolaboratif bagi guru dan siswa. Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada para guru-guru di Sekolah Dasar. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan yakni observasi, pelatihan dan pendampingan, diskusi, dan evaluasi. Dari hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari 95% guru memberikan respon positif terkait kegiatan ini, kemudian para dewan guru juga mampu menyusun bahan ajar maupun worksheet yang terintegrasi pada penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis digital seperti articulate storyline yang bisa digunakan untuk semua mata pelajaran. Para dewan guru mengaku belum pernah mendapatkan materi pelatihan sepert ini karena kegiatan ini tidak hanya fokus pada pemberian materi pelatihan saja tetapi juga pemberian pendampingan kepada guru yang masih mengalami kesulitan untuk mengoperasikan articulate storyline.

Abstract

Pengaruh teknologi dalam dunia pendidikan sangat berpengaruh terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa, termasuk matematika. Stigma siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika yang buruk harus dihilangkan melalui peran teknologi dalam pembelajaran. Namun, implementasi teknologi sendiri masih belum cukup efektif dibuktikan dengan penggunaan smartphone yang belum memenuhi kebutuhan belajar siswa di SD LAB UM. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kebutuhan akan media pembelajaran teknologi yaitu e-modul berbasis gamifikasi dalam pembelajaran matematika di kelas IV sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan berupa pendekatan kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan permasalahan dan fokus penelitian. Penelitian ini akan merepresentasikan data hasil wawancara, observasi, dan kuesioner yang diperoleh selama penelitian. Hasil penelitian didapatkan adanya kebutuhan akan media pembelajaran e-modul berbasis gamifikasi di kelas IV SD LAB UM. Dibuktikan dari hasil wawancara, observasi, dan kuesioner, serta tinjauan penelitian terdahulu terkait implementasi media pembelajaran ini di sekolah.

Abstract

Problem-solving is recognized as one of the core aspects of learning mathematics, as it helps students develop essential thinking and reasoning skills. Strengthening problem-solving abilities is also a key goal of mathematics education. The purpose of this study was to analyze students' problem-solving skills based on Polya's theoretical stages. A triangulation approach was applied by combining qualitative methods with data collection through interviews and written tests. The participant consisted of 19 fifth-grade students in an elementary school at Sorong Regency, West Papua, Indonesia. The findings showed that students' problem-solving performance were generally low. Specifically, 15.79% students achieved a high level, 47.73% students were categorized as medium category, and 36.84% students were in the low category. Students with low ability demonstrated difficulties in understanding problems and implement solution steps, while those with medium ability were able to understand problems but often made calculation errors. High-performing students solved problem effectively but tended not to verify their solutions. These results highlight the need for instructional strategies that systematically strengthen students’ problem-solving skills across different ability levels.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berusaha mengidentifikasi aspek-aspek perilaku yang berkaitan dengan mathematics self-efficacy siswa. Penelitian ini dijalankan dengan mengacu pada langkah-langkah sistematis litearatur review yang terdiri dari: 1) search for literature; 2) Search for inclusion; 3) Asses quality; 4) Extract data; dan 5) Analysis and synthesize data. Pada tahap awal pengumpulan data, 2075 artikel terjaring dengan kata kunci “mathematics self-efficacy”. Selanjutnya, peneliti melakukan pembatasan dengan memilih artikel yang secara khusus berkaitan dengan bidang pendidikan. Hasil tersebut mengerucut pada 534 artikel. Selanjutnya, peneliti melakukan sortir artikel berdasarkan kualitas publikasi yang ditemukan seperti kualitas publisher, keterkaitan dengan topik mathematics self-efficacy di bidang pendidikan dasar dan memutuskan menganalisis 10 artikel secara in-depth. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa aspek-aspek perilaku yang secara berkaitan dengan mathematics self-efficacy terdiri dari: 1) Keyakinan terhadap kemampuan matematis yang dimiliki; 2) Keputusan dalam mengambil tindakan ketika mengahadapi tantangan matematis; 3) target tujuan ketika belajar matematika; 4) usaha yang dilakukan ketika menghadapi masalah matematis; 5) ketahanan ketika menghadapi permasalahan matematis; dan 6) Ketertarikan ketika belajar matematika

Abstract

Mathematics anxiety (MA) is a common issue in primary education, negatively impacting students' academic performance, motivation, and confidence in mathematics. This study addresses existing gaps by systematically analyzing global trends, theoretical foundations, causes, and effective interventions for MA. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted using PRISMA guidelines, which included the stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. Articles analyzed from the Scopus database were published between 2014 and 2024. The findings reveal a significant rise in MA research in recent years, with major contributions from China and the UK. Key theoretical foundations include anxiety and cognitive load theories, emphasizing the interplay between emotional and cognitive factors in MA development. Major causes of MA include cognitive limitations, gender, and curriculum. Effective interventions involve pedagogical approaches, psychological strategies, teacher support, and technology integration. These approaches include active learning, mindfulness techniques, and the use of interactive digital tools. This study highlights the importance of collaboration among educators, policymakers, and researchers to mitigate MA's impact and foster positive mathematical experiences for primary school students.

Abstract

This research aims to develop numeracy literacy games based on RPG Maker MV in the form of games that are declared valid and games that are declared practical. The method used in this research is development research with a prototyping model according to Nieveen which has stages; 1) preliminary research, 2) prototyping stage, and 3) assessment stage. The instruments used were interview sheets and questionnaire sheets. The interview sheet was used to explore information about the needs of the school, while the questionnaire sheet was used to validate and respond to the practicality of the game. The validity of the game was determined from the results of validation by mathematics expert lecturers and teachers. Practicality is obtained from filling out a response questionnaire from using the game by students and teachers. The test subjects were elementary school students in Durenan sub-district, especially grade V students. Limited trials were conducted on 7 students and field trials were conducted on 21 students. The resulting device can be said to be good if it meets the criteria of valid and practical. The results of game validation are 85.7 from media experts. The results of validation from material experts consisted of 91.6 from lecturers and 88.9 from teachers. The results of the student response practicality questionnaire were 90.6 and the teacher response practicality questionnaire was 92.6. So, the conclusion is that the numeracy literacy game based on RPG Maker MV is valid and practical to use in the learning process.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective batik ethnomathematics e-module based on Project Based Learning (PjBL) to improve critical thinking skills of elementary school students. This research was conducted using the 4D RnD model design. In the research stages, product validation was carried out by media experts and material experts. The research product was tested with 19 fourth-grade students consisting of 9 boys and 10 girls. Research data was collected using interviews, questionnaires, and tests. Interviews were used to investigate initial conditions and needs, student and teacher questionnaires were used to assess the practicality of the e-module, and tests were conducted to assess students' critical thinking skills. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics and t-tests. Based on the research results, it was found that (1) the batik ethnomathematics e-module was declared valid and feasible to be implemented, (2) the batik ethnomathematics e-module was declared practical, and (3) the batik ethnomathematics e-module was declared effective and proven to be able to improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Comprehension is the foundation of problem-solving; without proper understanding, students will struggle to solve problems correctly. This research aims to identify specific types of mathematical comprehension errors in primary school students based on indicators from Newman's theory. By using Newman's error analysis framework, the study gives a detailed, step-by-step look at how students lose comprehension. This research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method with three third-grade students as subjects, selected based on their level of mathematical ability (high, medium, low) determined through a diagnostic test. The results of the data analysis show that across the three student ability levels analyzed, the data revealed distinct patterns in the types of comprehension breakdowns encountered. High-performing students demonstrated minimal comprehension errors, successfully identifying key information. In contrast, mid-level students exhibited more significant issues linking the available information. The lowest-performing students showed the most fundamental misunderstandings, incorrectly identifying basic facts. These findings imply the need for a teaching approach that emphasizes contextual understanding and the development of mathematical literacy in comprehending story-based problems. Integrating evidence-based methods like problem-based learning, which have been shown to improve mathematical literacy in primary students, could help address the comprehension challenges observed in this study.
