Abstract

In Islamic boarding schools such as Darullughah Wadda’wah, novice Arabic learners are expected to acquire basic conversational skills within their first three months—an intensive demand that often leads to anxiety and limited vocabulary retention when traditional rote methods are applied. This study explores innovative approaches to enhance Arabic vocabulary acquisition among beginner-level students through gamification, task-based learning, and multimodal input. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected from 120 first-year students aged 12–16 through classroom observations, interviews, focus group discussions, and document analysis. The findings reveal that integrating interactive and mnemonic-based strategies significantly improved student engagement, motivation, and vocabulary recall. Mnemonic storytelling and contextualized learning tasks allowed learners to associate words with meaningful experiences, thereby reducing cognitive load and enhancing language use in real-life situations. Despite challenges related to classroom management and technological adaptation, the study demonstrates that a balanced integration of traditional and innovative methods can transform vocabulary learning into an engaging and effective process. This research contributes a practical, learner-centered model for Arabic language instruction within immersive educational environments.

Abstract

In this era of globalization and increasing access to information, Arabic has become not only an essential medium for religious expression but also a bridge for intercultural communication. However, field observations reveal that many students still struggle with hesitation and anxiety when speaking, largely due to a lack of supportive linguistic environments and the pressure to achieve linguistic perfection. This situation raises a critical question regarding the effectiveness of current teaching methods and calls for innovative approaches that prioritize psycholinguistic factors. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of a repetitive approach through the memorization of the Muḥāwarah Book in enhancing the speaking confidence of students in Arabic. Speaking skills (maharah kalām) often pose a major challenge for learners, primarily due to doubt, anxiety, and limited language environments. Through systematic repetition of dialogues, students are expected to internalize sentence patterns automatically while cultivating a sense of security in communication. This qualitative descriptive study was conducted at Pondok Pesantren Darullughah Wadda’wah, Bangil, involving 120 new students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that the structured repetition of muḥāwarah dialogues significantly improves oral participation, reduces anxiety, and strengthens students’ psychological readiness to speak. Repetitive memorization also produces a snowball effect by enhancing spontaneity, vocabulary acquisition, and fluency. This study underscores that learning Arabic requires not only linguistic strategies but also psycholinguistic approaches that build learners’ confidence.

Abstract

This study aims to capture the values of Islamic education in the local wisdom of the Bajo people in the Mandar Archipelago Village along Sumenep, Madura. The values of Islamic education can be seen in the local wisdom of the Bajo people, such as in the ritual before going to sea called Nyalamak and Pongkak Mamie. This study uses a realist ethnographic approach. The source of data through observation and in-depth interviews. The results of this study indicate that there are three aspects of Islamic educational values contained in the local wisdom of the Bajo people: 1) Aqidah values, seen in the strength of belief in going to sea, 2) Worship values, seen from the ritual of reading the book al-Barzanji before going to sea, this is done as a form of gratitude to Allah SWT, 3) Moral values, seen from the way the Bajo people help each other and share among fellow Bajo people. From this series of rituals, it can teach that humans as servants of Allah should always approach and ask only Allah SWT, besides that humans as social beings cannot be separated from the process of interaction both with fellow humans and with the natural surroundings. In this interaction process which means it also contains the values of Islamic education and that is the true essence of Islamic education.

Abstract

This section is separate Changes in the culture of learning foreign languages, especially Arabic, as a result of the use of technology are very dependent on various components in the learning support system. This research can be categorized as a library research. The approach applied in this research is a qualitative approach, which emphasizes the analysis of processes and dynamics of relationships between observed phenomena using scientific logic. Learning videos using Canva are suitable for Arabic language subjects, especially material that requires in-depth understanding. Learning videos through Canva make it possible to create animated images of moving objects so that they look like they can be felt in real life, even though they are semi-concrete.

Abstract

The researcher noticed, in the process of teaching the Arabic language, especially in the second grade of primary school at Jannatul Naeem Falankaraya Institute, that teaching the Arabic language, especially the reading skill, is surrounded by many problems, so that the desired goal of education has not been fully achieved. The morphology book is one of the means that will be used to develop the reading skill, because the researcher finds that in the second grade of primary school, the students have learned grammar and the book used there is the text of Ajrumiyyah, but unfortunately the students have not studied morphology. Based on the above, the researcher wanted to solve this problem by conducting scientific research using the morphology book and the effectiveness of its use in teaching reading skills to students in this school. The approach used by the researcher is the quantitative approach. The result of using the morphology book in the Arabic language in an experimental group is effective because the score reached a score of 4.39 for the experimental group, this number is greater than the score of 4.39 for the The table is at the significance level of 5% and 1%. The t-score is 2.08 for the control group, which is smaller than the t-score in the table at the significance level of 5% and 1%..

Abstract

Tashrif Ishtilahi learning at Muhammadiyah Senior High School has become monotonous for students. The teacher implemented a "fun learning" strategy supported by a snakes and ladders game as instructional media to address this issue. This study aims to: describe the use of the snakes and ladders media in Tashrif Ishtilahi instruction, and examine classroom learning activities involving this media. This research adopts a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Observations and interviews were conducted to explore the classroom activities utilizing the Snakes and Ladders media, while interviews specifically captured teachers' responses to these learning activities. Documentation was used to gather visual data during the implementation process. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's model, which involves three stages: data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. To ensure data validity, source triangulation was applied. The study yielded two main findings: the snakes and ladders media was designed using Canva, printed on A3 paper, and equipped with four tokens and one die to accommodate group play; and the gameplay resembled that of a conventional snakes and ladders game, with students required to correctly pronounce Tashrif Ishtilahi forms before moving to the next square.

Abstract

Proses pengenalan nahwu dan shorof kepada santri pemula bukanlah hal mudah. Ada permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh guru dalam proses ini. Yaitu, kelemahan santri dalam memahami dan menghafalkan konsep nahwu dan sharaf yang telah diajarkan. Oleh sebab itu, guru kelas i’dad di pondok pesantren Al Mawarits An Nabawiyyah mencoba menerapkan aktifitas “Berbaris dan Menjawab” sebagai bentuk praktik baik dalam mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang telah disebutkan peneliti bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan 1) Pembelajaran nahwu dan sharaf bagi santri tingkat i’dad. 2) Bagaimana potret aktifitas “Berbaris dan Menjawab” dalam pembelajaran nahwu dan sharaf di kelas i’dad. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis naratif inkuiri. Pemerolehan data dilakukan dengan 2 teknik. Yaitu, observasi partisipatif selama aktifitas pembelajaran berlangsung dan wawancara dengan guru kelas i’dad. Data yang telah terkumpul dianalisis dengan 3 tahap sesuai dengan model analisis Miles & Huberman. Yaitu, reduksi, penyajian dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini menghasilkan 2 kesimpulan. 1) Pembelajaran nahwu dan sharaf bagi kelas i’dad menekankan pengenalan konsep nahwu dan sharaf. Sehingga guru cenderung menggunakan metode hafalan dan drill. Bahan ajar yang digunakan oleh guru adalah buku “Ringkasan Teori Dasar” metode Al Bidayah. Masalah utama yang dihadapi oleh guru yaitu santri kerap lupa terhadap materi yang baru saja diajarkan di kelas sehingga guru menerapkan aktifitas “Berbaris dan Menjawab. 2) Aktifitas “Berbaris dan Menjawab” dilaksanakan 10 menit menjelang berakhirnya pelajaran. Santri berbaris dengan rapi dan masing-masing menjawab 1 pertanyaan dengan benar. Jika jawaban salah maka santri yang bersangkutan harus mengantri dan mengulang lagi hingga jawabannya benar.

Abstract

Traditional Islamic boarding schools are still relevant to be maintained. In facing the global era which is accompanied by modernization in all areas of life, Islamic boarding schools must continue to strive to maintain their existence and adapt to the conditions that surround them without abandoning their Islamic boarding school characteristics. In this study the researchers used a descriptive qualitative approach. The theory of a descriptive qualitative approach is a research method in which the results of the research are in the form of descriptive data. The relevance of the education system at the Mambaul Hikam Blitar Islamic Boarding School in the Modernization Era is shown by the existence of the latest programs by incorporating the state curriculum and opening public schools, the traditional learning system (halaqah) that applies to traditional Islamic boarding schools are provided in a balance with a modern learning system. Included in the curriculum, pesantren no longer only provide Islamic religious studies, but also modern general sciences which are accommodated from the government's curriculum.

Abstract

Fostering moderation of Islam in the era of disruption is very urgent to face a multicultural society. Correct understanding of aqidah is the main key to maintaining inter-religious tolerance. Aqidah ahlussunah wal jama'ah an-nahdliyyah developed in Islamic boarding schools has succeeded in creating a moderate society. The results of this study indicate that moderate Islamic insight is built on aqidah ahlussunah wal jama'ah an-nahdliyyah education. This Aqidah is then synergized with the teachings of Tawhid, Fiqh, Morals and Sufism. The tradition of Islamic scholars' thought in the archipelago also contributes to strengthening moderate Islamic insights

Abstract

Really pictures can motivate students to talk and help them feel moved. However, after the researchers conducted observations and interviews with Arabic teachers at MTs. Ainul Falah Guluk-Guluk Sumenep, he found that some students felt bored, bored and lazy when practicing speaking Arabic, did not pay attention to the lesson and did not have the ability to speak Arabic even though the teacher used colorful media in learning speaking skills. Therefore, researchers want to know how to use picture media and its problems in teaching speaking skills at the school. The formulation of the problems in this study are: (1) What is the process of using media images in teaching speaking skills at MTs. Ainul Falah Guluk-Guluk Sumenep Madura, East Java? (2) What are the problems faced by the teacher when using media images in teaching speaking skills at the school? (3) What is the solution to overcome these problems? In this study using descriptive research methods and qualitative approaches. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. Whereas in data analysis, namely data reduction, data presentation and data verification. As for the research results, the researcher can summarize them as follows: (1) The process of using pictures in learning speaking skills at MTs. Ainul Falah is divided into three stages, namely introduction, core and closing. (2) The problems faced by the teacher when using media images in teaching speaking skills at the school are (a) the size of the images used is not large, (b) the images used are not clear. (3) The solution to overcome this problem is that the size of the image used must be in accordance with the number of students, the quality of the printed image must be good and satisfying, and the teacher should display the image through the LCD projector.
