Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development strategies of Carica Gemilang, a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME), from a sociological perspective using John W. Bennett's adaptation theory. This study employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and secondary sources such as relevant journal articles. The findings reveal that Carica Gemilang implements various development strategies, including maintaining product quality, listening to customer feedback, conducting promotions and building brand image, organizing surveys and annual meetings, expanding and strengthening business networks, and holding internal briefings. These strategies are categorized into three adaptation concepts according to Bennett: Adaptive Behavior, Adaptive Strategies, and Adaptive Processes. The adopted strategies enable Carica Gemilang to adapt to changing market conditions and contribute to the improvement of the community's economic conditions. Despite challenges such as the difficult supply of carica fruit and fluctuating social media algorithms, Carica Gemilang remains effective in its operations. This study underscores the importance of adaptive strategies in MSME development. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi pengembangan Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) Carica Gemilang dalam mengembangkan usahanya dari perspektif sosiologi menggunakan teori adaptasi John W. Bennett. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi, serta sumber sekunder seperti artikel jurnal yang relevan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa UMKM Carica Gemilang menerapkan berbagai strategi pengembangan, termasuk menjaga kualitas produk, mendengarkan masukan konsumen, melakukan promosi dan membangun citra produk, mengadakan survei dan rapat tahunan, memperluas dan memperkuat jaringan usaha, serta mengadakan briefing internal. Strategi-strategi ini dikategorikan ke dalam tiga konsep adaptasi menurut Bennett: Adaptive Behavior, Adaptive Strategies, dan Adaptive Processes. Strategi yang diterapkan oleh UMKM Carica Gemilang memungkinkan mereka untuk beradaptasi dengan kondisi pasar yang terus berubah dan berkontribusi pada peningkatan kondisi perekonomian masyarakat. Meskipun terdapat tantangan seperti pasokan buah carica yang sulit dan algoritma media sosial yang berubah-ubah, UMKM Carica Gemilang tetap mampu beroperasi secara efektif. Penelitian ini menunjukkan pentingnya penerapan strategi adaptif dalam pengembangan UMKM.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the opportunities and challenges of Merdeka Belajar as a national education program for high school teachers nationally. Teachers’ problem in implementing Merdeka Belajar (Freedom of Learning) curriculum lacks understanding of the procedures. This happened because there was no structural explanation regarding the differences between the curriculum they had been running so far and Merdeka Belajar curriculum. Many problems arise when implementing the curriculum that the education they have been running has made students dependent. In this context, this study questions how high school sociology teachers’ opportunities and challenges in facing Merdeka Belajar curriculum in the fourth industrial revolution (industry 4.0)? This study aims to identify problems and strategies for teachers in facing the new paradigm of Merdeka Belajar. This study’s analysis is based on theories such as those from Neill, Rogers, Freire, Boal, Giroux, and Knowles to critically analyze the pedagogical paradigm of national education that teachers have used. This study uses Knowles’s theory of andragogy to explore the notion of Merdeka Belajar. This study’s qualitative research method includes observation of the teacher-student relationship and interviews with several high school teachers in Karanganyar, Central Java. Besides, document studies related to Merdeka Belajar program are also used to understand the policy context. This study found that teachers did not realize that they had been using a pedagogical paradigm (education for children) for high school-level children who had grown up. When they switched to Merdeka Belajar curriculum, they also did not know that the paradigm they should be using is andragogy (education for adults). In this situation, they improvised as best they could to implement Merdeka Belajar. The teachers only carry out orders from the school. However, the school is still trying to understand how it works based on structural orders without clarity. Students’ dependence on teachers has become the cause of teachers’ difficulty to move out of the pedagogical paradigm into andragogy. In this situation, the teachers tried to do their best to implement Merdeka Belajar program during the Covid-19 pandemic. Teachers and schools must also face all infrastructural barriers and socioeconomic conditions with limited online learning access.

Abstract

This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method to examine the strategic role of teachers in determining meaningful and contextual Sociology subject matter in the Solo Raya and Central Java regions. Research data was obtained through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and analysis of learning planning and implementation documents. The research population is all active Sociology teachers who are members of the Sociology Teacher Conference (MGMP) of Greater Solo and Central Java, while the sample includes 13 teachers from four public and private high schools in Surakarta City, Sukoharjo Regency, Sragen Regency, and one aliyah madrasah in Surakarta. Data collection techniques include passive observation of the learning process from March 4-28, 2025, in-depth interviews with teachers, MGMP heads, and two students from each school, and document collection in the form of lesson plans, teaching modules, syllabi, and other teaching materials. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman interactive model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawn, and continuous verification. The results of the study showed that teachers applied three main strategies in the selection of essential materials, namely the relationship with students' social lives, continuity between materials, and strengthening literacy and numeracy. These findings confirm that teachers' autonomy and pedagogical capacity greatly determine the success of the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in meaningful Sociology learning, so systemic support, continuous training, and collaboration between teachers through MGMP are needed.

Abstract

This study aimed to prepare Sociology teaching materials based on Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) as an attempt to develop learning in accordance with students’ characteristics. CRT learning is defined as a learning approach using students’ cultural knowledge, experience, and creating local culture-based learning. This activity stage consists of training module preparation, workshop implementation, teaching material monitoring and evaluation, and follow-up plan. The output of this activity is CRT-based Sociology Learning Teaching Material. This activity engages Sociology teachers affiliated with Subject Teacher Conference (Indonesian: Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran, thereafter called MGMP) of Sociology of Klaten Regency, consisting of 26 teachers. This activity was technically initiated with identifying the characteristic of local culture related to Sociology material. Furthermore, CRT teaching material is developed in Sociology learning in accordance with the characteristic of local culture. The presence of such teaching material is expected to encourage the students to know their cultural environment better, to analyze the concept of sociology in accordance with their environment, and to be tolerant to different cultures existing. As for the activities' results, the first is preparing five CRT-based Phase F sociology teaching materials. Second, sociology teachers can develop sociology learning according to students' cultural characteristics. Third, sociology teachers have a variety of learning approaches. Thus, CRT-based Phase F sociology teaching materials that may be utilized in the classroom are produced as a result of this service project.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to conduct an empirical test of the effect between profitability and liquidity on capital structure. The object of research is conducted on companies that have gone public and are included in the Manufacturing industry. Retrieval of data using a combination of methods by firm and by years, and obtained 589 data. The test results prove that partially, profitability and liquidity have a negative and significant effect on capital structure. Suggestions that can be recommended for academics can be used as a reference as the development of testing of pecking order theory. For the parties in the managerial level of the company, they become the guidelines in making decisions in preparing their capital structure. For potential investors and investors, the results of this study can be used as a material consideration from the fundamental aspects of investment decision making.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk: 1) Mengetahui tingkat kepercayaan masyarakat atas pelayanan yang diberikan oleh RSI Sultan Agung Semarang sebelum pandemi COVID-19, 2) Mengetahui tingkat kepercayaan masyarakat atas pelayanan yang diberikan oleh RSI Sultan Agung Semarang pada saat pandemi COVID-19, 3) Mengetahui perbedaan tingkat kepercayaan masyarakat atas pelayanan yang diberikan oleh RSI Sultan Agung Semarang sebelum pandemi COVID-19 dengan pada saat pandemi COVID-19. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuatitatif. Hasil Penelitian dapat disimpulkan: 1) Tingkat kepercayaan masyarakat atas pelayanan yang diberikan sebelum pandemi COVID-19 terhadap 60 responden terdapat 49 responden (81,7%) yang percaya. 2) Tingkat kepercayaan masyarakat atas pelayanan yang diberikan oleh RSI Sultan Agung Semarang pada saat pandemi COVID-19 terhadap 60 responden terdapat 43 responden (71,7%) yang percaya. 3) Terdapat perbedaan tingkat kepercayaan masyarakat atas pelayanan yang diberikan sebelum pandemi COVID-19 dengan pada saat pandemi COVID-19. RSI Islam Sultan Agung Semarang dalam upayanya menyikapi perubahan pada saat pandemi COVID-19 untuk menjaga kepercayaan masyarakat. RSI Sultan Agung Semarang telah mengimplementasikan prosedur tetap (protap) penanganan COVID-19 sesuai dengan ketetapan pemerintah melalui Keputusan Menteri Kesehatan (Kepmenkes) Nomor 1591/2020.

Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan menguji market to book value melalui mediasi struktur modal dengan mendasarkan pada theory of the firm. Data utama bersumber dari sekunder yang listing di BEI. Objek sekaligus menunjukkan populasi dari industri manufaktur tahun 2017-2021 sebanyak 179 perusahaan, yang selanjutnya dengan teknik purposive sampling diperoleh sampel sebanyak 74 perusahaan, dengan metode pengujian path analysis. Simpulan: peningkatan struktur modal yang bersumber dari leverage dipengaruhi secara signifikan oleh struktur aset. Sebaliknya, struktur aset tidak mampu mempengaruhi market to book value secara langsung, namun dibutuhkan mediasi dari struktur modal.

Abstract

Internet lebih banyak memberikan dampak buruk bagi anak, kurangnya pengawasan orang tua membuat anak ketergantungan internet. Sebagian tanggung jawab anak terabaikan karena bermain handphone, orang tua perlu memiliki strategi yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan strategi yang dilakukan orang tua mendampingi anak  menggunakan internet. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif, jenis penelitian deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan peran orang tua dalam mengontrol penggunaan handphone pada anak usia enam sampai dua belas tahun yaitu dengan mengutamakan strategi komunikasi interpersonal, terdapat kebutuhan inklusi tipe ideal, kebutuhan control  tipe perilaku democrat dimana orang tua memegang kendali mengontrol anak, serta pemenuhan kebutuhan afeksi ideal dengan memberikan perhatian. Strategi yang paling utama hubungan komunikasi interpersonal kepada anak dimulai dari interaksi yang sederhana sampai perlahan masuk percakapan mendalam hal ini dianggap efektif mengontrol perilaku anak.

Abstract

Stigmatisasi adalah proses sosial dalam memberikan sebuah label negatif terhadap sesuatu, Penyandang disabilitas sebagai individu yang memiliki hambatan tak jarang mendapatkan pelabelan negatif dari masyarakat. Adanya pelabelan negatif memberikan pengaruh kepada konstruksi sosial konsep diri penyandang disabilitas. Adanya penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana strategi warga sekolah di SMA Luar Biasa Negeri Temanggung dalam membangun konsep diri positif peserta didik difabel melalui proses komunikasi yang sifatnya persuasif. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan maksud untuk menggambarkan gejala-gejala serta fakta atas kejadian yang terjadi mengenai obyek penelitian yaitu konsep diri peserta didik penyandang disabilitas di SMALB Negeri Temanggung. Teknik pengumpulan data di dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tiga cara yaitu wawancara, observasi, dan studi pustaka serta teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Sedangkan analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pada peserta didik penyandang disabilitas SMALB Negeri Temanggung dalam membangun konsep diri melalui 3 proses yaitu peserta didik membayangkan bagaimana pandangan orang lain terhadap dirinya, peserta didik membayangkan bagaimana penilaian orang lain terhadap dirinya, dan dari adanya pandangan dan penilaian yang diberikan peserta didik mencoba mendefinisikan dirinya melalui perasaan yang dimiliki. Pandangan dan penilaian yang diberikan masyarakat merujuk kepada adanya pembatasan sosial terhadap peserta didik, sehingga di dalam lingkungan sosial peserta didik memiliki kesadaran bahwa dirinya berbeda dan menutup diri dari lingkungan sosial. Komunikasi persuasif digencarkan oleh SMALB Negeri Temanggung untuk membentuk konsep diri positif karena sifatnya dapat memberikan pengaruh kepada pemikiran dan perilaku peserta didik.

Abstract

This paper aims to examine the direct effect of Good Corporate Governance practices on firm value. Specifically, this study examines the direct effect of the role of an independent board of commissioners and an audit committee on firm value using agency theory and signaling theory. These two theories were chosen because they are able to explain managerial mechanisms such as oversight and information transparency, which can help companies reduce agency conflicts while providing positive signals to investors. The analytical method used in this study is ordinary least squares (OLS) using a quantitative approach. The sample in this study were mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange between 2021 and 2024. The analysis results show that the presence of an independent board of commissioners and the size of the audit committee are positively and significantly correlated with firm value, thus, a strong governance structure is in line with increasing firm value. This study provides empirical contributions and public policy implications that strongly support the relevance of GCG as an important instrument in creating long-term value in companies and represents a limited literature on the influence of CG and firm value in the mining sector.
