Abstract

Abstrak: Industri modern kini beralih dari sistem kontrol tradisional ke sistem kontrol otomasi berbasis teknologi modern salah satunya Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). Pembelajaran di Jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Elektro Universitas Negeri Medan masih kurang efektif karena minimnya akses mahasiswa terhadap pengalaman praktis dengan PLC. Untuk itu, rancang bangun trainer sistem otomasi industri berbasis PLC diusulkan sebagai Solusi yang relevan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa. Pengembangan trainer ini mencakup komponen seperti papan trainer, peralatan kontrol otomasi, PLC, dan lainnya, serta jobsheet untuk mendukung pembelajaran.  Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model pengembangan ADDIE. Prosedur pengembangan yang dilakukan meliputi tahapan: analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi dan evaluasi. Tahap analisis melibatkan responden dosen Jurusan Teknik Elektro Universitas Negeri Medan. Penilaian produk melibatkan ahli materi dan ahli media dari dosen FT UNIMED. Penilaian respon pengguna melibatkan Mahasiswa Teknik Elektro UNIMED. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket yang telah divalidasi ahli. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian adalah trainer dihasilkan melalui lima tahapan, yaitu analisis kebutuhan, desain training kit, pembuatan dan pengujian fungsional, pengujian ahli dan pengguna, dan evaluasi kelayakan. Uji kinerja menunjukkan training kit tersebut termasuk kategori sangat layak dengan rerata skor dari ahli materi sebesar 3,83 dan ahli media sebesar 3,67. Pengguna menyatakan trainer dan modul pembelajaran yang dihasilkan sangat layak dengan rerata skor sebesar 3,39. Kata Kunci: Modul Trainer, Programmable Logic Control, Media Pembelajaran..  Abstract: The automation control systems of today's industry are replacing the antiquated control systems with ones based on contemporary technology, such as the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). Due to students' limited access to PLC practical experience, learning at Medan State University's Department of Electrical Engineering Education remains less effective. In order to improve student comprehension, the design of an industrial automation system trainer based on PLCs is suggested. Along with work sheets to facilitate learning, this trainer development contains components such automation control equipment, PLCs, trainer boards, and others.  Using the ADDIE development model, this study is development research. Analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation are the phases of the development procedures that are carried out. Based on the performance test, the training kit has an average score of 3.67 from media experts and 3.83 from material experts, placing it in the highly feasible category. With an average rating of 3.39, users said the trainer and learning modules were excellent value. Keywords: Trainer Module, Programmable Logic Control, Learning Media.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan trainer filter analog sebagai media praktikum rangkaian elektronika yang efektif dan efisien bagi mahasiswa program studi pendidikan teknik elektro. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian pengembangan (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari 5 tahap: analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Produk yang dihasilkan berupa trainer filter analog yang terdiri dari rangkaian audio frequency generator menggunakan XR2206, blok rangkaian filter audio jenis butterworth menggunakan Op-Amp LM741, LCD matriks 16x2, dan saklar putar untuk memilih bentuk gelombang dan batasan frekuensi. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa trainer filter analog yang dikembangkan memenuhi spesifikasi yang diinginkan. Berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli media dan ahli materi, media pembelajaran ini masuk dalam kategori "Sangat Layak" dengan persentase kelayakan masing-masing 87,83% dan 84,16%. Uji coba pada mahasiswa juga menunjukkan respon yang sangat baik dengan persentase 85,67%. Penggunaan trainer filter analog diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap konsep-konsep dasar dalam rangkaian elektronika dan mempersiapkan mereka dengan keterampilan praktis yang diperlukan dalam bidang ini. Selain itu, penggunaan trainer filter analog juga diharapkan dapat mengurangi biaya dan risiko yang terkait dengan praktikum rangkaian elektronika. Kata Kunci: Trainer Filter Analog, Media Praktikum, Rangkaian Elektronika.  Abstract: This research aims to develop an analog filter trainer as an effective and efficient practical media for students in the electrical engineering education program. The research method used is the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The resulting product is an analog filter trainer that consists of an audio frequency generator circuit using XR2206, a butterworth-type audio filter circuit block using LM741 Op-Amp, a 16x2 matrix LCD, and a rotary switch to select waveform and frequency limits. The test results show that the developed analog filter trainer meets the desired specifications. Based on the validation results from media experts and subject matter experts, this learning media is categorized as "Highly Feasible" with feasibility percentages of 87.83% and 84.16% respectively. The trial with students also showed a very positive response with a percentage of 85.67%. The use of the analog filter trainer is expected to enhance students' understanding of basic concepts in electronic circuits and equip them with practical skills required in this field. Additionally, the use of the analog filter trainer is also expected to reduce costs and risks associated with electronic circuit practical work. Keywords: Analog Filter Trainer, Practical Media, Electronic Circuits.

Abstract

This research presents a low-cost sensor for measuring liquid levels using plastic optical fibers (POF). The sensor reduces the scattering-based optical losses in the fiber, which increase linearly with the liquid height. A U-bent fiber probe and photodetector are used to detect the change in optical intensity. The U-bent probe serves as a test probe for measuring the liquid level. The voltage response difference of the photodetector provides liquid level measurement. This study demonstrates the sensor's responsiveness to liquid level fluctuations above 55 cm at varying temperatures. Sensitivity levels of 1.4 and 3.3 mV/mm were achieved for water level fluctuations below and above 45 cm, respectively. Furthermore, the sensor demonstrated consistently stable responsiveness over multiple cycles.

Abstract

The use of capacitors in electrical systems is widely known for their function to improve power factor and voltage profile while minimizing power losses. It results from the reactive power correction provided by capacitors within the system. It is believed that proper placement and size of capacitors can enhance the electricity quality in power systems. Therefore, numerous methods have been developed regarding the allocation and sizing of capacitors. In this research, a meta-heuristic method, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is applied to find the optimal allocation and sizing of capacitors in order to reduce losses. The method has also been improved by modifying the value of inertia weight to optimize the algorithm's performance in finding the solution. The method is tested on an IEEE 34 bus radial distribution system to observe its performance and effectiveness in identifying the solution. The power loss in the distribution system plays the most important role in the economic operation of the power system. It will be used as a fitness function for each particle in the algorithm. The obtained test results include the size of the capacitor and the optimal placement of the capacitor installation.

Abstract

The majority of people in Kuta Dame Village work as farmers. Several outreaches have been carried out to develop the agricultural sector in Kuta Dame village. However, some of the extension services rarely touched on effective technology to support agriculture in Kuta Dame village. One of the technologies that need to be developed by the Kuta Dame village farmer group in supporting agriculture is an automatic sprayer. This development is necessary because most farmers are still using the carrying type sprayer with a manual pump (diaphragm pump). The sprayer's diaphragm pump pressure produces a relatively low spray pressure, especially when the operator is tired of moving the pump lever. As a result, the spraying performance is not perfect, making the spray grains not smooth and not reaching the leaf surface evenly. A community service program was implemented to implement automatic sprayers for farmers in Kuta Dame village. This community service program aims to carry out the planning process and use of an electric sprayer appropriately to increase spraying fertilizers and pesticides on crops. Implementing this community service activity starts from planning activities, implementing academic counseling, implementing the practice, handing over an electric sprayer, monitoring, and satisfaction analysis.

Abstract

The digital village is a government program that aims to minimize the information gap in rural areas through the use of information and communication technology, and is mandated by Law No. 6/2014. There are four important aspects of a digital village: village governance, economy and food security, village community empowerment, and support facilities. Sibagindar Village, Pagindar Subdistrict, Pakpak Bharat Regency, North Sumatra, is a village that is still an independent, underdeveloped and non-digital village. The village has only one aspect (supporting equipment aspect) of the four aspects that support a digital village. To accommodate the other three aspects so that they are integrated with each other, a platform is needed that can unite them. The information system website can be an integration platform for all aspects that will be digitized later. In addition, the information system website is also a digital gateway to Sibagindar Village. Thus, this activity focuses on the development of an information system website. The stages for the realization of the program include identification of conditions, collection of user requirements, system design, system development, and support for the management of the information system website. The appearance of the website is appropriate and very much in accordance with the results of user requirements gathering. Accessibility of the website is very easy for any device. As much as 83% of the village government and the village community recognized that the presence of the Sibagindar Village Information System website is very useful and motivated to disseminate it.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan dan melatih guru serta siswa jurusan Tata Busana di SMKN 1 Beringin dalam penggunaan teknologi desain pola busana berbasis komputer sebagai langkah mendukung penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka. Pelatihan ini menggunakan perangkat lunak Richpeace CAD yang memungkinkan peserta untuk menciptakan pola busana secara digital dengan lebih akurat, efisien, dan kreatif dibandingkan metode manual. Dengan pelatihan ini, para peserta diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kompetensi teknis, produktivitas, serta kreativitas dalam pembuatan pola, sesuai dengan tuntutan industri mode modern. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan pembuatan pola digital di kalangan guru dan siswa, yang ditandai dengan kenaikan rata-rata keterampilan dari 76,70% (manual) menjadi 89,81% (digital). Kompetensi baru ini diharapkan tidak hanya meningkatkan mutu lulusan SMKN 1 Beringin tetapi juga memperluas peluang karier mereka di industri fashion berbasis teknologi.

Abstract

Indonesia is a renowned tourist destination worldwide. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a decrease in both foreign and domestic tourist visits. Therefore, this research aims to develop a Telegram-based ChatBot application to increase post-pandemic tourist visits. The ChatBot is designed to make it easier for tourists to obtain information related to transportation and accommodation at tourist attractions. The ChatBot is built using the Knuth-Morris-Pratt (KMP) algorithm and web scraping method. The ChatBot's response to the keyword matching is then presented to tourists. To measure travelers' perceptions of ChatBot, the System Usability Scale (SUS) was used. SUS is a questionnaire consisting of 10 questions that were answered by 20 anonymous users. Based on the calculations, the average SUS score is 71, which indicates that the developed ChatBot is in the good category and suitable for use. Using this ChatBot will make it easier for tourists to obtain tourism information in Indonesia. With its ability to retrieve relevant information related to transportation and accommodation at tourist attractions, the ChatBot can serve as a useful tool to increase post-pandemic tourist visits.

Abstract

The distribution system is a part of the power system that distributes electrical energy from the transmission network to medium and low voltage consumers, such as households, industrial consumers, and other facilities. Network reconfiguration is the process of restructuring and configuring the network by opening and closing switches to obtain the most optimal network configuration. In this study, the determination of switch opening and closing uses the binary particle swarm optimization (BPSO) algorithm, whose basic principle in finding optimal values is based on the social behavior of birds flocking or fish swimming together.. To measure voltage stability, this research presents the Voltage Stability Index (VSI), improving voltage stability using network reconfiguration with the BPSO algorithm. In this study, the VSI value will be compared with other algorithms, including the PSO algorithm from previous research, the Cuckoo Search Algorithm (CSA), the Harmony Search Algorithm (HSA), and the Modified Whale Optimization Algorithm (MWOA). The simulation results show that the BPSO algorithm can reduce power loss from an initial value of 202.7 kW to 139.3 kW, a decrease of 31.28%. Compared to other algorithms, BPSO has the best percentage reduction in power loss. The simulation results also show that the VSI value improved from an initial value of 0.2112 to 0.1520, an increase of 28%. In improving the VSI value in the IEEE 33 bus distribution system, the BPSO algorithm became the best algorithm for enhancing the VSI value.

Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR) can be utilized in various fields, one of which can be used as building information in an educational institution. The purpose of this research is to develop android-based media for building information using Augmented Reality technology with a marker-based tracking method. In developing this media, the MDLC method is used, and Unity with the Vuforia SDK is used. This research produces a building information media application, Augmented Reality technology to display information about rooms in a building that are suitable for use. This media makes it easier for users to recognize the function and location of rooms interactively by simply scanning markers. Thus, this technology provides a new and interesting experience while supporting the digitalization of information services in educational institutions.
