Abstract

The previous study stated that there are 12 species of Amphibians found in Lombok Island, Indonesia. Four of which are the endemic species of Lesser Sunda Islands, namely Oreophryne monticola, Limnonectes kadarsani, Limnonectes dammermani dan Hylarana florensis. However, the information regarding the habitat characteristic which supports animal survival is limited. This study aimed to explore the types of habitat characteristics according to amphibian diversity in the Island of Lombok. The survey study was conducted at 9 locations (3 of habitat type) from March to July 2016. The collected data includes species composition and a sum of individuals of species. Amphibian diversity was analyzed using relative abundance and the Shannon-Wiener index. This study revealed that the nonforest habitat type was appropriate for five species, while secondary and primary forest habitat type was appropriate for seven species. Diversity of species index directly proportional to a natural level of habitat (H’ Nonforest = 1.3; H’ Secondary Forest = 1.7; H’ Primary Forest = 1.8). The highest species abundance was Bufo melanostictus (23.9%), and the lowest species abundance was Oreophryne monticola (0.9%). According to the distribution and relative abundance, the species that require conservation priorities are Oreophryne monticola and Hylarana florensis.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the writing paper skills of students majoring in Elementary School teacher education study program. The research method used descriptive quantitative. The population of this study was 90 groups of students who programmed the Learning Outcomes Evaluation course. The sample consisted of 10 groups of students selected by purposive sampling based on the theme of their papers. The data were collected from the papers they compiled. Aspects that were evaluated are the systematics, introduction, discussion, conclusions, and references used. Additional data collected were the students’ assessment data on other group papers. The results of the analysis show that the degree of mastery of students in compiling papers was in a sufficient category. The ability to assess papers was still low. The difficulty lied in conformity to the template, writing the background, using sources, and presenting data in the form of tables or figures. All of these aspects were categorized as very low. This information can be used as a reference in developing a lecture system that can facilitate students to develop their skills in compiling papers.

Abstract

Keterampilan proses sains (KPS) mahasiswa yang sangat rendah mengindikasikan bahwa perlu ada inovasi pembelajaran dimasa pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas pembelajaran melalui SPADA Unram dan Laboratorium Alam terhadap KPS mahasiswa. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 35 mahasiswa kelas 5E sore dari Prodi PGSD FKIP Universitas Mataram yang memprogramkan mata kuliah Ilmu Alamiah Dasar (IAD). Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen tes yang berbentuk essay. Tes diberikan diakhir proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan selama 5 minggu. Derajat penguasaan (DP) mahasiswa terhadap KPS dasar diklasifikasi menjadi 5 kategori yaitu sangat baik, baik, cukup, kurang, dan sangat kurang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki DP KPS dasar dengan kategori baik, dan berbeda secara signifikan dengan hasil tes sebelumnya. Secara berturut-turut, proporsi mahasiswa dengan kategori sangat baik, baik, dan cukup sebesar 28.57%, 34.29%, dan 11.43%. Sisanya sebanyak 2.86% masih berada pada kategori kurang, dan 22.86% kategori sangat kurang. Berdasarkan hasil ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi SPADA UNRAM dan Laboratorium Alam berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan KPS mahasiswa. Implementasi pembelajaran ini dapat menjadi salah satu solusi, namun masih memmbutuhkan penyempurnaan karena proporsi mahasiswa yang memiliki derajat penguasaan yang rendah masih besar.

Abstract

Penerapan produk, sikap dan keterampilan proses sains dapat membantu proses belajar mahasiswa, baik pada rumpun mata kuliah sains maupun non-sains. Dua aspek tersebut bahkan merupakan bekal yang baik bagi mahasiswa untuk membantunya memecahkan persoalan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Untuk memfasilitasi mahasiswa dalam mengembangkan kemampuan dalam menerapkan sikap dan keterampilan proses sains, dibutuhkan data base terkait kemampuan awal mereka terhadap penerapan dua aspek sains tersebut terutama di masa pandemi Covid-19 ini. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menerapkan sikap dan keterampilan proses sains. Penelitian dilakukan pada mahasiswa PGSD yang telah menempuh mata kuliah Pendidikan Sains yaitu semester V Tahun Akademik 2021/2022. Sampel berjumlah 79 mahasiswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Koleksi data dilakukan selama satu semester perkuliahan dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa lembar observasi, dan dokumen berbentuk karya tulis mahasiswa. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa range nilai akhir mahasiswa sebesar 74.099 dengan nilai minimum 13 dan nilai maksimum 87.099. Mediannya 70.005 dan rata-rata sebesar 65.867 dengan kategori baik. Jika diamati distribusinya, proporsi terbesar adalah nilai kualitatif B+ (30.4%) di mana kategorinya termasuk baik. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menerapkan aspek produk, sikap dan keterampilan proses sains sudah baik.

Abstract

The absence of data related to Arthropoda classes other than the orders Lepidoptera and Odonata in Suranadi Nature Park raises the need for studies on these fauna. This study aims to analyze the soil arthropod community and its role in science lessons in primary and secondary schools. This descriptive research was carried out from May to December 2019. Samples were collected in three paths, namely the forest edge, the middle of the forest and the waterway using the pit fall trap method. The collected samples were identified to species taxon at the Biology Laboratory of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Mataram University. To obtain data on species diversity, an analysis was carried out using the Shannon-Wiener equation. There are 33 species of soil arthropods found. They consist of 3 species from the order Blattodea, 2 species from the order Orthoptera, 4 species from Araneae, 11 species from the order Coleoptera, 10 species from the order Hymenoptera, 1 species each from the orders Homoptera, Tysanura and Diptera. The most abundant species is Platidema sp of the order Coleoptera. Based on the results of the analysis, the diversity index of soil Arthtopoda species in Suranadi Nature Park is 2,628. The qualitative analysis shows that there are 2 elementary and junior high school science topics that are suitable to be taught using the concept of soil arthropod diversity at Suranadi Nature Park.

Abstract

The beetle data in Suranadi Nature Park is still limited to species that move on the ground. This study aims to analyze: (1) the species richness of the arboreal beetle, and (2) its potential as a science learning resource in elementary schools. This type of research is descriptive research using a qualitative approach. Sampling was carried out on the type of habitat in Suranadi Nature Park, namely the forest area with rice fields and residential areas, air flow and the middle with a dense canopy. The collected samples were identified to determine the species. The richness of this species data is then analyzed qualitatively to determine its potential as a source of science learning in elementary schools. This is done by comparing the species richness data of beetles and elementary thematic books, then the topics are assessed according to their level. The results showed that the species richness of arboreal beetles in Suranadi Nature Park consisted of 19 species from 5 families. The species are Lema sp., Aulacophora similis, Aulacophora quadrimaculata, Aulocophora sp.1, Aulocophora sp.2, Aulocophora sp.3, Aulocophora sp.4, Aulocophora sp.5 Parchicola sp., Podontia sp., Altica cyanea and Lilioceris sp. (family Chrysomelidae), Mimela sp., Mimela langbianica (Rutelidae), Exopholis hypoleuca, Ontophagus taurus, Protaetia fruhstorferi (Scarabaeidae) and Leptura sp. (family Cerambycidae). This arboreal beetle species data may be used as a source for elementary science learning on 33 sub-themes. Of this number, there are two sub-themes that have very appropriate categories, namely Sub-theme 2 The diversity of living things in my environment and Sub-theme 1 Components of the ecosystem.

Abstract

Kerandangan Nature Reserve is an area with important ecological aspects in the fields of economy, culture and education. One of its ecological components is amphibians. Previous research was conducted with brief observations so that the data were not sufficient to provide an overview of community fluctuations due to dependent and independent density factors. The study aim is to analyze the dynamics of the amphibian community during the period 2013 - 2019. The field survey was conducted in 3 different years, namely 2013, 2016, and 2019. Analysis of community dynamics was carried out by comparing the composition and species diversity indexes. Whether or not there are differences in the amphibian community is determined by One Way ANOVA. We found that during the period 2013-2019 there was a change in species composition. However, when compared with the results of research in 2011, the species composition is same as the data for 2019. Species richness is relatively stable unless there is a change in data for 2013 and 2016 with the discovery of Ingerophrynus biporcatus and Kaloula baleata so that the species richness increases to 4. The results of the One Way ANOVA test showed that there was no significant difference in diversity (p > 0.05) during the 2013-2019 timeframe.

Abstract

This qualitative research aims to identify the difficulties experienced by students in completing their paper assignments. This research was conducted on 144 students and alumni of PGSD University of Mataram. This research was conducted during the Covid-19 pandemic, so the research was conducted online. Data collection tools in this study were questionnaires and interviews. The research data analysis was conducted qualitatively. Based on the results of questionnaires and interviews conducted, several factors were identified that cause student to experience difficulties in completing paper, including individuals themselves, student agencies, families, and pandemic conditions. Based on the research results obtained, it takes several efforts that must be made by the institution in solving the problem of paper preparation, including strengthening cooperation between thesis supervisors, academic supervisors, validator lecturers, and completing and adding reference sources in institutional libraries.

Abstract

Kegiatan kemah Bakti Masyarak (KBM) merupakan kegiatan tahunan yang dilakukan oleh HMPS PGSD Universitas Mataram. Tujuan kegiatan KBM ini adalah membantu masyarakat desa mitra dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan di desa mitra tersebut dengan cara mengimplementasikan pendidikan karakter yang diperoleh oleh mahasiswa HMPS PGSD Universitas Mataram di dalam perkuliahan. Kegiatan KBM dilakukan di dusun Batu Pasir. Kegiatan KBM berlangsung selama seminggu. metode yang dilakukan mahasiswa sebelum melakukan KBM adalah survey lokasi, wawancara dengan perangkat masyarakat dan diakhiri dengan meminta ijin kepada perangkat masyarakat untuk melakukan KBM. Adapun permasalahan yang terdapat di desa mitra ini adalah kurangnya guru membaca Al-Quran, pembangunan mushola dusun, serta perbaikan fasilitas MCK. Program KBM dilakukan oleh tim pengabdi Bersama mahasiswa HMPS dan dibantu oleh unsur masyarakat. Kegiatan berlangsung dengan lancar dan berhasil. Hal ini diperoleh dengan melalui hasil wawancara dengan perangkat dusun serta masyarakat sekitar yang merasa terbantu dengan adanya kegiatan KBM yang dilaksanakan di dusun Batu Pasir.

Abstract

Membaca merupakan salah satu bagian dari literasi yang paling mendasar. Permasalahan literasi dasar harus dituntaskan sebelum dilakukan pembelajaran lebih jauh. Jika aspek literasi masih mengalami kendala dapat dipastikan pembelajaran pada level berikutnya akan mengalami kesulitan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil kemampuan membaca siswa selama pandemi ditinjau dari perbedaan gender. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian survei. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa di sekolah dasar. Jumlah responden yang diteliti sebanyak 78 siswa. Responden siswa laki-laki sebanyak 31 siswa sedangkan reponden siswa perempuan sebanyak 47 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan membaca. Hasil survei menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan membaca siswa perempuan lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan siswa laki-laki. Siswa perempuan yang telah lancar membaca mencapai 53.19%, sedangkan siswa laki-laki hanya 38.71%. Jumlah siswa laki-laki yang tidak dapat membaca/belum mengenal huruf sebanyak 12.90%, sedangkan pada siswa perempuan hanya 4.26%. Disamping faktor kematangan psikologis yang berbeda, beberapa faktor yang diduga menjadi penyebab siswa laki-laki mengalami kesulitan membaca antara lain perilaku belajar, etos belajar, tanggungjawab belajar dan kemandirian belajar yang kurang baik pada siswa laki-laki.
