The low support on cross-sectoral commitment of village stakeholders to health programs was one of factors contributed maternal and infant mortality in Tegal Regency. Although village funds have been rolled out since 2015, its implementation hadn’t been optimal due to orientation focus on infrastructure development. Data collected with interview using questionnaire and being analyzed with frequency distribution and statistically using Kruskal-Wallis test. Most of three group stakeholders had good perception of their health resources and positive attitude towards MCH programs, but different results were seen for attitudes towards optimizing village funds. Decision Maker group and Clients-Representatives group showed tendency refusing, while Provider group tend to agree on village funds optimizing for MCH programs. The method used in this study is a literature review technique based on data results through a Google Scholars search with the keywords used are Patient Safety Culture, Reporting Culture and Patient Safety, inclusion criteria with research sites in hospitals and published journals within the last 5 years years 2018-2022. The results of the analysis of 10 articles prove that almost all applications of patient safety reporting culture get a good category of 12 variables of patient safety culture, the highest is obtained at the Aji Muhammad Parikesit Tenggarong Hospital with the category of application of 12 good variables. Problems found in the application of patient safety in hospitals are openness and frequency of incident reporting. Good communication is needed that is built by the manager so that the patient reporting culture system can be implemented optimally. Abstract

Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five due to chronic malnutrition, especially in the first 1,000 days of life. Stunting can affect brain growth and development. Children with stunting have a greater risk of suffering from chronic diseases in adulthood. This study aims to analyze the evaluation of the implementation of the stunting program at the Margototo Health Center, East Lampung Regency. This research is a program evaluation research using a mixed method (Mix Method) with a sequential explanatory design where quantitative data analysis is carried out at the initial stage, then qualitative data analysis is carried out. The program evaluation method uses the context-input-process-product (CIPP) evaluation model. Results study shows that in terms of context, the stunting program has been implemented according to the planned objectives and is right on target. In the input aspect, namely the lack of human resources in assisting, the lack of a budget that supports program implementation. In the process aspect of program implementation, there were no significant obstacles, and the process of implementing the stunting program went according to plan. In the product/output aspect, the stunting program has reached the expected target indicators, and recording and reporting have been going well. And the results of the implementation of the stunting program are shown by the results of mothers' knowledge about stunting and the attitudes of mothers who have stunted toddlers towards stunting events.

Abstract

Stunting is a serious nutritional problem faced by almost all developing countries, including Indonesia. Exclusive breastfeeding is one of the factors that influence the incidence of stunting. Infants who do not receive exclusive breastfeeding are more likely to experience stunting, which will cause children to become easily ill, and it is feared that later it will cause impaired productivity after adulthood. This article review aims to understand more about the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and stunting. The search for scientific articles was conducted through electronic databases such as Science Direct, Scopus and PubMed and 4 articles published in the last 5 years (2018-2013) were selected. The study results from the 4 articles on average informed that exclusive breastfeeding is associated with stunting. In the reviewed articles, mothers who received nutrition counseling may be effective in reducing childhood stunting accompanied by improved feeding practices. To overcome this nutritional problem, the Indonesian government created a program called Keluarga Sadar Gizi (Kadarzi) and Puskesmas is one of the institutions that plays an important role in accelerating efforts to reduce stunting. This study concluded that there is an association between exclusive breastfeeding and stunting

Abstract

Every year, adolescent pregnancy cases in Javanese society become challenging. Reproductive health education must be provided before the child enters puberty despite experiencing cultural barriers in its delivery. This study aims to explore children’s knowledge and attitudes about puberty and reproductive health to analyze the need for reproductive health education for children living in Javanese culture. This cross-sectional study sampled 174 children aged 9-11 years in the capital city of Central Java. Children in this study are female (54.6%) and male (45.4%), and 20.1% of them have already experienced puberty. As many as 48.9% of children have low knowledge, especially about puberty signs and menstruation. Most children have good attitudes about reproductive health, but 6.9% are permissive. There is no significant relationship between knowledge and attitudes (p-value=0.606). Puberty status is also unrelated to children’s knowledge (p-value=0.678) and attitudes (p-value=0.291). Permissive attitudes regarding adolescent pregnancy need to be highlighted. This is potentially harmful to children, especially if the child does not immediately engage in proper reproductive health education. The reproductive health educational model does not need to separate children’s classes based on their puberty status. The Ministry of Health and Education needs to improve children’s reproductive health knowledge by considering the character of Javanese society, which is still taboo.

Abstract

Background: Overcapacity in Correctional Institution (Lapas) is a prevailing issue faced by the Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjenpas). The current number of prisoners in correctional institution is nearly twice their ideal capacity, significantly impacting the health conditions of prisoners. Aims: To provide recommendations for health promotion strategies aimed at realizing healthy correctional institution in Indonesia, based on research conducted at Class IIA Kendal correctional institution. Method: This research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection methods comprised observation, interviews and documentation. Results: Achieving a healthy correctional institution requires a holistic approach through health promotion strategies encompassing several key aspects. Firstly, policy advocacy stands as the backbone in advocating for structural changes to improve healthcare access, adequate human resources and inclusive policies for prisoners. Furthermore, training prisoners and staff forms the foundation for improving healthcare services by providing necessary training, knowledge and support. Health education for prisoners serves as a long-term program to enhance their understanding of personal health and minimize disease risks. Lastly, enhancing personal hygiene behaviour is crucial in creating a clean environment, minimizing disease spread and supporting the overall health of both individuals and the correctional institution community. Conclusion: Realizing a healthy correctional institution through health promotion strategies is not solely a local effort but also a significant contribution towards achieving SDGs.

Abstract

Background: Sexual and reproductive health is critical to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Various factors contribute to premarital sexual behaviour among adolescents, with culture being a pervasive influence in many countries. Adolescents in mountain communities are particularly vulnerable to engaging in premarital sexual behaviour. Aims: This review aims to explore research findings related to the cultural factors influencing premarital sexual behaviour among adolescents in general and specifically in mountain communities, contributing to the achievement of the SDGs. Method: This study employs a scoping review methodology. Search terms used in the articles include MeSH terms ["Adolescent" or "Teen"], ["Cultural impact" or "Cultural Role"], ["Premarital sex" or "Premarital sexual intercourses"], and ["Highland Communities" or "Mountain Communities"]. Databases utilised for article search include Science Direct, Proquest, and PubMed. Five journals published between 2019 and 2023 that meet the inclusion criteria were selected. Results: This review synthesises findings from 5 articles, narrowed down from an initial pool of 10,923 articles. All selected papers employ quantitative methods and originate from Ethiopia (3 articles), Nepal, and Tanzania. Conclusion: The review highlights the social, economic, and environmental influences on mountain communities, emphasising the cultural roles of alcohol consumption, social norms (customs), and family culture in shaping premarital sexual behaviour among adolescents. Education on the consequences of adolescent sexual behaviour is crucial, especially in cultures that tolerate such behaviours.
