Abstract

High-risk pregnancy is a major global health issue, marked by high maternal and infant mortality rates, and poses both physical and psychological challenges for women. This study aimed to explore the experiences of women with high-risk pregnancies through a scoping and literature review using Medline, PubMed, and Scopus. The search utilized keywords related to maternal experiences in high-risk pregnancies and included qualitative and mixed-method studies published in English from 2016 to 2024. A total of 15 articles were reviewed, revealing six key experiences: continuous care, communication, psychological support, non-pharmacological therapies, understanding of risks, and technological advancements. Findings indicate that social support, ongoing healthcare access, and health technologies can reduce anxiety and improve well-being. Effective communication, continuous care models, and telemonitoring during the pandemic have shown positive impacts on managing high-risk pregnancies.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Nutritional deficiencies in children will impact their growth and development. Currently, one of the global nutrition problems is stunting. To determine the risk factors for stunting in children aged 0-5 years in Indonesia. Scoping review by searching for articles in English published from 2015 to 2025 from four international databases. The main keywords used were “stunting”, “growth disorder”, “children”, “risk factors” and “Indonesia”. Based on 6 selected articles, twelve factors were found to influence the incidence of stunting. The factors are child, mother, home, inadequate complementary feeding, inadequate breastfeeding, poor quality food, food and water safety, infection, inadequate care, political economy, health and health care, and water, sanitation and environment. All of these factors may contribute to the incidence of stunting in Indonesia. It is necessary to improve health by providing health services and conducting health promotion as a prevention effort based on the factors found. Keywords: Children, Risk Factors, Indonesia, Stunting.

Abstract

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a global problem that is expected to increase along with the increasing rate of population aging. Monoclonal antibodies (mAb) are considered capable of overcoming the accumulation of amyloid-β plaques; pathological signs of AD. This study aims to explore the potential of mAbs as alternative pharmacological therapies for the elderly with AD. This study uses a scoping review design based on the PAGER framework. The results of the study were identified based on the PRISMA-ScR protocol and criticized using the JBI Critical Appraisal Checklist. Article searches were conducted through 3 databases including EBSCO-Host Academic Science Complete, PubMed, and ScienceDirect, and 3 online resources including Sage Journals, Taylor Francis, and Google Scholar. Inclusion criteria were full English text, primary research articles, and published between 2018-2022.A total of 8 articles were included in the review. Most of the evidence shows 6 mAbs have potential to reduce amyloid-β accumulation in AD patients. Alternative therapy with monoclonal antibodies has side effects that represent a major problem in the high incidence of vasogenic cerebral edema and micro cerebral hemorrhage or Amyloid Related Imaging Abnormalities (ARIA). Plasma tau has the potential to strengthen the clinical diagnosis of AD. The use of mAbs as AD immunotherapy can reduce amyloid-β with side effects that are monitored continuously. Differences in mAb examination results can be influenced by less accurate clinical diagnostic accuracy.

Abstract

Postpartum mothers often experience emotional changes characterized by unexplained crying, irritability, and excessive anxiety, commonly known as postpartum depression. If left untreated, postpartum depression may progress to major depressive disorder, reduce a mother's ability to care for her newborn, hinder mother–infant bonding, and increase the risk of developmental and psychosocial problems in the child later in life. Therefore, early psychosocial support is essential to help mothers adapt emotionally and prevent long-term consequences. This case study aims to explore the role of psychosocial support provided by nurses in reducing postpartum depression. Methods: This study employed a descriptive case study approach conducted in the Jade Ward of RSUD dr. Slamet Garut. The subject was Mrs. R, a 24-year-old mother on days 18, 19, and 20 post–cesarean section. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and medical record reviews. The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) was used to assess depression levels before and after the intervention. The main intervention consisted of psychosocial support delivered over three days through therapeutic communication, emotional exploration, relaxation exercises, and facilitation of family support. Results: The EPDS score decreased from 15 to 10 after three days of intervention. Subjectively, the mother reported feeling calmer, began showing interest in caring for her baby, and became more open in communicating with her family. Conclusion: Psychosocial support effectively reduced postpartum depression by enhancing emotional well-being and perceived social support. Nurses are expected to play roles as educators, counselors, and facilitators of family involvement in supporting the psychological adaptation of postpartum mothers.

Abstract

Not optimal information system facilities have become one of the obstacles in the learning process so that in some courses the failure rate is still high, one of which is maternity nursing so that effective and interesting learning media is needed, one of which is the Maternal Care Application. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Maternal Care Application in increasing knowledge of Intranatal Standard Operating Procedures (SPO) in Undergraduate Nursing Students. The type of research used is quantitative experimental in nature, using quasi-experimental rankings, with the form of pre-test and post-test with control group design, with the experimental group using applications and controls using power point. The population in this study was 144 active students in the second semester of the Bachelor of Nursing Study Program using simple random sampling of 60 students. Normalized gain test (N-Gain) is used to determine the score of knowledge before and after treatment. The results showed that the application of Maternal Care was quite effective in increasing knowledge of intranatal SPO with a gain score of 0.588. In this application the researcher presents material and videos about SPO at any time with the hope that it will make it easier for students to memorize so that student knowledge increases
