Abstract

Anxiety is a common psychological problem experienced by breast cancer patients and can negatively impact quality of life and treatment adherence. Several studies have evaluated yoga as a complementary therapy to reduce anxiety in breast cancer patients, but these research results are still scattered and have not been systematically summarized. Therefore, this article aims to conduct a systematic review to evaluate the effectiveness of yoga as complementary therapy in reducing anxiety levels in breast cancer patients. The method used is a systematic review with the PICO approach (Population: breast cancer patients; Intervention: yoga; Comparison: standard care or without yoga; Outcome: anxiety level). The literature search was conducted through four electronic databases: ScienceDirect, EBSCO Host, PubMed, and Springer. The article selection process followed the PRISMA guidelines. Of the total articles obtained during the initial search stage, 8 article met the inclusion criteria: articles in English, published between 2020-2025, using a Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) or Quasi-Experimental design, and involving adult patients with breast cancer. The review results indicate that yoga is effective in reducing anxiety levels, increasing relaxation, and improving the psychological well-being of breast cancer patients. Further research is recommended using experimental designs with large sample sizes to strengthen the evidence for yoga’s effectiveness in breast cancer patients.

Abstract

Young women in Islamic boarding schools don’t receive education about personal hygiene in genetics and don’t have sufficient access to sources of information. Within the scope of Islamic boarding schools, no counseling or programs are ever carried out, only how to maintain personal hygiene as a whole. The phenomenon found in young women in Islamic boarding schools is that there is still very little knowledge about personal genetic hygiene. The results of a preliminary study conducted on the board of supervisors of female Islamic boarding schools predominantly do not yet know about good genetic personal hygiene. The aim of the research is to determine the difference between personal hygiene education through video and leaflet media on knowledge, attitudes and perceptions of personal hygiene for young women in Islamic boarding schools, Kec. Kahu District Bone. The type of research used was a quasi-experiment with a Pretest Posttest Two Group Design. The sample in this study was the total population where the sample at the Darul Abrar Islamic boarding school (intervention group) was 40 female students and the Al Balaq Islamic boarding school (control group) was 40 female students. Sample selection was total sampling. The data collection technique used was to divide into 2 groups where 40 people were given video media and 40 people were given leaflet media. The research results showed that video media had a significant effect compared to leaflet media on personal hygiene of genetics because the video presented by the researcher was very clear and the respondents listened and analyzed what they saw from the video presented during the research. This research has important implications in nursing management, especially regarding personal genital hygiene because it requires cooperation from related parties in socializing to teenagers how important it is to carry out personal genital hygiene.

Abstract

High-risk pregnancy is a major global health issue, marked by high maternal and infant mortality rates, and poses both physical and psychological challenges for women. This study aimed to explore the experiences of women with high-risk pregnancies through a scoping and literature review using Medline, PubMed, and Scopus. The search utilized keywords related to maternal experiences in high-risk pregnancies and included qualitative and mixed-method studies published in English from 2016 to 2024. A total of 15 articles were reviewed, revealing six key experiences: continuous care, communication, psychological support, non-pharmacological therapies, understanding of risks, and technological advancements. Findings indicate that social support, ongoing healthcare access, and health technologies can reduce anxiety and improve well-being. Effective communication, continuous care models, and telemonitoring during the pandemic have shown positive impacts on managing high-risk pregnancies.
