Abstract

Algorithm DES (Double Exponential Smoothing) Brown is a forecasting algorithm used to predict time series data both patterned positive trends and negative trends. However, this algorithm has a weakness in determining the optimum parameter value to minimize forecasting error (MAPE), the parameter value is searched using Golden Section method previously searched manually using repeated experiment. This research uses 60 trend patterned data analyzed for grouping positive and negative trend pattern data which further done forecasting process, evaluation and testing to know what type of data pattern is best. Based on the result, it revealed that optimization parameter yields optimum MAPE value, where parameter value is done forecasting process in positive and negative trend pattern data group yielding average MAPE value equal to 9,73401% (highly accurate) for patterned data positive trend and 15,78467% (good forecast) for negative patterned pattern data. DES Brown forecasting algorithm with parameter optimization method resulted in the approximate value of the original data if the data shows the addition or decrease in value around the average value. Conversely, it will result in a high MAPE value (inaccurate) if the data has a spike in data value periods. From the two groups of MAPE scores, a statistical t test showed that positive trend patterned data (μ1) yielded better MAPE average value than negative trend patterned data (μ2).

Abstract

Twitter is a social media that interacts through 140-character text-based tweet posts including photos, videos and hyperlinks. Spam tweets contain harmful messages sent continuously. Besides disturbing it is also dangerous for the recipient, exacerbated by the use of bots that automatically and quickly spread spam messages that can cause data damage. This study aims to detect spam bots by utilizing the similarity of tweets using Smith Waterman and the posting time interval. Data tweets are collected using scrap libraries in python in the form of id, text, time, link, based on datasets labeled as available. The data is carried out by text preprocessing steps to clean the text and then do the calculations. The calculation results of both the similarity method and the post time interval are then classified with k-Neaset Neighbor with the previous dataset that has been labeled to get the spam or legitimate bot prediction results. The results of classification experiments with several combinations of k to detect spam bots with similarity criteria and entropy interval obtained the best results k = 3 Neirest Neighbor and 10 fold Cross Validation with a predictive value of detection accuracy of 80%, 84% precission and 84% recall.

Abstract

The popularity of Youtube as the largest video sharing website in the wolrd give spammers opportunities to get benefit from Youtube in illegal ways by putting spam comments on Youtube's videos. Spam comments are very troubling to channel owners. The variants of spam comments are becoming more difficult to detect. One of them is spam comments using abbreviations, symbols, terms or misspelled word to make detection difficult. This research evaluate some classification techniques and employ text normalization method called TextExpansion to deal with this problem. This research uses Youtube Spam Collections dataset from UCI Machine Learning Library composed by five different datasets, which each one contains text comments extracted from YouTube videos (Psy, Katty Perry, LMFAO, Eminem and Shakira). The evaluation results shows TextExpansion is able to produce the highest accuracy value of 90.23%. To determine the impact of applying the TextExpansion method, this research conducted t-test for each dataset. The results of t-test for each dataset shows P(T<=t) two-tail < 0.05 which indicates a significant impact after applying text normalization using TextExpansion.

Abstract

N-Queen problem is a form of puzzle game that uses chess rules for the queen on the standard chessboard with modified size. The challenge of the n-queen problem is finding the N ( N is positive integer) queens position on the chessboard, so that no queen can attack another queen on the board in a single move. Implementation of firefly algorithm in n-queens problem in this study aims to find n-queen problem solutions and count the number of iterations to achieve the optimal solution of each queen which will then be compared with the results of Sarkar and Nag's research (2017). This study uses an experimental method with a number of N between 10 to 20 and uses a population of 15 and 1000 firefly. The results showed that the firefly algorithm is able to find all the optimal solutions for the queen's position on a chessboard with dimensions 10 to 20 in a population of 1000 firefly. The firefly algorithm can find the optimal solution fewer iterations compared to the genetic algorithm. According to the experiment, firefly algorithm shows better performance in finding the optimal solution compared to genetic algorithm.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the performance of various Transformer models in social media-based classification tasks, specifically focusing on applications in personality profiling. With the growing interest in leveraging social media as a data source for understanding individual personality traits, selecting an appropriate model becomes crucial for enhancing accuracy and efficiency in large-scale data processing. Accurate personality profiling can provide valuable insights for applications in psychology, marketing, and personalized recommendations. In this context, models such as BERT, RoBERTa, DistilBERT, TinyBERT, MobileBERT, and ALBERT are utilized in this study to understand their performance differences under varying configurations and dataset conditions, assessing their suitability for nuanced personality profiling tasks. The research methodology involves four experimental scenarios with a structured process that includes data acquisition, preprocessing, tokenization, model fine-tuning, and evaluation. In Scenarios 1 and 2, a full dataset of 9,920 data points was used with standard fine-tuning parameters for all models. In contrast, ALBERT in Scenario 2 was optimized using customized batch size, learning rate, and weight decay. Scenarios 3 and 4 used 30% of the total dataset, with additional adjustments for ALBERT to examine its performance under specific conditions. Each scenario is designed to test model robustness against variations in parameters and dataset size. The experimental results underscore the importance of tailoring fine-tuning parameters to optimize model performance, particularly for parameter-efficient models like ALBERT. ALBERT and MobileBERT demonstrated strong performance across conditions, excelling in scenarios requiring accuracy and efficiency. BERT proved to be a robust and reliable choice, maintaining high performance even with reduced data, while RoBERTa and DistilBERT may require further adjustments to adapt to data-limited conditions. Although efficient, TinyBERT may fall short on tasks demanding high accuracy due to its limited representational capacity. Selecting the right model requires balancing computational efficiency, task-specific requirements, and data complexity.
