Abstract

Broccoli is one of the prospective horticultural products to be developed, beside it has a good nutrition for health, broccoli also hasan interesting physical form. Broccoli is generally preferred by consumers of modern market, sold as fresh with adjust table size with consumer demand. On the other hand, broccoli has aperishable nature, with an unique morphological characteristics. Modern market demand requires a certainspec for broccoli, it cause farmers had tochange the way they do in their  business, so that their products are well received by the modern market. There fore, this study aims to determine the entrepreneurial orientation offarmersso it canmeet the demand ofbroccolito themodernmarket. Broccoli’s Farmer has a high entrepreneurial spirit, as seen from the orientation of farmers in view the future. Farmers see the modern market as an alternative market with a huge potential market in the future, so that the farmers do a variety of creative effort to make their business performance more efficiently so it can serve the  modern market better. The method usedinthisstudyis thecase studies method, theanalysis techniqueused isdescriptive qualitativeanalysis. Research shows that broccoli farmers as an entrepreneur has an unique characteristics and valuesin running their business. Broccoli farmes entrepreneurial orientation in Kecamatan Lembang emphasizes the creation of business innovation, always doing to do the improvement process of their supply chain product, namely with implementing strategies for business collaboration with other actors in the broccoli supply chain. They also always proactivein receivinga request from the modern market as an alternative market for their business, so their businesses can be more competitive and be able to runcontinuously.

Abstract

Peluang pasar sayuran organic yang meningkat kurang diikuti dengan meningkatnya jumlah petani yang mengusahakan sayuran organic karena tingkat adopsi sayuran organic masih terbilang lambat. Pemahaman mengenai persepsi petani merupakan hal penting untuk menyusun kebijakan pengembangan pertanian organic di masa yang akan datang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi petani terhadap teknologi budidaya sayuran organic serta hubungannya dengan karakteristik petani.Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Lembang, Parongpong dan Cisarua Kabupaten Bandung Barat denga responden 60 orang petani sayuran organic. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan menggunakan analisis korelasi rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan petani memiliki persepsi yang positif terhadap keuntungan membudidayakansayuran organic, kesesuaian teknologi budidaya dengan kelestarian lingkungan, kemudahan dalam pelaksanaan budidaya sayuran organic, serta kemudahan mendapatkan informasi teknis budidaya.Dukungan dan pendampingan dari pemerintah sangan dibutuhkan untuk meningkatkan motivasi petani dalam mengembangkan praktek pertanian organic.

Abstract

This study aims to identify entrepreneurial characteristics possessed by young farmers. Young farmers who are the object of study are horticulture farmers in Kabupaten Bandung Barat. This study tries to explain the characteristics of farmers in terms of entrepreneurship. This study focuses on young farmers in Cisarua, Parongpong, and Lembang Subdistricts, with land ownership of no more than two hectares (small scale). The determination of the sample is done by a stratified random sampling method. The strata in this study are young farmers under the age of 40 and farming in the sub-sector of horticulture products in Kabupaten Bandung Barat. The next step is to determine the sample in the study as many as 120 farmers. Farmers who play a role as entrepreneurs are not only experts in the production process, but they have visionary results-oriented business managerial skills. The results of the study show that the majority of respondents have moderate (moderate) entrepreneurial characteristics. This is more due to the farming climate in rural areas which is still moderate, not oriented to professionalism and entrepreneurship. However, young farmers have a desire to develop, so that their business processes are different from those of farmers in general, where young farmers are starting to implement professional work methods in their gardens. The entrepreneurial approach has been seen in the way they do business, where they always want to be better, always look for the latest information, create innovations in the garden, apply management in their farming and take risks.

Abstract

Acreage and production of tea plant in Purwakarta decreased compared to previous years. Price of tea leaf  is less favorable making farmers less eager to continue to pursue this commodity. Sindangpanon farmer group seeks to increase the value added tea leaf to process into dry tea, but various obstacles make this business has not developed. The purpose of this study was to: 1) analyze the problems faced by farmers' groups in running the business processing tea leaf; 2) analyze the impact of efforts to increase the capacity of farmer groups to produce competitive products. This study is an action research and designed with a qualitative design. Informants in this study is the management and members of farmer groups Sindangpanon well as the staff of the Department of Agriculture, Plantation and forestry, PurwakartaDistrict. Data were analyzed with descriptive analysis. The results showed the tea leaf processing enterprises difficult to develop due to lack of competitive products, the market is still limited and the managerial ability needs to be improved. Event strengthening the capacity of farmer groups that do have an impact on increasing the knowledge and skills of the group members in running the business and increased sales volume.

Abstract

Market demand, especially structured markets demands quality and continuity of production, in addition to the quantity aspect. Mango farmers in Majalengka Regency have also not been fully able to meet market demand, especially in terms of quality and product continuity. Farmers must be able to follow market demand in order to survive in their business and be able to compete with mango farmers in other countries. The limitations of farmers in accessing capital, markets and information often become obstacles for farmers in developing their businesses. The purpose of this study was to analyze the accessibility of farmers to agricultural information and analyze the relationship of farmers' accessibility to agricultural information with entrepreneurial behavior of mango farmers in Majalengka District. Entrepreneurial behavior of farmers can be built one of them through appropriate communication strategies so that mango farmers can develop their businesses to improve the welfare of farmers. The research was carried out with Survey-explanatory method. Farmers were taken randomly as many as 100 people. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and inferently. To analyze the relationship between various variables the research was carried out by rank Spearman correlation analysis. The results of this study showed that some farmers find it quite difficult to obtain information about technical cultivation and climatic or weather conditions, while market information is perceived to be easily accessible to most farmers. Entrepreneurial behavior is related to farmers' accessibility to cultivation information and climatic or weather conditions. Information and communication technology can be used to improve farmers' accessibility to agricultural information

Abstract

Pada tahun 2016, pemerintah Indonesia mengeluarkan program pengembangan 1.000 desa pertanian organik. Kelompok tani Sarinah Organik merupakan kelompok tani yang terlibat secara langsung dalam pelaksanaan program desa pertanian organik tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pelaksanaan program desa pertanian organik yang dilakukan oleh Kelompok Tani Sarinah Organik dan kendala apa saja yang muncul selama pelaksanaan program. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pendekatan studi kasus. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan model analisis data Miles and Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kelompok tani Sarinah Organik telah melaksanakan semua tahapan program desa pertanian organik. Hal ini dilihat dari bertambah luasnya lahan sawah tersertifikasi sebesar 18,337 hektar dan jumlah petani organik sebanyak 44 orang. Sementara itu, kendala yang muncul selama pelaksanaan program adalah kurangnya pengetahuan petani tentang sistem pertanian organik, kendala dalam menentukan calon petani organik, kendala dalam menentukan wilayah pengembangan organik, dan tidak berjalannya kegiatan pembuatan pupuk dan pestisida organik yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Ketahanan pangan dalam rumah tangga petani adalah faktor penting dalam mewujudkan ketahanan pangan nasional. Petani yang tahan pangan adalah petani yang tidak menerima bantuan pemerintah dalam bentuk rastra (beras sejahtera) sebaliknya petani yang tidak tahan pangan adalah petani yang menerima bantuan pemerintah yaitu rastra. Dalam pelaksanaan usaha tani, kinerja seorang petani dipengaruhi oleh motivasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi motivasi petani dalam mewujudkan ketahanan pangan rumah tangga petani padi sawah serta mengetahui faktor-faktor yang cenderung berhubungan dengan motivasi petani dalam mewujudkan ketahanan pangan rumah tangga petani padi sawah. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Jatiragas Hilir, Kecamatan Patok Besi, Kabupaten Subang. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan secara purposif terhadap 29 petani di Desa Jatiragas Hilir yang menerapkan usaha tani padi sawah. Desain penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Analisis yang digunakan adalah deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa petani penerima rastra memiliki motivasi yang tinggi dalam mewujudkan ketahanan pangan rumah tangga petani padi sawah sedangkan petani bukan penerima rastra memiliki motivasi yang rendah dalam mewujudkan ketahanan pangan rumah tangga petani padi sawah. Faktor internal yang cenderung berhubungan antara petani penerima rastra dengan motivasinya dalam mewujudkan ketahanan pangan rumah tangga petani padi sawah adalah umur, pengalaman usaha tani, luas lahan garapan sedangkan faktor eksternalnya adalah ketersedian modal dan ketersediaan sarana dan prasarana produksi dalam usaha tani padi sawah tersebut. Namun tidak terdapat kecenderungan berhubungan antara faktor eksternal dan internal dengan motivasi petani bukan penerima rastra dalam mewujudkan ketahanan pangan rumah tangga petani padi sawah.Kata kunci: motivasi, petani , padi sawah, ketahanan pangan rumah tangga petani

Abstract

WOMEN FARMERS EMPOWERMENT IN SOYBEAN CULTIVATION OF SUPERIOR VARIETIES RAW MATERIAL OF TOFU PRODUCTION. Soybean is one of the important crops containing high protein content. The demand of soybean increases from year to year, because the domestic production could not reach the market demand and it is still imported. Therefore, the necessary effort to increase soybean production must be done such as by expanding the planting area, planting superior varieties especially for raw materials of tofu, and the cultivation techniques. Sumedang is one of the centers of tofu production in West Java that has the suitable agro-climatic conditions for soybeanproduction as a raw material. Some of the farm communities have cultivated soybeans, however they still needs the efforts to increase the soybean production especially for the types of soybean for raw material of tofu production. The aim of IbM activity is to socialize and make a pilot demonstration plot of some of superior soybean varieties for tofu production in Sumedang. The results of these activities include: (1) the demonstration plots of soybean varieties, (2) producing the high seed quality of superior soybean varieties, (3) improving skill and knowledge of farmers in the cultivation of superior soybean varieties and also pest and disease control, (4) obtaining the samples of tofu from superior soybean varieties grown in partner locations.

Abstract

Persaingan dan kompetisi dalam dunia usaha yang semakin ketat menuntut perusahaan untuk bertahan dalam kondisi yang baik dan berkembang lebih cepat. Selain faktor modal, kemampuan perusahaan untuk bertahan dari persaingan usaha sangat ditentukan oleh keunggulan sumber daya manusia yang dimiliki oleh perusahaan. PT Trisna Naga Asih merupakan perusahaan pertanian di bidang hortikultura yang telah mampu memenuhi faktor produksi dengan baik namun belum dilakukan manajemen sumber daya yang tepat sehingga para pekerja belum memiliki semangat kerja dan motivasi yang tinggi terhadap pekerjaannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui hubungan lingkungan kerja dengan motivasi pekerja kebun. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kuantitatif dengan teknik penelitian deskriptif. Analisis data menggunakan metode korelasi rank spearman untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kedua variabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara lingkungan kerja dengan motivasi pekerja kebun PT Trisna Naga Asih Kabupaten Subang.

Abstract

Sabila Farm is a plantation that plants various commodities, and dragon fruit is its superior commodity. But its production and productivity are declining. The purpose of this study is to determine its agribusiness performance, identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of business and determine agribusiness development strategies that are appropriate to its condition. This research is conducted through qualitative approach with case study method. Data collection techniques or information by means of participatory observation, in-depth interviews and literature studies. Informants that are being interviewed are the owner and staffs of Sabila Farm. All the data obtained from research are analyzed with SWOT and fishbone analysis. The result of this research is that Sabila Farm has managed its farming business quite well, although there are several obstacles that have caused the lower production and productivity, such as climate condition, lack of labour especially due to Covid-19 pandemic, and its traditional technology. Therefore, Sabila has to increase its labour and develop its technology. Sabila Farm adalah perkebunan yang mengusahakan berbagai komoditas, dimana buah Naga adalah komoditas unggulnya. Akan tetapi, produksi dan produktivitasnya semakin menurun. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui keragaan agribisnis di Sabila Farm Yogyakarta, mengidentifikasi kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang dan ancaman usaha dan menentukan strategi pengembangan agribisnis yang sesuai dengan keadaan. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, karena seluruh subsistem agribisnis akan diteliti secara mendalam. Teknik pengumpulan data atau informasi secara observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam dan studi literatur. Informan dalam wawancara yang dilakukan yaitu owner dan pegawai Sabila Farm. Seluruh data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan SWOT dan analisis fishbone. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu Sabila Farm sudah mengelola usaha taninya dengan cukup baik, walaupun ada beberapa kendala yang menyebabkan semakin rendahnya produksi dan produktivitas, seperti kondisi iklim, kurangnya tenaga kerja karena kondisi pandemi, dan masih sederhananya teknologi. Karena itu, Sabila sebaiknya menambah SDM dan mengembangkan teknologi budidayanya.
