Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using PowerPoint media in enhancing the geometric thinking skills of 6th-grade students, particularly in understanding the concepts of area, perimeter, and volume of solid figures. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design (one-group pretest-posttest design) at MI Nazhatut Tholibin, Probolinggo Regency. The research subjects consist of 20 students divided into two groups: the experimental group using PowerPoint and the control group using conventional teaching methods. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, interviews, and observations. The results of the study show that the use of PowerPoint significantly improved the students' learning outcomes. Statistical tests indicate that the data is normally distributed and the variance between groups is homogeneous. The Independent Sample t-Test results show a significant difference between the experimental and control groups, with a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). The posttest average score of the experimental group is higher than that of the control group, indicating the effectiveness of PowerPoint in helping students understand geometry. This study concludes that PowerPoint can be an effective alternative in mathematics learning, particularly in solid figures.

Abstract

Numeracy literacy skills play a crucial role in the Independent Learning Curriculum. Currently, students' literacy skills are geared towards more independent learning. With these skills, students can solve problems accurately and develop critical thinking towards their challenges. This study aims to evaluate students' abilities in numeracy literacy in the era of more independent learning. This study focuses on eighth-grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Probolinggo, consisting of 28 students who have followed the Independent Curriculum. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, collecting data through written tests with five questions encompassing various aspects of numeracy literacy skills. Indicators for numeracy literacy skills include (1) Using numbers and mathematical symbols to solve everyday problems; (2) Analyzing information in various forms (graphs, tables, etc.; and (3) Interpreting analysis results to predict, formulate, and make decisions. Data were analyzed by calculating the average percentage for each indicator of numeracy literacy skills. The analysis results show that the numeracy literacy skills of junior high school students in the era of independent learning are still at a low level.

Abstract

This study evaluates the trends and effectiveness of web-based learning media in fostering creative thinking in elementary mathematics education through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Data were collected from Scopus and screened using clearly defined inclusion and exclusion criteria based on population, intervention type, study design, and creativity-related outcomes. Of the 36 identified documents, 7 met all criteria and were analyzed. The findings indicate a substantial increase in the use of web-based mathematics media over the last five years, driven by digital transformation and the demand for interactive learning environments. Web-based media were shown to enhance creative thinking through simulations, dynamic visualisations, and contextual problem-solving tasks. However, effectiveness depends on media design, pedagogical strategies, digital infrastructure, and teacher readiness. This review highlights the need for developing creativity-oriented web-based mathematics media that directly support higher-order thinking.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika di SMP Negeri 9 Kota Probolinggo. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru telah menerapkan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi, model pembelajaran berbasis proyek, dan pembelajaran kontekstual. Peran guru bertransformasi menjadi fasilitator, mendorong siswa untuk aktif berpartisipasi, berpikir kritis, dan menghubungkan materi matematika dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Penilaian dilakukan secara variatif melalui observasi proses, penugasan proyek, dan presentasi. Meski demikian, terdapat beberapa kendala seperti keterbatasan waktu penyusunan perangkat ajar, sarana prasarana, serta pemahaman asesmen autentik yang masih perlu ditingkatkan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Kurikulum Merdeka mampu memberikan perubahan positif dalam pembelajaran matematika, namun memerlukan dukungan berkelanjutan dari berbagai pihak agar implementasinya optimal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan karena pentingnya pemahaman dan pelaksanaan Kurikulum Merdeka, khususnya dalam pembelajaran matematika yang sering dipersepsikan sebagai pelajaran sulit dan kurang diminati siswa. Kurikulum ini menekankan fleksibilitas, penguatan kompetensi, serta pengembangan karakter peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana implementasi kurikulum merdeka pada pembelajaran matematika di SMP Negeri 6 Probolinggo. Metode yang digunakan dalam Penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan pembelajaran telah mengacu pada Capaian Pembelajaran (CP) dan Alur Tujuan Pembelajaran (ATP), didukung oleh modul ajar yang sesuai. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran menerapkan strategi berdiferensiasi dan melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Penilaian dilakukan secara menyeluruh melalui asesmen diagnostik, formatif, dan sumatif. Meskipun pelaksanaan kurikulum berjalan cukup baik, masih ditemukan hambatan dalam pengelolaan waktu dan pemahaman guru terhadap strategi diferensiasi. Kesimpulan yang didapat yaitu Implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka di SMP Negeri 6 Probolinggo menunjukkan hasil yang cukup baik dalam aspek perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan penilaian. Penelitian ini diharapkan memeberikan kontribusi sebagai rujukan dalam pengembangan praktik pembelajaran matematika yang kontekstual dan berpusat pada siswa di jenjang SMP.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan media papan jurang dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep penjumlahan susun pada siswa kelas II MI Darul Ma’arif Kramatagung Bantaran. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari permasalahan umum yang dialami siswa sekolah dasar, yaitu kesulitan memahami konsep dasar matematika, khususnya operasi penjumlahan dan pengurangan yang masih bersifat abstrak. Untuk menjembatani hal tersebut, digunakan media papan jurang sebagai alat bantu visual dan kinestetik agar proses belajar menjadi lebih konkret, menyenangkan, dan bermakna. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media papan jurang mampu memperkuat pemahaman konsep matematis siswa, terutama dalam mengenali nilai tempat dan proses penjumlahan secara vertikal. Siswa terlihat lebih antusias, aktif, dan berani mencoba selama pembelajaran berlangsung. Selain itu, media ini juga menciptakan suasana belajar yang kolaboratif dan interaktif, di mana siswa saling berdiskusi dan bekerja sama dalam kelompok. Guru berperan sebagai fasilitator yang memandu proses belajar dengan pendekatan humanis dan partisipatif. Dengan demikian, papan jurang tidak hanya membantu siswa memahami konsep penjumlahan susun secara kognitif, tetapi juga menumbuhkan keterampilan sosial seperti kerja sama, komunikasi, dan saling menghargai. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa media papan jurang merupakan inovasi pembelajaran sederhana namun efektif untuk memperkuat pemahaman konsep matematika dasar pada siswa kelas rendah madrasah ibtidaiyah. Media ini layak dikembangkan lebih lanjut sebagai alternatif pembelajaran kontekstual yang menghubungkan dunia abstrak angka dengan pengalaman konkret anak.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using place value media in teaching mathematics to second-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) or elementary schools (SD). The concept of place value—including units, tens, and hundreds—is a fundamental component in early mathematics education. However, many students struggle to grasp this concept abstractly. Therefore, concrete instructional media such as Dienes blocks, number cards, and place value charts are employed as visual aids to facilitate learning. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the use of place value media significantly enhances students' understanding of number concepts. Students become more engaged, enthusiastic, and are better able to solve problems. These findings suggest that appropriate instructional media play a vital role in improving the quality of mathematics learning in lower primary education.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of teachers in shaping students’ character through Aqidah Akhlak learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Raudlatul Hasan. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological design was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of character education practices. The research subjects included Aqidah Akhlak teachers, upper-grade students, and school administrators, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation studies of instructional materials. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, supported by source and method triangulation to ensure data validity.The findings indicate that teachers play a crucial role as moral role models, facilitators, and agents of character transformation by integrating values such as honesty, responsibility, and empathy into the learning process. Teachers’ exemplary behavior and contextual approaches, including the use of inspirational stories and reflective discussions, were found to be effective in fostering positive character traits among students. However, limited instructional time and the diversity of students’ backgrounds remain challenges that require specific strategies to address. This study recommends enhancing teacher training and developing a more integrated curriculum to strengthen character education. Overall, the findings emphasize the importance of the role of Aqidah Akhlak teachers at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Raudlatul Hasan in shaping a generation with noble character grounded in moral values.
