Abstract

Kurikulum merupakan pedoman yang digunakan untuk menyelenggarakan kegiatan pembelajaran yang berisi rencana, peraturan, tujuan, isi dan bahan pelajaran demi tercapainya tujuan pendidikan. Terdapat lima tujuan umum dalam pembelajaran matematika yang dirancang oleh National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM, 2000) yaitu pertama, belajar memecahkan masalah; kedua, belajar menalar; ketiga, belajar berkomunikasi; keempat belajar mengaitkan ide; kelima, belajar membuat representasi. Dengan berdasar pada lima tujuan pembelajaran matematika menurut NCTM mencakup belajar memecahkan masalah, menalar, mengkomunikasikan, mengaitkan ide, dan membuat representasi yang berarti perkembangan kurikulum matematika setidaknya mencakup kelima hal tersebut. Perkembangan kurikulum dari waktu ke waktu menuntut siswa untuk mandiri dan aktif serta dapat memahami dan memanfaatkan pengetahuannya. Dalam proses pembelajaran guru berperan penting dalam mengimplementasikan penerapan kurikulum. Siswa memang belajar mendapatkan informasi secara aktif, tetapi guru hendaknya dapat memilih dan menggunakan strategi yang tepat untuk melibatkan siswa aktif dalam belajar. Sebaik apapun rancangan kurikulum akan menjadi tidak berarti apabila guru sebagai pelaksana tidak dapat menguasai dan memahami kurikulum tersebut dalam kemasan pembelajaran yang baik dan bermakna.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze students' misconceptions about straight line equations, using the Three Tier-Test instrument and interviews. This research has subjects, namely class VIII B students at SMPN 15 Serang City with a total of 19 students. This research resulted in: (1) Misconceptions experienced in each category of students' initial abilities. (2) The cause of a misconception faced by students. (3) How to overcome misconceptions faced by students.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam matematika sangat penting, karena kemampuan tersebut sangat membantu siswa untuk memecahkan permasalahan dalam  kehidupan sehari-hari. Terkait dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa, kemampuan awal berpengaruh pada proses tersebut, karena kemampuan awal siswa merupakan prasyarat awal yang harus dimiiki agar proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan dapat berjalan dengan baik. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini untuk melihat apakah kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang memperoleh perlakakuan pembelajaran problem based learning menggunakan psychological tools lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh perlakuan pembelajaran PBL dan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa apabila dilihat dari kemampuan awal matematis pada siswa kelas VIII SMPN 5 Kota Serang tahun ajaran 2022/2023 sampel penelitian ini ialah kelas VIII J sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII I sebagai kelas kontrol.  Metode yang diterapkan ialah mix method dengan concurrent embedded design. Data yang diperoleh berbentuk hasil pretest dan posttest, tes kemampuan awal matematis, dan wawancara. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis berupa statistika deskriptif, statistika inferensia kemudian dilanjutkan dengan uji two-way anova dan uji lanjut scheffe. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan problem based learning menggunakan psychological tools memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa.

Abstract

Salah satu pemicu kegagalan siswa memahami pembelajarann matematika ialah dikarenakan tidak paham konsep atau miskonsepsi, contohnya pada materi aljabar. Gaya belajar terkadang menjadi hal yang dapat memudahkan siswa dalam memahami materi, akan tetapi kenyataannya saat ini gaya belajar belum mendapat perhatian yang lebih dari pendidik. Maka dari itu, peneliti  ini ditujukan untuk mendeskripsikan miskonsepsi siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah aljabar ditinjau dari gaya belajar, mengetahui faktor penyebab miskonsepsi siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah aljabar ditinjau dari gaya belajar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deksriptif kualitatif. dengan subjek penelitian ialah 6 siswa kelas VII SMPN 13 Kota Serang yang diambil dari perwakilan tiap gaya belajar VAK yang mengalami miskonsepsi pada penyelesaian soal sebagai subjek penelitian. Berdasarkan penelitian ini diperoleh hasil bahwa:(a)Miskonsepsi siswa visual diantaranya menentukan letak unsur-unsur bentuk aljabar, menyelesaikan operasi hitung dan rumus yang digunakan, mendefiinisikan konstanta, koefisien, dan suku dua. Miskonsepsi siswa auditorial diantaranya menentukan letak unsur-unsur bentuk aljabar, menyelesaikan operasi hitung, dan mendefiinisikan persamaan aljabar. Miskonsepsi siwa kinestetik diantaranya menentukan letak unsur-unsur bentuk aljabar, menyelesaikan operasi hitung, merepresentasikan soal cerita, dan mendefiinisikan koefisien, konstanta, dan suku sejenis. (b) faktor penyebab miskonsepsi ialah prakonsepsi siswa, pemikiran asosiatif, reasoning yang tidak lengkap, intuisi dan perasaan yang salah, ketakutan bertanya pada guru,serta minat siswa.

Abstract

This research develops learning media with a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics (STEAM) approach based on Augmented Reality (AR) to improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities on geometric concepts. This method uses design-based research (DBR). The development stages consist of needs assessment and literature review, design and development, user testing to analyze user responses and evaluation and examination of the media devices being developed. The research subjects for expert tests included media experts and education experts, practicality tests for teachers, response tests for ten high school students, and examination stage tests for 30 high schools in Indonesia. The instruments used were media expert questionnaires, education expert questionnaires, practicality questionnaires, and tests. The media developed is called Augmented Reality Mathematics (ARM). The results of this research are 1) ARM media expert test in the very good category, 2) ARM educational media expert test in the very good category, 3) ARM media practicality test in the good category, 4) responses from students who use ARM media in the very good category, and 5) ARM media can improve mathematical problem-solving abilities in the moderate category. The findings of this research are that AR media is effectively used to improve students' problem-solving abilities in medium-category geometry concepts using the STEAM approach. This research concludes that using ARM media with STEAM learning can improve problem-solving abilities in geometric concepts.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Citizenship Education (PKn) has a very important role, through Civics courses it is hoped that it will be able to form students who have national insight and homeland ideals. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between student perceptions of courses and Civics learning achievement. The research hypothesis is that there is a relationship between student's perceptions of the course and their civics learning achievement. The method in this research is a survey using correlation techniques. The entire research population consisted of 1st-semester students in the Primary School Teacher Education study program, FKIP, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University, Class of 2022/2023. The sample was obtained using a proportional random sampling system taking 30% of the population. Based on the results of data analysis, shows that the more positive a student's perception of a course is, the higher their learning achievement tends to be with a correlation coefficient of 0.658. It can be concluded that Civics learning achievement can be improved by building students' positive attitudes towards the subject.

Abstract

This research aimed to examine students mathematical connection ability based on previous ability and gender. The instruments of the study were the researcher as the main instrument, the test of prior knowledge, the test of connection ability, interview and documentation. The triangulation technique was used for the data (test, observation, interview, and documentation). The subject of this research were six students representing each category of the previous ability. Three indicators of mathematical connection ability used in this research, namely: connections between mathematical topics, connections with the science other than mathematics, and connection with life. The results showed that 1) high-ability male subject had high levels of mathematical connection ability on indicators of connection with life, 2) high-ability female subject had high level of mathematical connection ability on indicators of connection with the science other than mathematics, 3) medium-ability male subject had high levels of mathematical connection ability on indicators between topics mathematics, 4) medium-ability female subject had high levels of mathematical connection ability on indicators between topics mathematics, 5) low-ability male subject had high levels of mathematical connection ability on indicators between topics mathematics, 6) low-ability female subject had high levels of mathematical connection ability on indicators between topics mathematics.

Abstract

This study aims to develop STEAM-based learning tools integrated with the Techno-Analogy Inquiry (TAI) model to enhance elementary school students’ scientific thinking skills. The novelty of the TAI model lies in its integration of inquiry processes with technology-supported analogical reasoning, which serves as a cognitive bridge to help students connect abstract scientific concepts with familiar real-life experiences. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model. The participants consisted of 29 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through expert validation of the content, language, and media aspects conducted by four experts using a 4-point Likert scale, as well as through pretest–posttest assessments, observations, and student response questionnaires. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, N-gain analysis, and paired-sample t-tests. The results indicate that the developed learning tools are highly feasible, with an average validation score of 87.5%. Students’ scientific thinking skills improved significantly, as reflected in the increase in the mean score from 47 on the pretest to 84 on the posttest. The N-gain score of 0.68 falls within the moderate-to-high category. Furthermore, the paired-sample t-test results revealed a statistically significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.001). These findings suggest that the integration of STEAM, inquiry-based learning, and technology-supported analogical reasoning through the TAI model is effective in enhancing students’ scientific thinking skills and in providing a more meaningful and conceptually accessible learning experience.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are the ability of students to analyse, evaluate, and make informed decisions based on available information. These skills are essential for students to gain a deeper understanding of learning materials and to solve problems independently. One effort to develop critical thinking skills is by implementing innovative learning models. This study aims to analyse the differences in the effectiveness of the STAD (Student Teams-Achievement Divisions) and PBL (Problem-Based Learning) models, using a differentiated approach to improve the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students in Indonesian language subjects. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation of the learning process, documentation, and literature review. The results show that both learning models have the potential to enhance students' critical thinking skills. However, there are significant differences in how each model accommodates students' diverse learning needs. The differentiated approach within the PBL model proved more effective, as it allows students to actively explore problems, collaborate, and find solutions through critical analysis. This study concludes that the PBL model with a differentiated approach has a greater impact on students' critical thinking development.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of the Index Card Match and Learning Station Rotation learning models on students' learning outcomes in Pancasila Education, specifically concerning the topic of Practicing Pancasila Values in Daily Life. The subjects of this study were 30 sixth-grade students at SDN Cipondoh Makmur. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, achievement tests, and document analysis. Each learning model was implemented over two meetings with different treatments. The observation results indicated that both models increased student engagement, although the Learning Station Rotation model created a more varied and collaborative learning atmosphere. The achievement test results showed that students taught using the Learning Station Rotation model had a higher average score (86.2) compared to those trained with the Index Card Match model (80.4). Although the difference was not statistically significant, the findings suggest that the Learning Station Rotation model tends to be more effective in enhancing students’ conceptual understanding and learning motivation. Therefore, both models can serve as alternative active learning strategies that are relevant to Pancasila Education in primary schools.
