Abstract

One of the agro-industrial activities carried out in Pekanbaru is the nata de coco agro-industry. Nata de coco is made from coconut water waste which can be a form of fresh drink that resembles jelly or jelly. This study aims to determine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of Sari Coco agro-industry and formulate a development strategy for Sari Coco agro-industry in Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted in Sari Coco agro-industry in Rumbai Sub-district, Pekanbaru City. Descriptive analysis was conducted to analyse the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of Sari Coco agro-industry. To formulate the development strategy of Sari Coco agro-industry in Pekanbaru City, SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) and AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) were used. The strengths of Sari Coco agro-industry are MUI Halal certified, having regular customers, cheaper product prices and being able to compete with similar production, as well as diverse flavours and shapes. The priority strategies for the development of Sari Coco agro-industry in Pekanbaru City are maintaining competitive product prices, utilising technology to attract customers, improving product marketing, utilising technological advances, innovating packaging sizes and taking advantage of market opportunities.

Abstract

Rubber is one of the leading and strategic plantation commodities, its role is quite large in encouraging the people's economy. Effective rubber marketing is the hope of farmers, so that farmers get a good rubber marketing strategy. The aim of the study was to develop recommendations for rubber marketing strategies in Kampa District, Kampar Regency. This study used survey methods, observations, and interviews with the sampling technique using snowball sampling, and the number of respondents was 27 people. SWOT analysis is used to develop a rubber marketing strategy and the discussion is presented in a qualitative descriptive manner. The results of the analysis of rubber marketing strategies in Kampa District, Kampar Regency are 1). Rubber marketing to factories is carried out through the Joint Business Group and the requirements for joining the Joint Business Group must not be burdensome to members as stipulated in the AD/ART of KUB; 2). The Joint Business Group cooperates with BUMDes to strengthen capital and build rubber storage warehouses; 3). The Joint Business Group evaluates the rubber factory's assessment of the rubber sold and the farmers improve the quality of the rubber according to the established standards; 4). The government helps rubber farmers make an MoU on rubber marketing with rubber factories.

Abstract

The presence of today's modern market has offer a complete shopping place known as the concept of "one stop shopping". Hypermart Pekanbaru has a vision and mission that emphasizes quality, including the quality of perishable fruit and vegetables. This study aimed to examine: (1) Diversity of agricultural products, especially horticulture available in Hypermart Pekanbaru; (2) Horticultural product quality standard applied by the company and (3) Fruit and vegetable quality control process implemented in Hypermart Pekanbaru. The research method used was case study, to understand in depth complex problems in Hypermart Pekanbaru. Primary data collection is done by observation and interview with management and company employees, while secondary data through literature study. The results showed that: (1) The diversity of horticultural products in Hypermart Pekanbaru consists of local fruit, imported fruit, local vegetables and imported vegetables; (2) The quality standard set by Department Produce Hypermart Pekanbaru is from the aspect of product freshness, product appearance, and product quality based on the shape, size, weight, texture and product packaging according to the characteristics of each fruit and vegetables and (3) Stages of quality control process fruits and vegetables that are implemented in Hypermart Pekanbaru include local supplier selection process, standardization of fruit and vegetable products according to predetermined criteria, and carrying out daily management activities especially maintaining hygiene aspects of storage area, preparation and sales of fruit and vegetables.

Abstract

Income distribution is an analysis used to see the level of income distribution in a certain class. Income distribution is obtained by identifying various sources of income of sample farmers, namely income from rubber farming, non-rubber farming income and non-agricultural income. In the study entitled Distribution Analysis of Household Income of Rubber Farmers in Kuapan Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency, the number of rubber farmers sampled was 50 farmers which were divided into 2 groups, namely non-owner tapping farmers (15 sample farmers) and tapping farmers as well as owners (35 farmers). sample farmers) with proportionate stratified random sampling and snowball sampling. Based on the results of the study, there was no income inequality either in the group of non-owner tapping farmers and the group of tapping farmers as well as owners. Where the combined Gini ratio index is 0.19. Based on the research, equity in both groups of farmers can occur because (1) tapping farmers have other income besides rubber farming (2) non-owner tapping farmers benefit from a profit-sharing system with a ratio of 1: 2 (3) tapping farmers as well as owners have to pay maintenance costs. and land clearing (4) non-owner tapping farmers only incur costs for tools and operational materials.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the adoption of breeders to the innovative Balitbangtan (KUB) native chicken in Kampar Regency and the level of adoption of breeders in adopting the KUB chicken innovation. This research was conducted to evaluate the program of the Riau Agricultural Technology Research Institute (BPTP), which is where the author works. The research lasted for one year, from July 2019 to July 2020. The research sample was taken by means of a census, namely all breeders who cultivated KUB chickens, totaling 50 breeders in Kampar Regency, were the samples in this study. The results showed that; The adoption rate of KUB Chicken breeders was low where most breeders chose not to continue to implement or adopt the KUB Chicken business and the KUB Chicken innovation characteristic factors had a very weak correlation or significance relationship to the KUB Chicken innovation adoption rate in Kampar Regency.

Abstract

Currently, granulated palm sugar (palm suiker) with local name “gula semut” becameknown and generally produced for export market and partly for domestic food industry.Great market prospects for granulated palm sugar can not be utilized by communitybecause majority of producers make solid (molded) palm sugar. In the district of RokanHulu, granulated palm sugar is only produced by one producer. This research is a casestudy of granulated palm sugar producer with the aims to study: (1) marketing strategyof granulated palm sugar; (2) external and internal marketing factors, and (3) alternativemarketing strategy. Analysis of qualitative description is to describe the marketing ofgranulated palm sugar in the form of marketing mix (product, price, promotion anddistribution). A quantitative analysis carried out to develop a marketing strategy withSWOT analysis. Conclusions of research: (1) product strategy of granulated palm sugaris applied through packaging attributes of halal label, barcode, license, product benefits,and area of origin; (2) the price of the sugar is Rp 30,000 per kg which is considered tooexpensive; (3) promotion strategy is still limited on personal selling by word of mouth;(4) strategy is direct distribution to consumers, and (5) recommended strategy is tomaintain the label and the brand and introduce product to general public, encourageproducers not to make wine to maintain continuity of the sugar production, set priceaccording to production costs while considering purchasing power, maintain healthstandard, and do continuous promotional activities.

Abstract

This research is aimed to analyze the marketing of coconut sugar based on the structure,conduct and performance of the market. This research is carried out in Indragiri HilirRegency by using survey method over the number of 32 samples. The samples are takenbay snowball sampling start with the sugar makers. The results of this research show thatmarket structure is likely to be monopsony, where trader middle man traders are moredominant while sugar makers are price taker. There are three marketing channels in thisresearch area. From market performance criteria it shows that the first channel is moreprofitable since the costs are much lower and more efficient compare to channel 2 and 3.Keywords: structure, coconut sugar, performance, margin.

Abstract

People commonly consume many types of sugar. However, the type of sugar most commonly consumed by the people of Pekanbaru City is white crystal sugar or granulated sugar. This study aims to determine the characteristics of consumers of white crystal sugar and consumer habits in shopping for white crystal sugar. The method used is descriptive analysis. The number of respondents who consumed white crystal sugar was 100 people. The results showed that the characteristics of white crystal sugar consumers in Pekanbaru City could be seen in age, gender, and occupation. White crystal sugar consumers are more dominant in shopping at traditional retail than modern retail. The brand of packaged white crystal sugar consumers are most interested in is Gulaku. Consumers of white crystal sugar make a purchase of 1 kg for each purchase. The frequency of consumers purchasing white crystal sugar is once per month. Consumers mostly use branded white crystal sugar for personal consumption. For business raw materials, they mostly use bulk white crystal sugar, and for personal consumption and business raw materials in Pekanbaru City mostly use bulk white crystal sugar

Abstract

The potential of coconut as one of economical agriculture commodities that can be processedinto products such as nata de coco and others. This survey study was conducted in Tembilahan,Indragiri Hilir District as an area which has the nata de coco agroindustry. This research wasconducted from May to August 2008. The results concluded that development strategies for natade coco indsutry are as follow: improve production planning capability, increase productioncapacity, improve the standard of product quality, enhance marketing campaigns through widerdistribution, diversify market segments and use institutions such as Aspari.
