Abstract

The growth and changes facing the hotel industry globally have in several ways affected the competence of its personnel. There is growing concern about graduate competency and what industry requires. Previous studies reveal that hospitality management programs do not adequately prepare hospitality students with the competencies necessary to fit today's workplace. Therefore, educational institutions must play their role in developing and instilling important competencies in their graduates so as to prepare them for the competitive world of work. This paper aims to investigate the competencies required by hospitality graduates from an industry perspective. This paper is based on previous studies regarding hospitality management competencies by considering competencies from the management competency model and generic skills framework. The Delphi technique was used to investigate graduate competencies from the perspective of the hospitality industry.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Audit Findings and Audit Opinions on the Corruption Level of the Regional Government of Lampung Province. The population of this study is the Regional Government of Lampung Province. The variables analyzed include Audit Findings which serve as an important tool to identify and reduce corrupt practices and Audit Opinions which highlight the important role of audit opinions. The multiple regression analysis method was used to see the influence of the two variables on the Corruption Level. The results showed that partially Audit Findings have a significant effect on the Corruption Rate, while Audit Opinions do not have a significant effect on the Corruption Rate. In addition, it simultaneously shows that both variables have a significant effect on the Corruption Rate. These findings indicate that audit findings have a greater effect on increasing the amount of corruption than Audit Opinions. Therefore, researchers suggest that the government needs to improve follow-up on audit findings that reveal irregularities in the management of government budgets or activities, implementing an effective system for following up on audit results will strengthen supervision and minimize opportunities for corruption.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the effect of managerial ability on competitive advantage through innovation among MSMEs in the craft sub-sector of Bandar Lampung City. Methodology/approach: The study employed a quantitative approach using the survey method. The population of this research consisted of all 62 MSMEs in the craft sub-sector in Bandar Lampung City, while a sample of 60 MSMEs was selected through random sampling. Data were collected from the owners and managers of these MSMEs. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS version 3.2.9 to examine the relationships between variables, both directly and through the mediating effect of innovation. Results/findings: The study shows that managerial skills have a direct positive and significant influence on competitive advantage. Furthermore, managerial skills also have a positive influence on innovation, and innovation acts as a partial mediator that strengthens the influence of managerial skills on competitive advantage. These findings emphasize the importance of effective and innovative managerial development in enhancing the competitiveness of MSMEs. Conclusion: Managerial capability is a strategic resource that plays a direct and indirect role through innovation in creating competitive advantage. Integrating managerial management and innovation is a key strategy for MSMEs to maintain and enhance competitiveness in the market. Limitations: This study focused exclusively on MSMEs in the craft sub-sector of Bandar Lampung City; therefore, the findings may not be generalizable to other MSME sectors or regions. Furthermore, the variables examined were limited to managerial ability, innovation, and competitive advantages. Contribution: This study reinforces the Resource-Based View and Dynamic Capabilities theories in linking managerial ability, innovation, and competitive advantage, providing practical insights for MSME managers to strengthen managerial competence and foster innovation for enhanced organizational competitiveness.

Abstract

The rapid growth of online commerce has transformed consumer behavior, particularly in the electronic products sector, where purchase decisions are influenced by digital interactions, social engagement, and perceived brand reliability. This study investigates the influence of Digital Customer Experience (DCX), Social Media Engagement (SME), and Brand Trust (BT) on Online Purchase Intention (OPI) of electronic products, focusing on Brands X, Y, and Z. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 300 online consumers through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results indicate that all three factors have a significant positive impact on OPI, with Brand Trust exhibiting the strongest influence, followed by Digital Customer Experience and Social Media Engagement. These findings suggest that electronic brands can enhance online purchase intention by providing seamless digital experiences, fostering meaningful engagement on social media, and establishing robust trust mechanisms. The study contributes to the theoretical understanding of online consumer behavior and offers practical implications for developing effective digital marketing strategies in competitive electronic markets.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines how land is designated as no-parking zones and the efforts to suppress illegal parking in Lampung Province. Research Methodology: The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Results: Findings show ten areas where parking is prohibited: on bends, shoulders, or bridges; pedestrian or bicycle tracks; near traffic lights; main roads; in front of or close to stopped vehicles; within 6 m of intersections; within 9 m of bus stops (unless damaged); within 3 m of fire hydrants or areas hindering fire-fighting access; along slippery roads; on overpasses, tunnels, or their approaches; and on grass verges or shoulders. To address illegal parking, the Lampung Province Transportation Agency has taken several measures: mapping parking zones, improving management to support traffic flow and local revenue (PAD), fostering community and government awareness, providing guidance to ensure proper management, and enforcing sanctions. However, emphasis is placed more on education and guidance than punishment. Conclusions: Effective parking management, supported by public awareness, government intervention, and structured regulations, is essential for traffic safety and efficiency. Limitations: The study is limited to Lampung Province and uses descriptive data, restricting broader generalization. Contribution: This research offers practical insights for regional governments to improve traffic order through structured parking management and emphasizes the role of education and community awareness in reducing illegal parking.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze human resource management in the Samapta function of the South Lampung Police in realizing a safe and controlled public security and order situation. The focus of the study is directed at the efforts of Samapta human resource management in suppressing minor crimes that have the potential to develop into larger crimes, such as the distribution of alcoholic beverages, motorcycle gang activities, disturbances due to single organ entertainment, and the presence of dimly lit cafes in the South Lampung Regency area. The research method used was a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation of informants directly related to the Samapta function of the South Lampung Police. Data analysis was carried out interactively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, with the aim of obtaining a comprehensive picture of the implementation of human resource management in the Samapta function. The results of the study indicate that human resource management in the Samapta function of the South Lampung Police has not been running optimally. This is evident from the limited number and quality of personnel, the uneven distribution of training and development of member capabilities, and limited supporting facilities and infrastructure. Nevertheless, strategic efforts have been made, such as increasing dialogic patrols, rapid responses to public order disturbances, and community involvement in maintaining environmental security. The implementation of human resource development through training, task arrangement, and strengthening coordination has been proven to contribute to increasing the effectiveness of Samapta's function in maintaining a conducive security situation. The conclusion of this study confirms that planned, sustainable, and field-based human resource management is a key factor in optimizing the function of Samapta. Therefore, it is recommended that the South Lampung Police improve the quality and quantity of Samapta personnel, strengthen training and competency development programs, and optimize the use of technology and supporting facilities to prevent and mitigate security disturbances more effectively
