Abstract

Social services are the duties and responsibilities of a country for existing social welfare problems. Social Welfare Requirements (PPKS) who are individuals, families, groups and/or communities who, due to an obstacle, difficulty or disturbance, are unable to carry out their social functions, so they need social services to meet their needs both physically and spiritually as well as socially adequately and It is natural to have different root causes and problem solving according to the type. The process of re-functionalization and development to enable a person to be able to carry out his social function properly in the life of the community then requires accelerated steps to achieve social rehabilitation itself. Program methods that are adaptive, responsive, structured and systematic will always respond to developments and adjustments to social welfare issues themselves. The Provincial Social Service as the task-bearer to assist the Governor in carrying out government affairs in the social sector and assistance tasks assigned to the Regions are always expected to be able to present an influential and quality accelerated acceleration of social services.

Abstract

The family is the source of education that children receive for the first time. The family is the nuclear family consisting of mother, father and children. As soon as a child is born, the first person he is close to and what he knows is family. But not all children are lucky, can live and live in their families. One place that accommodates these less fortunate children is an orphanage. In the orphanage there will be many children who live together who are cared for by the caretaker of the orphanage. Because the number of children is not proportional to the number of administrators in the orphanage, it causes a lack of attention received by children, especially in terms of helping the teaching and learning process. The children at the orphanage are still lacking in learning, but they have the enthusiasm to learn. It's just that there are several factors that become inhibiting factors in gaining knowledge. Therefore it really needs help and the role of various parties to help the process of forming children's character, one of which is in terms of education. The target to be achieved is to improve the English skills of the children in the orphanage by selecting 6 children in the orphanage and this activity uses the casework method by Zastrow and at the assessment stage uses the Focus Group Discussion technique. The results obtained from this activity were progress in terms of English which was felt by each child and their report card scores were better than before.

Abstract

This paper aims to Strengthen the Character of adolescents through Assertive Training Techniques on assertive behavior owned by orphanage youth who are unable to express their emotions and opinions through Field Work Practices (PKL). The purpose of this street vendor is to carry out a Mini Project by applying the casework method in solving client problems. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Based on the results of observations made on one of the orphanages who were used as clients, it can be seen that the client has difficulty expressing his emotions and opinions, the child cannot refuse his friend's invitation to do negative things because he is afraid of what his friends will think. Based on this, it was identified that the client had problems with controlling emotions (aggressive) and found it difficult to express or convey his thoughts (non-assertive). Through the Assertive Training Technique as a character strengthening method which was carried out several times during the street vendors, there was quite good progress, namely, the client began to be able to apply assertive behavior in everyday life and as a result he became more confident in expressing his feelings and not easily influenced by the environment and his friends.

Abstract

Childhood is an important period in human life. Because it is during this period that children have strong memories so that they can easily learn and develop from what children see and hear. From an early age, children should be equipped with basic learning so that when they are anywhere, children already have the basic key of knowledge, especially in terms of communicating. Communication is the process of conveying messages from one person to another or to other groups. Good communication is used in the correct, good and appropriate language. Someone who is good at communicating will be easily placed anywhere and won’t get difficulties because they already have mastered the language and how to communicate well. In this discussion, the main subject is the children of overseas countries. As a nomad, the basic key that must be grasped is about language. The more precise language is English because English is a universal language which is used in every country as a communication guide. In fact, there are still many children who haven’t mastered English well so they often get difficulty communicating. The basic problem is due to a lack of knowledge of vocabulary and listening skills. This is causes the child can’t be respond quickly to what the other person is saying, and cannot answer because of the lack of vocabulary. So to facilitate and help children, basic Vocabulary and Listening training activities are carried out. This learning and training is aimed at and carried out for several children of Indonesian citizens whose are in the Philippines. Most of them are forced to be taken overseas by their parents to work because of the lack of income in Indonesia so that they cannot reach their home needs. The purpose of this training would be help the children communicate with the local citizens.

Abstract

The nuclear family is a family consisting of father, mother and children. The family is a place for children to interact in learning values through family behavior patterns and connecting children with the environment outside the home. Children are a gift from God that must be looked after, cared for, and fulfilled their needs as they should. However, not all children feel the same way that they should. For this reason, the orphanage exists as a place to accommodate children who do not feel that way. An orphanage or child social welfare institution (LKSA) according to the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs, is a child social welfare business institution that has the responsibility to provide social welfare services to neglected children by carrying out sponsorship and alleviation of abandoned children. Children may be considered as someone who easily forgets what they feel. However, children can also be figures who remember something that happened to them and cause resentment to arise. Therefore the handling of problems carried out against children must be carried out as they should.

The outbreak of COVID-19 cases in all corners of the world has affected all sectors in human life, affecting the economic, educational, social and cultural sectors. However, the biggest impact of the COVID-19 outbreak is the economic sector, due to restrictions on human movement in order to break the chain of COVID-19, especially the informal sector economy, namely freelance daily laborers who work in shrimp skin stripping businesses. The purpose of this study is to describe the survival strategy of shrimp shell peeling workers in Tangkahan Village. The results of research and observations on research subjects found the fact that: (1) The Covid-19 pandemic caused an impact on workers due to the ban on export-import of goods from within and outside the country.
