Abstract

This study examines respondent and university type responses to science process skills instruments integrated with automated feedback on science practicum performance assessments at 2 state college and 2 private college in West Nusa Tenggara Province. A Kruskal-Wallis test was performed utilizing case study and cluster random sampling. Data was collected using online survey, interviews, and direct observations. Three hundred seventy-six university students and teachers from four universities were studied. Since there was no standard instrument, science process skills performance was not assessed. The assessment results show no statistically significant difference (p > 0.05) between state and private college in measuring science process skills integrated with real-time feedback on science practicum. This suggests that neither university has conducted such an assessment. No significant difference in responses between university students and lecturers regarding the measurement of science process skills on performance assessments integrated with real-time feedback in science practicum (p > 0.05), implying that university students and lecturers have the same experience. This study advises developing science process skills measurement on performance assessment for real-time science practicum feedback.

Abstract

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a non-progressive motor disorder caused by prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal factors, leading to movement and posture abnormalities. In Indonesia, around 0.60% of the total child population has CP (9 cases per 1000 live births). Speech and swallowing difficulties are common, affecting children’s nutritional status and development. Speech and oral motor therapy are effective in improving speaking and oromotor dysfunction. To determine the effectiveness of oromotor and speech therapy in improving swallowing, chewing, and speech abilities in children with CP. A case study was conducted at the "Lombok Care" Children with Disabilities Foundation. Language development was assessed with the Messay Language Test, and oromotor dysfunction was evaluated using Debra C. Gangale’s method. Pre and post-therapy assessments were performed to assess changes in motor and speech functions. The evaluation of 5 respondents showed an increase in speaking skills after speech therapy and swallowing skills after oromotor therapy. Both are shown to be effective in improving communication skills and oropharyngeal muscle coordination, as well as reducing the risk of aspiration. Speech and oral motor therapy are essential and effective in improving eating, swallowing, and speaking abilities in children with CP, and are an important part of holistic medical rehabilitation.

Abstract

Thermodynamics as a science studie something concrete and can be proven mathematically using scientific equations that have been proven to be true, so it is not uncommon for students to think that it is difficult to understand. This is because a high level of understanding is needed to understand the concepts of thermodynamics. The aim of this research is to develop a thermodynamics textbook assisted by Heyzine flipbook which is effective in improving students’ generic science, critical thinking and conceptual understanding. This research is a development researchs (Research and Development) which uses the Thiagarajan 4D development model. The subjects in this study were 26 students of the Physics Education study program at Mataram University who took the thermodynamics course. The data in this study is in the form of product effectiveness data obtained through pre-tests and post-tests given to research subjects. The improvement in students' abilities calculated using the n-gain formula. There was an increase in student abilities after being taught with the thermodynamics textbook assisted by Heyzine flipbook according to the n-gain value of 53.31 with moderate criteria. Heyzine flipbook-assisted thermodynamics textbook is proven effective in improving students' generic science, critical thinking and conceptual understanding.

Abstract

The problem-based learning (PBL) model is a form of learning that emphasizes the learning process and developing problem-solving skills. The low level of environmental awareness is increasingly worrying. Ecological awareness, in this case ecotourism, is decreasing along with technological developments. For this reason, scientific literacy and environmental awareness are needed, especially in character formation. This article research conducted a systematic literature review using PRISMA approach, namely carrying out a synthesis of studies from articles on the theme of the ecotourism-integrated problem-based learning (PBL) model to increase scientific literacy and environmental awareness. The articles used in this paper are from Google Scholar, scopus and science direct with the application of proportional sampling techniques, 15 of the 72 articles that meet the inclusion criteria, the year of publication between 2020 until 2024, the languages used are Indonesian and English, the research subject is Problem-Based Learning (PBL). The research results show that PBL has positive potential in increasing scientific literacy and environmental awareness. Both the use of the PBL model directly and with integration show an increase in scientific literacy and concern for the environment

Abstract

Creativity is a crucial aspect of physics learning that is often overlooked due to the dominance of conventional learning methods. This study aims to analyze the influence of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model with a multimodal approach on the creativity of grade XI students at MA Nurul Iman. This research is a quasi-experiment using a non-equivalent control group design. The research instrument consisted of a creativity test in the form of four complex essay items that were declared valid (rxy>0,443) and reliable (r11>0.443). The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class (78) was higher than the control class (65.05). The Independent Sample T-test results obtained a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.002 < 0.05, so Ha was accepted. It can be concluded that the implementation of the Jigsaw model with a multimodal approach has a significant effect on students' creativity. The synergy between individual responsibility in groups and the diversity of representation modes effectively stimulates indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration.

Abstract

Chemistry learning requires students not only to understand abstract concepts but also to engage in scientific activities that form the foundation of science process skills; therefore, instructional innovations that support concept visualization and foster inquiry are essential. In this context, the present study aims to analyze research trends on the use of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) chemistry comic media to enhance students’ science process skills during the period 2016–2025. This study employed a descriptive–analytical method using a bibliometric approach by examining 1,000 Google Scholar–indexed documents with the assistance of Publish or Perish and Dimensions AI to identify publication patterns, dominant keywords, and the most influential journal sources. The findings indicate a significant increase in publications since 2022, with both print and digital comics emerging as effective media for visualizing chemical concepts and supporting scientific work within PjBL. These findings align with Bruner’s constructivism and Paivio’s Dual Coding Theory, which emphasize the importance of visual representation and authentic learning experiences. The study concludes that integrating chemistry comics with PjBL has strong theoretical and empirical legitimacy as an approach capable of strengthening students’ science process skills. Practically, the results suggest the need for more systematic implementation of comics and PjBL in science curricula to support creative, contextual, and scientifically literate learning
