Abstract

Students often experience academic stres due to various demands of college, such as numerous assignments, pressure to achieve high grades, and tight deadlines for tasks. These conditions make it necessary for students to use coping strategies that can address the academic stres they experience. The aim of the research is to identify the more dominant and effective coping strategies used by students in dealing with academic stres. The research uses a non-experimental quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The research population consists of active 8th-semester students from the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Universitas PGRI Semarang, totaling 115 students, with a research sample of 89 students. Data analysis used multiple linear regression. The research results show that the majority of students experience moderate levels of stres. The dominant coping strategy used by students is emotion-focused coping at 97.8%. The results of the regression test show that emotion-focused coping has a significant impact. Thus, emotion-focused coping becomes the more dominant and effective coping strategy used in dealing with students' academic stres.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of self-control on online gaming addiction behavior among high school students. The study employs a quantitative approach with a causal-associative design, utilizing a survey method and simple linear regression analysis. The sample consisted of 95 eleventh-grade students selected using a proportionate stratified random sampling technique from a population of 125 students. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire measuring the variables of self-control and online gaming addiction and were analyzed using SPSS. The results indicate a fairly strong relationship between self-control and online gaming addiction, with a correlation coefficient of 0.583 and a contribution of 34%. The resulting regression model was significant. The findings indicate that self-control has a positive and significant influence on online game addiction, suggesting that the higher the self-control, the higher the tendency toward online game addiction among the respondents. These results suggest that the relationship between self-control and online gaming addiction is not always negative but can be influenced by contextual factors such as gaming motivation and individual behavioral management patterns. This study implies that proper management of gaming behavior, as well as the development of self-regulation skills and digital literacy, need to be strengthened to minimize the negative impacts of online gaming addiction.

Abstract

Academic procrastination often becomes an obstacle that affects student achievement. This study aims to examine the effect of time management on academic procrastination among 11th-grade students at SMA Negeri 3 Demak. Using quantitative regression analysis within a correlational design, this study included all 11th-grade students from 12 classes (n=428) via total sampling. The results showed a strong negative correlation (r = -0.704, p < 0.001), with the regression equation Y = 103.887 – 0.911X indicating that each one-point increase in time management reduces procrastination by 0.911 points. Time management explains 49.6% of the variance in procrastination (R² = 0.496). In practice, these findings highlight the importance of equipping students with structured time management skills, which can improve learning outcomes, reduce stress, and prepare them to meet the increasing academic demands at higher levels of education. Given the urgency of academic procrastination as a widespread problem affecting students globally, this study emphasizes the need for schools to implement prevention strategies through guidance and counseling services. Abstract

This study aims to map and analyze the scientific landscape of online gender-based violence (OGBV) comprehensively through a bibliometric approach, utilizing the Scopus database and the VOSviewer visualization tool. The goal is to identify trends in topic evolution, key research focus clusters, and prospective research gaps. This method quantifies and visualizes the research structure of OGBV from 2016 to 2025. The results of the Co-Keyword analysis show that the scientific literature is very focused on two main concepts: "cyber violence" and "cyber-bullying". Research has shifted from an initial focus on adolescent cyber-bullying to more gender-specific contemporary and social issues, such as "hate speech" and "online harassment" on "social media". The cluster analysis grouped the research into three main areas: 1) Studies on Victims and Their Impacts (focusing on psychology and quantitative methodologies), 2) Digital Contexts and Forms of Violence (focusing on social media and specific violence), and 3) Gender-Based Violence Relationships and Aspects (focusing on perpetrators, prevention, and online-offline relationships). The main research gap identified in the prevention area, where the term density remains low, underscores the urgency of developing effective interventions and strategies for OGBV. Keywords: bibliometrics, online gender-based violence, vosviewer, cyber violence

Abstract

Teachers in Palu, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, face complex professional pressures, including post-disaster recovery and a rapid transition to digital administration. This study aims to uncover the mechanisms linking mindfulness and mental health among secondary school teachers in Palu by exploring the mediating role of acceptance and the moderating role of age. A mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory design was employed. The quantitative phase involved 66 junior and senior high school teachers selected through purposive sampling. The participants completed two instruments: the Dispositional Mindfulness at Work Scale and the Mental Health Inventory. Data were analyzed using linear regression and the PROCESS Macro for mediation and moderation testing, followed by thematic analysis in the qualitative phase to deepen the findings from the in-depth interviews with selected participants. The results indicated that correlation and simple regression analyses confirmed that dispositional mindfulness was a significant predictor of mental health, explaining 21% of its variance (B = 0.390, p < .001). Further analysis revealed a full mediation effect of the acceptance component, indicating that dispositional mindfulness requires an accepting attitude to effectively enhance teacher mental health. Additionally, age was a significant moderator (B = -0.048, p = .003), with the protective impact of dispositional mindfulness being notably greater for early-career teachers. Qualitatively, these mechanisms were found to be harmoniously integrated with the local wisdom of Nosarara Nosabatutu. Dispositional mindfulness emerged as the primary psychological resource supporting teacher resilience in a post-disaster, high-digital-demand environment. These findings provide an empirical basis for prioritizing mindfulness-based psychoeducation and interventions in guidance and counseling services.

Abstract

Cyber grooming has become a growing digital threat to adolescents, requiring school counselors to possess adequate knowledge and intervention skills. However, many guidance and counseling teachers still have limited understanding of cyber grooming characteristics, perpetrators’ strategies, and victim handling procedures. This community service program aimed to improve the competence of school counselors through training based on the Detection, Intervention, and Education (DIE) Model. The participants were 27 guidance and counseling teachers from SMP, MTs, SMA, SMK, and MA schools who are members of MGBK and PD ABKIN Banjarnegara. The program was implemented using a Participatory Technological Learning approach consisting of workshops, mentoring, and evaluation activities. Program effectiveness was measured through pre-test and post-test assessments and analyzed using paired-sample t-tests. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ overall understanding of cyber grooming (t = 5.831, p < .001). Significant increases were also found in understanding social media grooming, recognizing grooming tactics on popular digital platforms, and applying crisis counseling techniques for victims. These findings indicate that the training effectively enhanced counselors’ readiness to identify, prevent, and respond to cyber grooming cases in schools. The program also supported the development of digital student protection initiatives through the preparation of early detection tools and school-based protection procedures.

Abstract

The rapid rise of digital technology, particularly social media, has fundamentally reshaped the moral landscape of elementary school students. This study synthesizes existing research to unpack both the positive and negative sides of social media usage on young learners' moral development, viewed through established psychological lenses. Using a research synthesis approach, we analyzed 10 selected scientific articles published between 2021 and 2025. The findings reveal a double-edged sword: on the flip side, unmonitored screen time on platforms like TikTok and Instagram triggers behavioral issues, such as a decline in politeness, poor online etiquette, and a tendency to mimic negative trends. On the bright side, when parents and teachers step in to guide them, social media can actually boost learning motivation, sharpen self-regulation, and help children internalize positive moral and spiritual values. Ultimately, because children at this age are highly impressionable, equipping them with digital literacy and embedding character education into school culture are absolutely critical to steering their digital habits in a positive direction.
