Abstract

Penelitian ini mengimplementasikan pendekatan Project-Based Learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kerja sama siswa kelas 6 SDN Rabakodo. Kemampuan kerja sama sangat penting di sekolah dasar karena mendukung keberhasilan belajar dan interaksi sosial. Metode kualitatif digunakan dengan melibatkan 20 siswa dari berbagai latar belakang. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi aktivitas selama proses pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Analisis data deskriptif mengungkap perubahan dalam aspek komunikasi, koordinasi, pembagian tugas, dan penyelesaian masalah dalam kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Project-Based Learning secara signifikan meningkatkan interaksi positif antar siswa, memperkuat sikap saling menghargai, dan meningkatkan kemampuan bekerja sama untuk mencapai tujuan bersama. Kesimpulan ini menyimpulkan bahwa Project-Based Learning efektif untuk mengembangkan kerja sama siswa sekaligus memberikan kontribusi pada pengembangan model pembelajaran yang lebih kolaboratif dan aplikatif di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect on the systematic reasoning capacity of elementary mathematics students of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. The study consisted in a quasi-experimental design with an experimental group applying PjBL and a control group using conventional methods. Purposive sampling enabled participants to be chosen from several elementary schools. The Minimum Competency Assessment guided the method of data collecting by means of a systematic thinking skills test. The test consisted in essay questions covering students's capacity to identify patterns, develop plans, investigate conceptual links, and evaluate approaches of problem-solving. An observation notebook was also used to document student participation and activity all through the learning process. Among other statistical tests, paired and independent t-tests let one compare the pretest and posttest scores. From the data, higher posttest scores and statistically significant deviations exposed that students in the PjBL group showed a rather better improvement in systematic thinking than the control group. Additionally, the observation data demonstrated that PjBL students utilized analytical and reflective thought during the project operations, actively participated in peer-based conversations, and increased their participation. Through their connection between mathematical ideas and practical problems, these learning opportunities helped students to develop their structured thinking and evaluation skills. By providing contextual, meaningful, and cooperative learning, the results imply that PjBL is efficient in the evolution of higher-order thinking. In order to improve students' systematic thinking a ability necessary for both academic success and practical problem-solving teachers are therefore advised to include PjBL into mathematics education. Keywords: project-based learning, systematic thinking, mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to test the influence of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by traditional congklak games on the mathematics learning outcomes of grade II elementary school students. The background of this research departs from the low ability of students to solve addition and subtraction problems independently, which is caused by a learning approach that is still expository and does not actively involve students. Using a one group pretest-posttest design, this study involved 26 students at SDN 2 Bolo. The results showed an increase in the average score of students from 53.46 in the pretest to 85.38 in the posttest. With a mean average difference of 31.92 points. The t-test showed significant results (p < 0.000), which showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores that the coneckle-assisted PBL model was effective in improving students' mathematics learning outcomes. The integration between PBL and congklak games not only strengthens the understanding of mathematical concepts, but also encourages active participation, logical thinking, and motivation for students to learn in a fun and contextual way.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kolaboratif menjadi kompetensi penting dalam menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21. Data dari berbagai institusi pendidikan menunjukkan bahwa banyak siswa belum mencapai tingkat berpikir kritis yang memadai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran model Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kolaboratif melalui pendekatan kajian literatur. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur sistematis terhadap 33 artikel yang relevan dan terbit antara tahun 2016 hingga 2024. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa CBL mendorong keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah nyata, sehingga menstimulasi berpikir reflektif, analitis, dan logis. Di sisi lain, model ini juga memperkuat kemampuan kolaboratif melalui kerja tim, diskusi, dan pengambilan keputusan bersama. Dengan demikian, CBL terbukti efektif sebagai pendekatan pembelajaran inovatif yang dapat menjawab tantangan pendidikan modern. Integrasi model CBL sangat disarankan untuk mendukung pengembangan kompetensi kritis dan kolaboratif siswa.

Abstract

Critical thinking and numeracy skills are important competencies for students facing challenges of the 21st century and era of industrial revolution 5.0. In mathematics learning, especially geometry, using Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions is a strategic approach to developing these abilities. This study analyzes students' critical thinking and numeracy skills through HOTS geometry questions, reviewed by learning styles and gender. The research uses a quantitative descriptive method with a purposive sample of 26 VIII-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Kota Bima. Results indicate that male students with visual learning styles achieved the highest scores in both skills. Visual learning styles were more effective in supporting numeracy skills, whereas auditory and kinesthetic styles supported critical thinking more effectively. ANOVA tests revealed significant differences in numeracy skills on the "making decisions" indicator by learning style (Sig. 0.047) and gender (Sig. 0.0291), and in critical thinking skills on the "inference" indicator by gender (Sig. 0.0265). In conclusion, learning styles and gender influence critical thinking and numeracy, with learning style having the more pronounced effect. Future research is needed to train students in answering HOTS questions to enhance both skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis bentuk-bentuk kesulitan kognitif yang dialami siswa kelas rendah sekolah dasar dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam memahami, merencanakan, dan menyelesaikan soal berbasis konteks naratif, yang sering kali tidak tercermin dari kemampuan berhitung semata. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan desain studi kasus, melibatkan 25 siswa kelas III di salah satu sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Bima. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi tes soal cerita, wawancara terstruktur, dan observasi langsung, yang kemudian dianalisis secara tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan utama siswa terletak pada ketidakmampuan memahami teks soal (72%), salah dalam menentukan operasi matematika (80%), dan lemahnya kemampuan membangun representasi masalah (64%). Temuan juga mengungkap bahwa siswa dengan kemampuan numerik tinggi tetap mengalami kegagalan karena tidak mampu memproses struktur cerita secara logis. Analisis berdasarkan tahapan Polya menunjukkan bahwa 84% siswa mengalami kesulitan pada tahap memahami masalah. Hasil ini diperkuat oleh wawancara guru dan observasi kelas, yang mengindikasikan dominasi pendekatan pembelajaran prosedural dan minimnya penggunaan strategi kontekstual. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya penguatan pemahaman konseptual dan representasi masalah dalam pembelajaran matematika, khususnya pada soal cerita, melalui pendekatan visual, kontekstual, dan reflektif.
