Abstract

This study aims to compare the performance of two injection molding designs—Design A and Design B—for producing plastic hardness test specimens. Design A showed a fill time of 1.03 s and cooling quality covering 84.2% of the part, compared to 1.06 s and 72.4% for Design B. Design B, however, exhibited deflection of 0.96 mm versus 1.15 mm for Design A, and a maximum sink mark depth of 0.5687 mm versus 0.5773 mm. These characteristics in Design B support dimensional stability and limit visible defects, making it suitable for fabrication. Optimization strategies, such as adjustments to packing pressure, gate location, and the cooling system, are proposed to improve Design B's performance in terms of production efficiency and quality. The results indicate that, despite advantages in Design A, Design B offers a viable option for large-scale injection molding, balancing quality and operational efficiency.

Abstract

Bird Strike merupakan salah satu ncaman yang sangat signifikan dalam operasional pesawat terbang, terutama pada fase take-off dan landing. Airbus A320, sebagai pesawat komersial yang banyak digunakan di dunia, tidak luput dari risiko ini. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efek bird strike terhadap engine Airbus A320 serta strategi dan prosedur recovery yang dilakukan oleh insinyur pesawat udara. Metode penelitian ini adalah studi kasus dan analisis literatur. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa bird strike dapat menyebabkan kerusakan pada komponen Engine, seperti fan blades, compressor stages, dan bahkan menyebabkan flameout. Insinyur pesawat melakukan recovery melalui inspeksi after bird strike dan mengikuti step yang ada pada Aircraft Maintenance Manul, Inspeksi menggunakan Boroscope, pergantian komponen, dan juga operasional test sesuai dengan manual dan regulasi otoritas penerbangan.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan secara eksplisit untuk meningkatkan kapasitas guru-guru di Yayasan Uswatun Hasanah Kota Lubuklinggau dalam menyusun soal literasi Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum (AKM) berbasis kearifan lokal dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi digital. Fokus kegiatan diarahkan pada pengembangan kompetensi guru dalam mengintegrasikan konteks budaya lokal ke dalam soal literasi, guna menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang relevan dan bermakna bagi siswa. Kegiatan ini menghasilkan produk konkret berupa bank soal digital berbasis kearifan lokal, yang dirancang menggunakan platform digital interaktif agar dapat digunakan secara berkelanjutan dalam proses pembelajaran dan asesmen di sekolah mitra. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup pelatihan, pendampingan teknis, praktik penyusunan soal, serta uji coba implementasi soal dalam lingkungan belajar terbatas. Proses evaluasi dilakukan secara menyeluruh melalui instrumen pre-test dan post-test untuk menilai peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru, disertai lembar observasi, angket kepuasan, dan dokumentasi portofolio produk. Evaluasi juga mencakup refleksi partisipatif antara fasilitator dan peserta, guna mengidentifikasi keberhasilan maupun tantangan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta terhadap konsep AKM, kemampuan menyusun soal berbasis kearifan lokal, serta keterampilan penggunaan aplikasi digital dalam pendidikan. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas asesmen di tingkat sekolah mitra, tetapi juga membuka peluang replikasi di lembaga pendidikan lain. Ke depan, program ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model praktik baik dalam integrasi teknologi dan nilai budaya lokal untuk penguatan literasi siswa serta pengembangan profesionalisme guru di era Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) in supporting financial inclusion and community economic empowerment, especially for the poor and micro-entrepreneurs in Indonesia. Using a normative juridical approach, this research analyzes the regulations and operations of MFIs based on Law No. 1 Year 2013 on MFIs as well as secondary data from literature and interviews with relevant practitioners. The research was conducted for three months, from June to August 2024, focusing on MFI regulations, operations, and challenges in Indonesia. Data were collected through literature study, legal document analysis, and in-depth interviews with 20 respondents located in the West Jakarta area, including MFI managers, micro business actors, and academics. The results show that MFIs play an important role in providing microfinance, savings, and business advisory services that support economic empowerment and community welfare improvement. However, regulation implementation still faces challenges, including policy harmonization between central and local governments, limited capital, and low financial literacy of customers. In addition, competition with modern financial institutions is also an obstacle to the sustainability of MFIs. This study recommends strengthening regulations, harmonizing policies, and increasing the operational capacity of MFIs through technical support, training, and capital incentives. Financial literacy also needs to be improved so that people can optimally utilize microfinance services. Thus, MFIs can be a more effective instrument in supporting sustainable economic development and financial inclusion in Indonesia.

Abstract

Overhaul is a method of engine maintenance where the engine is dismantled and all components are checked and replaced if there is damage. In carrying out overhaul activities, engine trainer  tools are needed, therefore the operator can reach the components in the pinch point. Engine trainers on the market are usually only specific to one engine. However, in this study, a universal engine trainer was designed with various adapter arms that can rotate on one axis. This engine trainer is equipped with a buffer that is useful for reducing vibration when the engine is started. The design of the engine trainer frame was tested for strength using a static load simulation with an engine load of 400 N. The simulation showed that the frame deflection due to the load was 0.7781 mm. This value can be said to be safe from a static load test.

Abstract

This study aims to test the performance of the Batam Marine Ambulance model as a medical and logistics support fleet using the comparison ship method. A series of stability and motion analysis processes were carried out, then the results were assessed to determine the best design among the proposed design options. Performance tests used three ship models (Model I, Model II, and Model III). It is known that in the stability test, the tilt angle of model III is 33.63° and the maximum GZ value is 4.673 cm. Then, in the resistance test, Model I has a lower resistance of 87.29 N and the required power is 1496.93 W compared to the other proposed models. In the seakeeping test, Model III was found to be more stable or less affected on all surface conditions because the RAO value was relatively lower, namely 90o in terms of heaving, rolling, and pitching at 135o and 180o then had lower additional resistance. The Model III design has good ship stability, drag, and seakeeping characteristics.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Tingkat Respon Mahasiswa Penjas Terhadap Pemberian Tugas Perkuliahan Pada Program Studi Penjas FKIP UIR. Adapun jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi pada penelitian ini ada Mahasiswa Penjas Terhadap Pemberian Tugas Perkuliahan Pada Program Studi Penjas FKIP UIR yang berjumlah 34 orang, teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah total sampling sehingga sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 34 orang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah pengisian angket. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian maka diperoleh kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini yaitu: Tingkat Respon Mahasiswa Penjas Terhadap Pemberian Tugas Perkuliahan Pada Program Studi Penjas FKIP UIR termasuk pada rentang nilai 81-100% atau dalam kategori sangat kuat dengan persentase sebesar 94.70%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) dalam mendukung profesionalisme pengelolaan limbah Bahan Berbahaya dan Beracun (B3) di PT United Sindo Perkasa. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perusahaan telah menerapkan prinsip-prinsip K3 secara sistematis melalui penyediaan alat pelindung diri, pelatihan berkala, penerapan prosedur operasi standar (SOP), serta pengawasan dan evaluasi yang berkelanjutan. Penerapan K3 tidak hanya berperan dalam mencegah kecelakaan kerja dan dampak lingkungan, tetapi juga mencerminkan sikap profesionalisme dalam profesi keinsinyuran, seperti integritas, tanggung jawab sosial, dan kepatuhan terhadap regulasi teknis dan etika. Sikap profesional ini terlihat dari peran aktif para tenaga teknis dan insinyur dalam menjamin bahwa pengelolaan limbah B3 dilakukan sesuai standar keselamatan dan peraturan yang berlaku. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan K3 yang baik mendukung terbentuknya budaya kerja yang profesional, aman, dan berkelanjutan dalam pengelolaan limbah B3 di perusahaan.

Abstract

The use of plastic is often found in human life. Therefore, many manufacturing companies are competing to increase the production and quality of their plastic products. One way to increase production is to redesign a Mold base so that the Mold has a larger production capacity than before. The increase in product demand from consumers, which was initially 65,000 pcs/month to 95,000 pcs/month, is also the background for conducting this research. The purpose of this study is to redesign the soft tool using the old Mold base. The design uses Siemens UG NX 5 software. The Mold used is a two-plate Mold. The manufacture of the core cavity uses NAK 80 steel and plastic raw material in the form of Polycarbonate (PC). At the end of the study, a simulation was carried out using the Moldex 3D Flow Mold software to see the cycle time of the old and new Mold injection processes. From the results of this study, production capacity increased from 67,804 pcs/month to 118,536 pcs/month resulting in twice as many products as the old Mold design, with an increase in cycle time of 14.37% longer than the old Mold design also ensuring the quality of the product is maintained.

Abstract

Ultrasonic Non-Destructive Testing (UT) is essential in manufacturing to ensure measurement accuracy by calibrating tools against specified standards. However, UT calibration often faces challenges such as oil spills, usability issues, and lengthy processes. This study addresses these challenges by designing a specialized fixture to streamline the calibration of a 33.8 kg cylindrical UT calibration block. The fixture's design focuses on user requirements, enabling smooth block rotation and effective oil management during calibration. Key design principles were applied, including Degrees of Freedom (DoF) and locating and clamping mechanisms. Finite Element Method (FEM) simulations demonstrated a maximum stress value of 18.495 MPa and a Factor of Safety (FoS) of 22.89, confirming the fixture’s structural reliability. The proposed fixture reduced calibration cycle time by 48.7%, significantly enhancing efficiency. In conclusion, the fixture offers a safe, practical, and effective solution to optimize UT equipment calibration.
