Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that has become a global health concern, with Indonesia being the country with the second-highest number of pulmonary TB cases after India. The level of knowledge and preventive behavior regarding TB significantly influences both the spread and the success of TB treatment. This study aims to evaluate the impact of health education based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) on TB prevention knowledge and behavior among patients. The study design utilized a quasi-experimental approach with control and intervention groups, where the intervention was administered through face-to-face education and followed by smart chat support sessions for one month. A total of 50 respondents participated, divided into treatment and control groups. Data analysis employed the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and Mann-Whitney tests. The study results show that the statistical analysis indicated a significant improvement in knowledge and preventive behavior in the intervention group post-intervention (p=0.000), while the control group showed no significant change. The finding of this this improvement suggests that TPB-based interventions, which encompass attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control, are effective in influencing health behavior changes. The conclusion is TPB-based health education through face-to-face sessions and smart chat follow-ups can be recommended as an intervention strategy to enhance TB prevention knowledge and behavior among high-risk populations.

Abstract

Milkfish cultivation with traditional technology in Mertak Village only lasts one cycle per year. The limited cycle of milkfish cultivation causes it to be less desirable, even though the profit level is quite high. For this reason, this study aims to study the key variables of cultivation and estimate the feasibility of the milkfish cultivation business. This research was conducted in Mertak Village, Central Lombok. used in this research is descriptive survey, and data collection using census method. Data analysis uses Regression-Correlation which aims to predict the determination / influence of the independent variable (X) on the dependent variable (Y). The results of the technical evaluation of milkfish cultivation in the village of Mertak amounted to 563 kg/ha/cycle with the size of the milkfish harvesting 8 individuals/kg. In addition, averange body weight (ABW) of 125 grams/individual was obtained, survival rate (SR) reached 53.68%, and FCR 0.23. The results of the business feasibility analysis show the value of the Benefit-Cost Ratio (B/C Ratio) = 2.218, which means that the milkfish cultivation business is feasible to continue because the B/C ratio is >1.0. The milkfish cultivation activities in Mertak Village, Pujut Subdistrict, Central Lombok Regency have followed the rules of good aquaculture practice (GAP). The milkfish farmers consistently run their business to increase pond productivity.

Abstract

Banana tuber flour is a type of non-wheat flour which has a high carbohydrate content so it has the potential to be processed into noodles. However, due to the low protein content and immature physicochemical properties, it is necessary to modify it enzymatically and mix it with wheat flour to obtain good quality noodles. This study aims to obtain enzymatically modified banana tuber flour with suitable characteristics for application in the manufacture of wet noodle products, as well as to obtain a formula (comparison of modified banana tuber flour and wheat flour) which can produce wet noodles that meet the SNI quality requirements. The treatment tested was enzymatically modified banana tuber flour substitution 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 0% were used as control variables. Wet noodle products were tested for water content and noodle organoleptic (smell, color and texture) according to SNI 2987:2015 wet noodle quality requirements. The results showed that the level of wet noodles met SNI standards, namely below 65%. The organoleptic test results showed that the best quality wet noodles were obtained from a combination of 10% modified banana tuber flour and 90% wheat flour with a concentration ratio of -amylase enzyme of 10%. The aroma test obtained a combination of 10% modified banana tuber flour and 90% wheat flour with a concentration ratio of -amylase enzyme of 40%.

Abstract

The interesting finding of this research is the model of teaching Arabic for foreign student developed by   Malik Sauud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In the past, the teaching Arabic for foreign student or non-native in Arab mostly used direct method, while in this research it is found out that there are five important things in teaching Arabic language. The first, the Arabic language teaching   needs specific dormitory for the foreign students so that all of the program can be applied exclusively. Second, the direct method , is still applied completed with communicative approach and various strategies. Third, the use of multi-media is considered important eventough the tutors are native speaker. This also shows that   teacher-centered has shifted into student-centered sothat teachers take role as facilitator. Fourth, the materials presented are suited with Arabic culture and the culture of students’ origin. Fifth, the phase of evaluation is considered most important to measure the success of learning Arabic language. The shift of language learning model  of Arabic language in Arab country as applied in   Malik Sauud University, Riyadh, Arab Saudi can be a new trend in developing Arabic language and culture  teaching learning. Keywords: Ta’liim, Jami’ah Al-Malik Sauud

Abstract

Teachers must carry out Classroom Action Research (CAR) as an effort to solve problems experienced during learning so that effective solutions are obtained. The results of CAR should be published as a form of accountability for research results and as a reference for determining innovative policies in the field of education. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct training for teachers to publish the results of CAR in national journals. This training is carried out online by providing material and also guidance in the preparation of articles resulting from CAR. The training was attended by 30 teachers in Garut district. The result of this training is that teachers are motivated to make CAR and publish the results in national journals. It is hoped that further training can specifically provide guidance on submitting articles to national journals and can be carried out offline.

Abstract

Whereas many studies highlight positive environmental and socio-economic effects of agroforestry systems, the agro-economic effect of Dusun practices as indigenous agroforestry systems has rarely been studied in detail, particularly in small island-Maluku Indonesia. This article examines the agro-economic of tropical perennial and annual fruit crops in the Dusun systems in Ambon city islands. A survey was conducted in three different Dusuns to obtain data through in-depth interviews of 88 heads of households. Our findings indicate that most Dusun farmers are uneducated and old age, half of them have small size of land, and 95% of land status belongs to kinship-clan ownership. Then, half of the farmers have an elementary school education, and 71% have a primary job as farmers, while 29% have a secondary job on the farm and non-farm activities. Amongst 26 crops that are found in three Dusun areas, nine crop types can be found in the whole Dusun, while the rest are located in one or two Dusun only. These crops are grown together and form multiple cropping structures from high stratum like durian and coconut to medium strata such as clove and nutmeg and low strata such as vegetables and tubers. The structures of the crops have an important role in maintaining biodiversity, minimizing soil erosion, water reservoir, and supporting socio-economic of the households. Annual income from rural household was estimated at around US$6487 or US $3.6/capita/day. Income average value was almost two folds of the World Bank poverty line standard. Nearly 80% of the total income are contributed by four main crops, i.e. clove (Eugenia aromaticum), durian (Durio zibethinus Mur), nutmeg (Myristica fragnans), and duku (Lansium domesticum), of which 11% is contributed predominantly by snake fruit (Salacca zallaca var amboniensis Becc), mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L) and langsat (Lansium domesticum).
