Abstract

According to the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, the creative economy is an industry that originates from the use of individual creativity, skills and talents to create prosperity and employment opportunities through the creation and utilization of the individual's creativity and inventiveness. The creative economic activity carried out by a group of volunteers in Nagur Village, Tanjung Beringin District, Serdang Bedagai is making pencil boxes from used bottles. Makerspace activities in the North Sumatra Teaching Movement community activities have a role as an educational space, creation or creativity space, social space and academic introduction to early childhood. As an educational space and a space for creation or creativity, these are activities that almost all volunteer groups do, such as teaching the Koran, teaching elementary school and middle school children what they don't know. And in the creation or creativity space, volunteer groups also carry out activities such as making crafts from used materials. With the existence of a makerspace, those of us who have creative ideas or knowledge that we want to share with the wider community can channel it directly and use a building or place that can be repurposed as a makerspace.

Abstract

In general, one of the final tasks of students who want to earn a bachelor's degree is to compile scientific papers or what is commonly called a thesis. Writing thesis, students are required to have independence in the process through the guidance process carried out by the supervisor. The process of writing a thesis requires adequate information support as a source of writing. The research method used in this research is a qualitative research method to describe the nature of the problem under investigation. Sulistyo-Basuki (2006: 78) describes qualitative research intending to get a complete reflection of things for the thoughts of people being watched. This study resulted in final year students of the faculty of social sciences at the UINSU Library. Based on the results of the discussions that have been carried out, seven information search strategies were found in this study. That is Ellis' information seeking behavior strategy. Abstract

The goal of this study is to identify the information-seeking patterns of students who are working on their final projects. Students in their last year require a lot of reading materials, both printed and unprinted. Additionally, the sources used ought to be reliable and trustworthy. According to the person conducting the information search, which is decided by the information demands of each individual, information seeking behavior is established. Research undertaken through data collecting, scientific writing that results in research items or library data gathering, or research conducted to solve a problem that is mostly based on critical and in-depth studies constitutes the sort of research used in this study. Abstract

A pattern of human behavior in informational situations, including the use and seeking of information, is known as information behavior. The conduct being discussed here is the process through which a person acquires information. According to David Ellis, Eisenberg, and Berkowitz, the research methodology involves literature studies. The Big Six Skills Model is connected to the information search stages Eisenberg and Berkowitz have proposed. Task definition, information search technique, location and access, information utilization, synthesis, and evaluation are the first steps. The information search process can be modeled using the stages listed above. Both the need and our information needs will be met, which will give us a sense of contentment. Abstract

There are numerous communication media that can be utilized to exchange information as a result of the swift growth of technology and communication. Cybermedia, often known as online media, is one of the communication mediums that can be used. Farmers, like everyone else, require information. To get even higher yields, farmers need to know how to make compost, ward against pests, and a host of other things. According to Kuhltau, Ellis, and Wilson, the information seeking theory applied is the information seeking theory. The research methodology used in this study is library research, specifically research carried out through data collection, scientific writings that target research objects, literary data collection, or studies that are carried out to solve problems that are primarily based on a critical and in-depth analysis of the pertinent library materials. Abstract

Introduction This paper discusses people's information seeking behavior. In fact, many university graduates are still facing serious difficulties in the job search process given the increasing unemployment rate.Method of collecting data Purposive sampling was used with 10 respondents. Interviews were used as a data collection technique.Data analysis Miles and Huberman's data analysis was used in this study to reduce, present data and draw conclusions. Results and Discussion Two barriers in seeking information come from psychological factors and interpersonal skills. Fresh graduates with low psychological and interpersonal skills, such as lack of confidence, confusion, low self-esteem, anxiety, lack of communication show ineffective search results. Situations where information sources are easily accessible support faster information retrieval and vice versa. Our informants who live in cities with easy access support the information search process. Conclusion The factors that influence information seeking behavior are psychological situation, demographic situation, interpersonal skills, environment and characteristics of information sources. These five factors influence each other. Keywords: information behavior; information search; publik; job seekers

Abstract

This study aims to examine the behavioral characteristics of information tracing by librarians at the Library of the Panca Budi Development University (UNPAB) Medan. This study uses Lekkie's perspective as one of the theories that addresses the behavioral model of information tracing. Leskie's theory in information tracing focuses on professionals, and librarians are professions in the field of library and information science. The method used is a qualitative method with a technique of taking through structured interviews with UNPAB Librarians and observations of the UNPAB Library. In addition, literature study techniques were used in the process of this study. The result of this study is a librarian in carrying out roles and work duties as a mediator and educator. Librarian as a mediator, meaning Librarian helps users get the information they need. UNPAB librarians assist and direct users regarding the need for references to scientific papers. Librarians as educators, namely librarians provide teaching such as user education which is routinely carried out by UNPAB Librarians. Through the user education program, users are given knowledge about the UNPAB library from its profile to the services available in the UNPAB Library. UNPAB librarians search for information from a variety of sources. For example, to search for secondary sources of information using online catalogs (OPAC) and for scientific reference, they use repositories or in the search for sources of information in the form of scientific reports referring to repositories and databases of scientific journals. Then, the final stage is the result of searching for information. If successful, it will feel satisfaction for the information searcher and vice versa if it is not satisfactory, then carry out the tracing process from the initial stage. Abstract

According to their own needs, various users will search for information in different ways. The pattern of a person in searching for and compiling the information he gets is called his information seeking behavior. There are at least three different perspectives on how people seek knowledge, and Wilson is responsible for all three perspectives. The user's information-seeking behavior has given rise to hypotheses that can be investigated with the help of this image. The purpose of this study is to provide an explanation of how Wilson arrived at his conclusions on the information retrieval model. What is meant by "information seeking behavior" is the act of seeking information with the intention of achieving certain goals as a direct result of pressure to achieve certain goals. In the context of this endeavor, one can only engage with basic information systems (such as newspapers, periodicals, and libraries) or computer-based information systems (Wilson, 2000). Abstract

Information seeking behavior is a specific activity or project that is carried out on an individual basis in order to find information that is required or desired in order to accomplish a certain goal. David Ellis' model of information searching behavior is the one that became the guiding principle in this study. Starting (awalan), Chaining (menghubungkan), Browsing (menelusur), Differentiating (pemilahan), Monitoring (memantau), and Extracting are the steps involved in the process of collecting the information (menggali). The purpose of this study is to comprehend various methods for collecting model ellis information that have been conducted at the Mahasiswa Aktif Organization of the Faculty of Economics and Business Islam at UINSU Medan in order to satisfy the need for this information in the course of instruction. The method that was used in this study was using a kualitatif method with case study alignment. The results show that some students come from internal campus organizations as many as 13 students (61.90%), Islamic economics majors have the highest percentage of other majors (61.90%), some students first conceptualize the information they want to trace (66.7%) , some students did information searches before looking at their bibliography as a reference source (76.2%), some students use the browsing stage by searching for information other than using google, namely by using print media and social media with the same presentation (38.09%), some students compared asking directly to the experts by looking at the development of information from new journal publications stated that they chose to ask their experts (57.1%), by continuing to search for information that was explored in depth to get information saturation points stated that 16 respondents (76.2%) agreed, re-checking the information that has been traced for medapa provide accurate data according to the needs of the informants (76.2%), closing access to the search when they have found the information they need (47.6%).
