Abstract

Pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika dapat menjadi salah satu pendekatan pembelajaran yang menghubungkan antara budaya dan matematika dengan tujuan untuk mempermudah peserta didik dalam mempelajari materi matematika yang cukup abstrak. Contoh budaya lokal yang dapat diimplementasikan ke dalam pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika adalah kerajinan anyaman bambu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografis. Metode ini digunakan oleh penulis dengan tujuan dapat memahami dan mengkaji budaya, perilaku, dan pengalaman manusia yang berada di lingkungan sekitar sehingga nantinya dapat dihubungkan dengan matematika. Penulis mengumpulkan data dengan teknik wawancara dan kajian literatur. Instrumen berupa wawancara yang dilakukan secara langsung dengan salah satu pengrajin dan mengkaji beberapa artikel dan buku yang sesuai dengan penelitian sebagai bahan kajian literatur untuk mengumpulkan data. Data yang diperoleh selanjutnya direduksi oleh penulis sehingga lebih memudahkan dalam menuliskan pembahasan dan membuat kesimpulan. Motivasi dibalik ini adalah untuk menyelidiki hubungan antara anyaman bambu dan materi matematika. Di dalam kasus geometri, kerajinan tersebut dapat membantu peserta didik dalam memvisualkan bangun geometri karena dapat dilihat secara langsung. Bentuk konkret bangun geometri yang penulis temukan pada bentuk-bentuk kerajinan anyaman bambu, yaitu lingkaran pada cermin rotan, persegi pada tampah, tabung pada keranjang, kubus pada bangku bambu, balok pada tempat tisu, serta bola pada kap lampu. Temuan hasil eksplorasi ini diharapkan dapat mempermudah peserta didik dalam menganalisis sifat-sifat dan unsur-unsur bangun geometri. Selain itu diharapkan dapat membantu untuk lebih mengembangkan hasil belajar peserta didik, dan untuk menjaga budaya sekitar.

Abstract

This meta-analysis study aims to investigate the effectiveness of applying realistic mathematics education (RME) in Indonesia to students' mathematical abilities. This study analyzes 95 effect sizes from 72 studies that have been published in national and international journals or proceedings from 2010 to 2019. Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) software is used to aid analysis. As a result of the study, the overall effect size was 1.104, with a standard error of 0.065 according to the random-effects model. These results indicate that the average person who is ranked 13th in the experimental group is equivalent to those who are ranked 4th in the control group. This research was carried out by considering four characteristics, resulting in significant differences in terms of sample size and duration of treatment. Thus the application of RME in Indonesia is very effective in improving students' mathematical abilities by considering the sample size and duration of treatment.

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter merupakan suatu usaha yang dilakukan untuk membantu manusia agar dapat menerapkan nilai-nilai dan kepedulian terutama dalam etika. Profil pelajar Pancasila merupakan salah satu tujuan dari pemerintah dalam melatih siswa agar mempunyai nilai-nilai dalam etika dan mampu menerapkannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Pembentukan profil pelajar Pancasila tidak lepas dari nilai-nilai dalam pendidikan karakter siswa yang ditanamkan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian yang bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada siswa dan menanamkan konsep karakter profil pelajar Pancasila kepada siswa. Metode yang dilakukan dalam pengabdian berupa ceramah dan praktik penerapan nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam profil pelajar Pancasila kedalam pembelajaran dikelas. Dalam pelaksanaannya, metode dibagi memnjadi tiga tahapan yang terdiri dari tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap evaluasi. Dari kegiatan pengabdian ini, siswa merasa antusias dalam mengikuti pembelajaran yang didalamnya disertakan dengan nilai-nilai profil pelajar Pancasila dan guru mempunyai gambaran dalam penanaman nilai-nilai profil pelajar Pancasila dalam pembelajaran. Faktor pendukung dalam kegiatan ini adalah sarana dan prasarana yang tersedia di sekolah sudah memadai, hampir semua siswa terlibat aktif dalam pembelajaran, dan guru terlibat dalam seluruh rangkaian kegiatan. Faktor penghambatnya yaitu masih terdapat siswa yang kurang terlibat aktif dalam pembelajaran dan kurangnya pemahaman guru dalam penerapan nilai-nilai profil pelajar Pancasila dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Along with the development of the world of science, it is getting faster ICT in education. The objectives to be achieved in this study are to find out how the student's response to the utilization of the Hawgent Dynamic Mathematics application on the material of the curved side of the learning room in the teaching and learning process took place in the classroom. The main object in this study was the 9th-grade junior high school student who was 96 students at Gusui Middle School in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Data collection in this study was a questionnaire containing indicators that have to measure the student's response to the use of learning media using Hawgent Dynamic Mathematics and the primary tool processing research data, namely Ms. Excel and SPSS statistical. The study results were related to the student's response that students agreed, were happy, and were assisted by the Hawgent Dynamic application. The perception or student response results concluded that learning using Hawgent Dynamic software could help in mathematics. It was easier and satisfying for students to understand the material about building a curved side space. However, the use of Hawgent software was only limited to trials, so it was recommended that it be able to use and utilize this software for other discussions on mathematics lessons.

Abstract

Mahasiswa pada umumnya memiliki respons bervariasi terhadap masalah persamaan diferensial (PD) koefisien konstan non homogen. Spektrum respons diperlukan untuk mengetahui level pemahaman mahasiswa pada suatu masalah PD non homogen. Dalam literatur telah dijelaskan bahwa spektrum respon siswa dapat dipahami dengan berbagai cara. Meski demikian, penggunaan Taksonomi SOLO untuk memahami spektrum respon mahasiswa belum banyak dijelajahi. Sebagai upaya mengisi kesenjangan ini maka kami melakukan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini untuk mendeskripsikan spektrum respons mahasiswa terhadap masalah persamaan diferensial (PD) koefisien kontan non homogen berbasis taksonomi SOLO. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika yang memprogramkan mata kuliah persamaan diferensial (PD) tahun akademik 2020/2021. Seluruh subjek penelitian ditetapkan dengan mempertimbangkan kemampuan yang setara pada mata kuliah ini. Masalah PD yang diberikan kepada subyek penelitian tentang PD non homogeny yang diselesaikan menggunakan metode koefisien tak tentu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa spektrum respons mahasiswa terhadap masalah persamaan diferensial (PD) koefisien kontan non homogen berbasis taksonomi SOLO, antara lain: mahasiswa menjelaskan masalah menggunakan kalimat sendiri tanpa mengubah arti, menggunakan beberapa informasi yang didapat melalui pembentuk solusi partikular, kemudian informasi tersebut untuk menyelesaikan masalah, memadukan penggalan-penggalan informasi yang terpisah untuk menghasilkan penyelesaian dari suatu masalah, memecahkan masalah secara bertahap, dan memberikan solusi masalah dengan benar. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa respons mahasiswa  terhadap masalah PD koefisien kontan non homogen berada pada tingkat relational

Abstract

Proses pembelajaran memerlukan kehadiran inovasi pembelajaran yang lebih menyenangkan berupa kreativitas baru didalamnya. Eksplorasi entomatematika pada budaya seni bela diri pencak silat tapak suci ini dapat menjadi salah satu inovasi baru dalam pembelajaran berupa contoh kontekstual yang bersifat matematis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk 1) mengidentifikasi konsep matematika dalam budaya seni bela diri pencak silat tapak suci, dan 2) memahami bagaimana menganalisis bahan ajar yang dikombinasikan dengan budaya seni bela diri pencak silat tapak suci. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah bentuk penelitian etnografi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi analisis domain, analisis taksonomi, analisis komposisi, dan analisis tema budaya. Metode pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi terhadap narasumber yaitu pelatih dan atlet pencak silat pada perguruan pencak silat Tapak Suci di Kabupaten Purworejo. Hasil penelitian ini berupa konsep sudut siku-siku, sudut lancip, sudut tumpul, sudut refleksi, dan juga analisis aktivitas matematika yang terdapat pada gerakan jurus dasar seni bela diri pencak silat tapak suci. Hal tersebut adalah konsep matematis yang terdapat pada pencak silat tapak suci yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam memperkenalkan dan memahami konsep matematika melalui budaya di Indonesia.

Abstract

In the literature, it is confirmed that there is a strong correlation between technological literacy and students' mathematical literacy levels and that technological literacy influences individual mathematical literacy. The integration of digital games can reduce the decline in student interest due to changes in the learning system, which are thought to support mathematical abilities. Unfortunately, there are not many mathematics teaching materials that specifically integrate technology in promoting mathematical literacy skills. In this regard, this research aims to develop an interactive mathematics e-module that integrates Kahoot! as a learning medium. By using questionnaire, observation and documentation techniques in the form of validation sheets, photo and video documentation, observation sheets and questionnaire sheets, this development research produces a product in the form of an interactive math e-Module integrated with games using the Kahoot! Platform. From the results of development using the Borg & Gall model, it was concluded that the product developed was declared valid and suitable for use in the learning process and was useful and helped students learn both in class and independently outside of class.

Abstract

Several inconsistent research results regarding the effect of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in enhancing Mathematical Abilities (MA) of primary school students have been reported widely by some researchers. To summarize, estimate, and evaluate the effect of PBL on MA of primary school students and investigate the study characteristics that provoked the heterogeneous effect size, a systematic review and meta-analysis was employed. Hedge's equation was employed to measure effect size using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) software as an analysis tool. The synthesis of 16 relevant primary studies revealed that the overall implementation of PBL had a high positive effect (g = 1,050) significantly compared to conventional learning on MA of primary school students based on a random effect model. Moreover, the characteristics of the sampling technique, publication index, and MA significantly caused the heterogeneity of the effect size of PBL towards students' MA. Thus, these results suggest that primary school mathematics teachers should select PBL as one of the best solutions to enhance students' MA and consider the characteristics of students MA that will be improved. Besides, researchers should select random sampling as a sampling technique to select the sample and the literature indexed by Scopus as references to support the quality of research.

Abstract

Cabri is characterized by an attractive advantage and provides wide-ranging benefits in the teaching of mathematics. Although today there have been many studies on the edges of Cabri, experiments on Cabri-Express have not been widely explored. For this reason, a quasi-experimental study with a randomized posttest only design involving 80 grade VII junior high school students in Ruteng, Indonesia, was conducted to analyze the effect of Cabri-Express in learning geometry on students' overall mathematical communication ability (MCA) and based on students' initial mathematical abilities. The results of the MCA test are the research data, which consists of 5 questions that are then analyzed by t-test and preceded by conducting an analysis prerequisite test. The Hedges equation describes how much influence the Cabri-Express model has on students' MCA. The results showed that the overall MCA of students who were taught using the help of an Cabri-Express was better than students who were taught using the conventional model. From the Hedges equation, an effect size of 1.23 is obtained, indicating that the use of Cabri-Expresses strongly affects students' MCA. These results interpret that students who are ranked 13th in the experimental class are equivalent to those who are ranked 5th in the control class. By clarifying the effect of Cabri-Express on students' MCA, this study recommends the need to use Cabri-Express in mathematics classes. The analysis results can also help researchers explore other material in a relatable context.

Abstract

This study aims to integrate research findings on the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on the mathematical communication skills of junior high school students in Indonesia since 2014. The research method used is a meta-analysis with many samples studied, namely 12 published articles. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The effect size transformation is based on the g hedge equation calculated using the Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) application. Based on the results of the analysis, the combined effect of PBL on mathematical communication skills is 0.791, with the high influence criteria according to the random-effect estimation model. There are four criteria considered, namely, sample size, year of study, source of journal publication, and grade level. The results of the heterogeneity test seen based on the variables studied showed that the effect of the PBL learning model was not significantly different from the three moderator variables in terms of sample size, year of study, and publication journals and very different in terms of grade level. This finding is surprising because the random-effects model, as determined by the heterogeneity test, showed variation between effect sizes. Only one of the four variables causes this variation. Therefore further research is needed, which includes more studies and the characteristics studied to describe it more accurately.
