Abstract

Mathematics education continues to seek practical instructional approaches that enhance students' conceptual understanding and foster problem-solving abilities through creative and critical thinking, aligned with Bloom's Taxonomy of Educational Objectives. This study contributes novel insights by integrating Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) supported by mathematics software within a meta-analytic framework, thereby providing a comprehensive examination of their combined effects and magnitude. The purpose of this meta-analysis was to investigate the overall impact of RME supported by mathematics software on students' mathematical abilities across multiple empirical studies. The analysis was conducted using peer-reviewed articles published in reputable international journals, with inclusion criteria based on research design, sample characteristics, and intervention features. A total of 14 studies met the eligibility criteria and were included in the analysis. Statistical procedures were employed to calculate effect sizes, assess heterogeneity, examine potential moderating variables, and determine them. Although the study was limited by the availability of high-quality empirical research and the potential for publication bias, the results provide robust evidence that integrating RME and mathematics software significantly increases students' mathematical abilities. These findings underscore the importance of technology-enhanced pedagogical strategies and offer valuable implications for educators, researchers, and policymakers seeking to advance the quality of mathematics education

Abstract

Prestasi belajar mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika Universitas Katolik Indonesia Santu Paulus yang berada di semester enam pada tahun akademik 2024/2025 dalam mata kuliah kalkulus integral masih memiliki tingkat pemahaman yang kurang memuaskan, dengan hanya 42% mahasiswa yang mampu menguasai materi dengan baik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar kalkulus integral berbasis web-blog yang dapat dikategorikan valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode Research and Development (RandD) dengan model ADDIE yang terbagi menjadi lima fase: analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 41 mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika di Universitas Katolik Santu Paulus Ruteng untuk tahun akademik 2024/2025. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian meliputi kuesioner untuk validitas, kuesioner untuk kepraktisan, dan tes untuk prestasi pada pelajaran matematika. Data yang berkaitan dengan validitas dan kepraktisan dianalisis menggunakan teknik persentase, sedangkan efektivitasnya dinilai melalui uji t-test berpasangan dan N-gain. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa materi ajar yang telah dirancang memperoleh tingkat validitas yang sangat tinggi, yaitu 93.75% untuk validitas materi, 95% untuk teknologi pendidikan, dan 97% untuk segi bahasa. Tingkat kepraktisan yang diperoleh mencapai 89.76%, yang dapat dikategorikan sebagai sangat praktis menurut penilaian mahasiswa. Uji efektivitas menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam prestasi belajar, dari rata-rata 71.02 untuk pretest meningkat menjadi 88.49 pada posttest dengan nilai signifikansi 0.00.

Abstract

The rapid development of Augmented Reality (AR) in education has created new possibilities for connecting cultural heritage with technological innovation, particularly through an ethnomathematics approach to mathematics learning. This study provides novelty by offering a comprehensive meta-analysis investigating how sample size and subject matter moderate the effectiveness of AR-based ethnomathematics in improving mathematics education outcomes. Fifteen relevant empirical studies published between 2015 and 2025 were systematically identified through leading academic databases, and effect sizes were synthesized using a random-effects model. A rigorous coding process and statistical analysis were used to ensure the reliability and validity of the findings. The results indicate that AR significantly improves students' mathematical abilities, with variations depending on the subject matter. Furthermore, subject matter was found to be an important moderating variable, influencing the extent to which AR supports the integration of cultural and technological dimensions in mathematics education. These findings recommend that future research consider pedagogical design, cultural context, and technological adaptability when implementing AR-based ethnomathematics to optimize learning outcomes.

Abstract

The integration of digital technology with a cultural approach has become an important innovation in mathematics education to enhance meaningful learning. However, there is still limited research combining Augmented Reality (AR) with ethnomathematics to strengthen students' mathematical communication skills. This study aims to analyze the impact of Augmented Reality and ethnomathematics-based learning on students' mathematical communication skills. The study employed an experimental design involving 60 seventh-grade students selected randomly from eight classes at SMP Negeri 6 Langke Rembong, Ruteng, Indonesia, during the 2024/2025 academic year. The research instrument consisted of a five-item mathematical communication test, which was validated through expert judgment and empirical testing, and demonstrated satisfactory reliability based on internal consistency analysis. SPSS and CMA software were used to support data analysis. A t-test was conducted to examine differences in mathematical communication ability between the experimental and control groups after fulfilling prerequisite assumptions. The findings indicate that the integration of AR and ethnomathematics significantly improved students’ ability to express mathematical ideas clearly, both orally and in written form. Additionally, students showed higher levels of cultural engagement and appreciation, which positively contributed to the development of their communication skills. This study recommends the integration of AR and ethnomathematics as a sustainable innovation in mathematics learning and suggests further research to explore its application across diverse mathematical topics and broader educational contexts.

Abstract

Abstrak: Perkembangan kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence/AI) mendorong transformasi peran dosen dan guru pamong dalam pendidikan profesi guru. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan literasi digital, kemampuan koding dasar AI, dan mindset inovatif melalui Workshop Coding AI bagi 56 dosen dan guru pamong di Universitas Katolik Santu Paulus Ruteng. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif berbasis proyek melalui tiga tahap, yaitu pendalaman konsep dasar AI dan logika pemrograman, praktik koding AI berbantuan assistant, serta refleksi pedagogis integrasi AI dalam pembelajaran PPG. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan angket dan wawancara pasca kegiatan. Hasil menunjukkan capaian yang sangat baik, dengan 85% peserta berada pada kategori tinggi dalam literasi digital, 83% mengalami peningkatan kemampuan koding dasar AI, dan 86% menunjukkan penguatan mindset inovatif. Peningkatan tersebut tercermin dalam pemahaman konsep AI, pemanfaatan teknologi digital pembelajaran, serta kesiapan mengintegrasikan AI secara kontekstual dan reflektif. Secara keseluruhan, workshop ini berdampak positif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi digital dosen dan guru pamong serta memperkuat ekosistem pembelajar yang adaptif dan inovatif di lingkungan PPG FKIP Unika Santu Paulus Ruteng.Abstract: The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has transformed paradigms in education, particularly the roles of lecturers and mentor teachers as key agents in the Professional Teacher Education (PPG) program. This community service program aimed to develop AI literacy and foundational coding competencies through an AI Coding Workshop involving 56 participants consisting of lecturers and mentor teachers at Saint Paul Catholic University of Ruteng. The program employed a participatory, project-based learning approach through three main stages: (1) conceptual exploration of AI and programming logic, (2) hands-on practice in developing simple AI-assisted coding models, and (3) pedagogical reflection on integrating AI into PPG learning and assessment. The results indicated a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of AI concepts, skills in applying AI-based coding tools, and pedagogical awareness of utilizing AI for learning innovation and supervision. This activity not only strengthened participants’ digital competence but also fostered a transformative mindset—from being mere examiners to becoming learning innovators empowered by artificial intelligence. The program serves as a model for enhancing the capacity of lecturers and mentor teachers to face the ongoing digital transformation in education.

Abstract

Abstrak: Bukti menunjukkan bahwa variabel kognitif sosial seperti pengetahuan, minat, dan niat memainkan peran penting apakah guru memilih untuk mengintegrasikan teknologi ke dalam praktik pembelajaran mereka. Pengetahuan dan minat memiliki dampak pada niat mereka untuk menggunakan teknologi pendidikan. Dengan demikian maka diperlukan pendampingan kepada para guru dalam menerapkan fase TPACK dari berkesimpung sampai pada terbiasa menerapkannya dalam pembelajaran. Musawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) SARAYA merupakan salah satu kelompok guru di Kecamatan Satarmese Kabupaten Manggarai NTT yang menyadari peran dan manfaat teknologi tetapi tidak memiliki pengetahuan yang memadai untuk menggunakannya di dalam kelas. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran yang akan dioperasikan melalui perangkat seluer dinilai sesuai dengan kondisi para guru. Untuk alasan tersebut maka kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini akan mengajak guru-guru yang tergabung MGMP SARAYA untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis augmented reality. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut maka PKM ini focus pada workshop pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis augmented reality. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan menggunakan konteks kearifan local atau yang disebut etnomatematika sebagai costume marker atau penanda. Produk fisik yang dihasilkan diharapkan bisa meningkatkan minat siswa dalam belajar matematika dan pada akhirnya akan meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Dari hasil analisis respon para guru ditemukan bahwa proyeksi perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dapat digunakan oleh guru sangat tinggi (92%), dan berpotensi meningkatkan perhatian dan minat siswa dalam belajar matematika.Abstract: Evidence suggests that social cognitive variables such as knowledge, interest, and intention play an important role in whether teachers choose Evidence suggests that social cognitive variables such as knowledge, interest, and intention play an important role in whether teachers choose to integrate technology into their instructional practices. Thus, assistance is needed for teachers in implementing the TPACK phase, from getting involved to getting used to applying it in learning. SARAYA Subject Teacher Discussion (MGMP) is a group of teachers in Satarmese District, Manggarai Regency, NTT, who know the role and benefits of technology but do not have sufficient knowledge to use it in the classroom. The development of learning devices that will be operated via mobile devices is assessed according to the conditions of the teachers. For this reason, this community service activity will invite teachers who are members of MGMP SARAYA to develop augmented reality-based learning media. This activity will improve the balanced use of technology and didactic skills. This PKM focuses on workshops on developing augmented reality-based learning tools to achieve this goal. The learning tools developed use the context of local wisdom or what is called ethnomathematics as costume markers or markers. It is hoped that the resulting physical product can increase students' interest in learning mathematics and ultimately improve learning quality. From the results of the analysis of teachers' responses, it was found that the projection of the learning devices developed could be used by teachers very highly (92%), and had the potential to increase students' attention and interest in learning mathematics.
