Abstract

Purpose: produce a valid research instrument to measure the feasibility of instructional media on general biology material. Methodology: This research and development uses the Thiagarajan model, which consists of define, design, and develop. The research subjects were two lecturers out of 10 lecturers in the department of Biology Education at IKIP Budi Utomo. The research instrument is a questionnaire on the validity of the instructional media instrument given to two lecturers. The research data is the instrument validity score and comments from experts. The data analysis technique is descriptive qualitative. Results: The results of the study indicate that the instrument of eligibility for instructional media that has been developed is valid (99.36%, very valid criteria), so that it can be used as a measuring instrument for the validity of instructional media on general biology material. Applications/Originality/Value: In the case of existing development research, researchers often rule out testing the validity of the instrument, meaning that here it is necessary to emphasize that the researcher must first test the validity of the instrument. This is important for researchers in the field of formal education and researchers in the instructional media industry so that the research instruments are unquestionable and the research data obtained can be accounted for. So that the instructional media developed will be effective in overcoming learning problems. Thus, the development of this research instrument could be a valuable guide for researchers to use research instruments that have been declared valid by experts.

Abstract

The effectiveness of health services is carried out to increase the satisfaction of the people who seek treatment. Problems with services are timeliness, community dissatisfaction, and indiscipline of health workers in providing services. This research method uses descriptive qualitative through interviews, observation and documentation. Determination of informants by purposive sampling involved, namely the head, coordinator, administrator, dental practitioner, MCH/KB implementer, drug and pharmacy implementer through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study are the effectiveness of services by improving facilities and infrastructure, and the quality of human resources. It is proven by the implementation of the nutrition post program for weighing and measuring the height of toddlers so that parents are trained to choose food for their child's growth and development, the free covid-19 vaccination program. The supporting factor is the collaboration between health workers, village government, and the community and periodic evaluation by analyzing the results of the suggestion box. The inhibiting factor is timeliness and indiscipline, causing public dissatisfaction with services. Keyword: , , .

Abstract

Abstract Purpose: This study investigates the effect of implementing Green Curriculum-based Project Based Learning (PjBL) on the development of metacognitive skills among students at PIQ Singosari Malang Islamic Boarding School, while simultaneously fostering environmental awareness through practical ecological projects. Design/methodology/approach: The research employed a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group model, involving 50 students divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected using the validated Metacognitive Awareness Inventory and analyzed through independent samples t-test to compare mean differences in metacognitive skills between groups receiving Green Curriculum-integrated PjBL and conventional instruction. Research limitations/implications: While limited by sample size and intervention duration, the findings strongly suggest that integrating Green Curriculum with PjBL effectively enhances metacognitive skills. This implies that educators should consider incorporating environmental projects into science education to simultaneously develop cognitive abilities and ecological awareness. Findings: The results demonstrated statistically significant improvements in the experimental group across all metacognitive dimensions, with planning showing a mean difference of 9.08 (p=0.012), monitoring 13.72 (p=0.001), and evaluation 24.52 (p=0.000). The 95% confidence intervals confirmed the reliability of these differences, indicating substantial enhancement in students' abilities to plan, monitor, and evaluate their learning processes. Originality/value: This study presents a novel integration of Green Curriculum with PjBL specifically designed for Islamic educational contexts, offering empirical evidence of how environmental projects enhance metacognitive abilities while aligning with Islamic environmental values, thus providing a replicable model for sustainable education development

Abstract

This study investigates how the Islamic legal obligation of nafkah, or spousal financial support, is reinterpreted in Muslim families in Indonesia through the lens of maqāṣid al-usrah. It aims to explore how gender dynamics, legal consciousness, and economic realities reshape the meaning and practice of nafkah beyond traditional legal prescriptions. Employing a qualitative socio-legal method, the research integrates doctrinal analysis with empirical insights drawn from in-depth interviews with seven female Muslim scholars from pesantren-based and higher education academic communities in East Java. Thematic analysis based on the principles of maqāṣid al-usrah reveals that while formal Islamic law defines nafkah as a unilateral male duty, lived experiences reflect a more collaborative and ethically responsive understanding. Informants demonstrate that financial responsibilities are frequently negotiated based on capability, mutual trust, and emotional stability, embodying values such as justice, compassion, and shared responsibility. The study further highlights how socio-cultural norms and internal religious reasoning influence women’s choices to either uphold or pragmatically reinterpret nafkah obligations. These findings underscore the relevance of maqāṣid-based approaches in bridging doctrinal ideals with everyday realities, offering a pathway for reforming Islamic family law toward greater gender equity and contextual sensitivity.
