Abstract

Palm oil is one of Indonesia’s leading export commodities and plays an important role in supporting export revenue and international trade performance. This study aims to analyze the development of Indonesian palm oil exports and examine the influence of gross domestic product (GDP), exchange rates, and population on Indonesian palm oil exports to its three major destination countries, namely India, China, and Pakistan, during the period 2012–2022. This study employed a quantitative approach using descriptive analysis and panel data regression. The findings show that Indonesian palm oil exports to the three destination countries fluctuated during the observation period, with India recording the highest average export value and Pakistan showing a stronger upward trend toward the end of the period. The regression results indicate that GDP and exchange rates have a positive and significant effect on Indonesian palm oil exports, while population has a significant negative effect. These findings suggest that destination-country macroeconomic conditions and price competitiveness play an important role in shaping Indonesia’s palm oil export performance. This study contributes to the international trade literature by providing comparative empirical evidence on the demand-side determinants of Indonesian palm oil exports across major destination countries. In addition, the findings offer practical insights for strengthening export competitiveness and developing export-oriented trade strategies in the global palm oil market.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of regional financial performance and its effect on economic growth in Jambi Province during the 2019–2023 period. Regional financial performance is measured using the Regional Financial Independence Ratio and the Fiscal Decentralization Degree (FDD), while economic growth is proxied by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). This research employs a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance (DJPK), and regional government financial reports covering 11 regencies/cities in Jambi Province. The analytical method applied is panel data regression using the Random Effect Model (REM). The results indicate that both regional financial performance and economic growth in Jambi Province experienced fluctuations throughout the study period. Partially, the Fiscal Decentralization Degree (FDD) has a positive and significant effect on GRDP, with a probability value of 0.0138. In contrast, the Regional Financial Independence Ratio does not have a significant effect on GRDP, as indicated by a probability value of 0.8843. Simultaneously, FDD and the Regional Financial Independence Ratio significantly affect GRDP, with an F-statistic probability value of 0.0390. The coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.1173, indicating that 11.73% of GRDP variation can be explained by the two variables, while the remaining 88.27% is influenced by other factors outside the research model. This study concludes that strengthening regional fiscal capacity through the optimization of local own-source revenue and fiscal decentralization policies is essential for promoting sustainable economic growth in Jambi Province.

Abstract

The agricultural sector plays an important role in Indonesia’s economy; however, small-scale farmers continue to face major challenges such as limited capital, high production costs, and small landholdings, which result in relatively low farm income. This study aims to analyze the socioeconomic characteristics of farmers and examine the effects of agricultural working capital loans, production costs, and land area on vegetable farming income among members of the Berkah Tani Makmur Cooperative in Paal Merah Subdistrict, Jambi City. The research applies a quantitative approach using survey data and multiple regression analysis. The findings show that most farmers are in their productive age group but have relatively low levels of education, influencing their reliance on cooperatives as a primary source of capital. Simultaneously, agricultural working capital loans, production costs, and land area significantly affect farm income. Partially, working capital loans and land area have a positive effect, while production costs have a negative effect on agricultural income.
