Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Wordwall Program in vocabulary learning based on Brain-Based Learning. This research deals with the importance of solving the problems of teaching vocabulary through sound educational media. This research uses a quantitative method with an experimental approach. The experimental design used in this study was the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study involved two groups: the experimental group and the control group. The research subjects were fifth-grade students from class 5A as the experimental group, consisting of 36 students, and class 5B as the control group, also composed of 36 students. The data collection instrument is a test (pre-test and post-test). The researcher used the Kolmogorov-Smirnov, t-test and N-Gain to analyze the data. This study's results show that using the Wordwall Program based on Brain-Based Learning is effective in vocabulary learning. This is evident from the test results of both groups, where the post-test score for the experimental group was 84.22, while the control group scored 76.44. Additionally, based on the t-test, the sig (2-tailed) value was 0.024, which is greater than 0.05, indicating that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This means that there is a significant effect of vocabulary learning using Wordwall. This shows that class participation increased after using Wordwall. This study's findings confirm that using learning media in teaching vocabulary can significantly improve students’ language skills and enthusiasm for learning.

Abstract

In studying the science of meaning or semantics (dalalah science) there are many kinds of meaning, two of which are denotation meaning and connotation meaning. In Arabic, denotation and connotation meanings are not only limited to one dimension as in Indonesian. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find out the meanings in Arabic that are commensurate with denotation and connotation meanings. This research is a library research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection method uses library techniques. And using thematic analysis techniques, namely identifying themes related to denotative meaning and connotative meaning of Arabic contained in books, books, and scientific journals. Because there is no literature that provides an explicit classification of the meaning of denotative and connotative equivalents in Arabic, this paper will contribute to providing an understanding of the differences in denotative and connotative meanings in Arabic. The three equivalent meanings are: the first is the basic meaning and the Idafi meaning, the second is the haqiqi meaning and the majazi meaning, the third is the mukjami meaning and the siyaqi meaning. The three meanings have a relationship or connection with each other.

Abstract

The researcher selected this topic based on the need to develop a learning model that supports vocabulary acquisition and aligns with students' needs. Students face difficulties in learning vocabulary, such as the limited variety of instructional media, particularly technological tools, reliance on traditional methods, and low motivation, which hinder the optimal achievement of educational objectives. This study aims to explore the development process, validity, and effectiveness of a cooperative learning model, specifically the Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) type, utilizing Educandy for vocabulary instruction. The researcher employed the Research and Development (R&D) methodology, following the ADDIE model developed by Raiser and Molenda. This model consists of five phases: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The data collection instruments used in this study included tests (pre-test and post-test), questionnaires, interviews, and observations. For data analysis, the researcher applied the Likert scale and the N-Gain test. The findings indicated that the cooperative learning model of the Teams Games Tournaments type, integrated with Educandy, demonstrated a "very good" quality, receiving an evaluation score of 92% from the instructional media expert, 83.3% from the subject matter expert, and 77% from the Arabic language teacher. Furthermore, the results of the N-Gain test showed that the model's effectiveness was classified as "moderate effectiveness," with a score of 0.7. Keywords: Educandy, Cooperative Learning Model, Vocabulary. مستخلص البحثاختارت الباحثة هذا الموضوع على خلفية البحث وهي الحاجة إلى تطوير نموذج التعلم الذي يدعم تعلم المفردات ويتناسب مع احتياجات الطلاب. يواجه الطلاب صعوبات في تعلم المفردات، مثل قلة تنوع الوسائل التعليمية، خاصة التكنولوجية، والاعتماد على الأساليب التقليدية، وضعف الدافعية، مما يعيق تحقيق الأهداف التعليمية بشكلٍ أمثل. يهدف هذا البحث إلى الكشف عن عملية تطوير نموذج التعلم التعاوني، الذي يقتصر على نوع مسابقة ألعاب الفريق (Teams Games Tournaments)، باستخدام إيدوجاندي لتعليم المفردات، وصلاحيته، وفعاليته. استخدمت الباحثة في هذا البحث منهج البحث والتطوير (Research and Development)  وفقًا لنموذج ADDIE  الذي طوّره Raiser و Molenda. يتكون هذا النموذج من خمس مراحل، وهي: التحليل، والتصميم، والتطوير، والتنفيذ، والتقييم. أما أدوات جمع البيانات المستخدمة في هذا البحث، فتشمل الاختبارات (الاختبار القبلي والبعدي)، والاستبيان، والمقابلة، والملاحظة. ولتحليل البيانات، استخدمت الباحثة مقياس ليكرت واختبار “N-Gain”. أظهرت نتائج البحث أن نموذج التعلم التعاوني من نوع مسابقة ألعاب الفريق القائم على وسيلة Educandy يتمتع بجودة "جيد جدا"، حيث حصل على تقييم بنسبة 92% من خبير الوسائل، و83.3% من خبيرة المواد، و77% من تقييم معلمة اللغة العربية. كما أظهرت نتائج اختبار N-Gain أن فعالية النموذج تقع في مستوى "الفعالية المتوسطة" بدرجة 0.7. الكلمات المفتاحية : إيدوجاندي، نموذج التعلم التعاوني، المفردات.

Abstract

Surah Yasin has several privileges and virtues for those who read and understand it, in addition to the privileges obtained by those who understand it. Surah Yasin itself also has the privilege of several aspects, one of which is in the linguistic aspect in which it contains a lot of 'only' and other language styles such as hyperbole and personification. This research tries to uncover the existence of hyperbolic language styles and personifications structure contained in the Qur'an especially in Surah Yasin. The research method used by the researcher is a literature study by reading various literature and understanding theories related to and relevant to the topic being studied, with the analysis model using ‘content analysis’ adopted by the researcher from the content analysis model of the Kripperndorff Clause. The results of this research found that there were five verses containing a hyperbolic language style in Surah Yasin, those are in verses 28, 29, 75, 78, and 72. Then five verses were found that contained a personification structure in Surah Yasin, those are in verses 33, 38, 40, 46, and 49.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pemanfaatan Mendeley sebagai salah satu sarana pembelajaran kosakata. Agar dapat mengungkap keefektifan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan Mendeley dalam pembelajaran kosakata, sekaligus mengungkap tingkat keefektifan penggunaan Mendeley dalam pembelajaran kosakata di sekolah ini. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan rancangan non-equivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Islam Negeri 13 Jakarta yang berjumlah 56 siswa. Peneliti membagi siswa menjadi dua kelompok yaitu siswa kelas V (C) (28 siswa) sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan siswa kelas V (B) (28 siswa) sebagai kelompok kontrol. Kelompok eksperimen diberikan pengalaman mengajar kosakata dengan menggunakan Mendeley. Masing-masing kelompok diberikan tes sebanyak dua kali yaitu pre-test dan post-test. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah tes, wawancara, dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Mendeley dalam pembelajaran kosakata efektif. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dari hasil uji kedua kelompok, dimana nilai post-test kelompok eksperimen sebesar 79,64, sedangkan nilai post-test kelompok kontrol sebesar 70,92. Selain itu, berdasarkan uji-t diperoleh nilai sig 2-tailed sebesar 0,648. Nilai tersebut lebih besar dari 0,05 yang berarti hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar menggunakan Mendeley dalam pembelajaran kosakata mengalami peningkatan. Hasil uji N-gain menunjukkan bahwa keefektifan metode berada pada taraf “keefektifan sedang” dengan nilai sebesar 0,53.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a WordPress-based learning media, namely HayyaNabda.my.id, designed to support vocabulary learning for visually impaired students. The media leverages screen reader features that are user-friendly for individuals with visual impairments. At the foundation, visually impaired students learn the rules of sharf and nahwu through singing methods to memorize tashrif and practice simple conversations. However, the lack of learning resources, such as limited Braille textbooks and only 60 minutes of weekly study time, forces teachers to rely more on lecture and conversational methods. While this approach facilitates material delivery, students still face difficulties in understanding vocabulary due to limited direct interaction and access to learning materials. Therefore, inclusive, comprehensive, and accessible learning media are needed to enhance students’ understanding of Arabic vocabulary. This research adopts the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE approach (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The results of the study show that the use of WordPress-based media is effective in improving students' understanding of Arabic vocabulary. Media validation by material and media experts yielded excellent results, each scoring 88%. Meanwhile, pre-test and post-test results indicated an increase in the average student comprehension score from 88 to 95.14, with an N-Gain value of 0.62, categorized as "moderate." Based on these findings, WordPress is considered an inclusive, effective, and relevant learning medium to support Arabic vocabulary learning for visually impaired students, while also opening opportunities for further development in other special education institutions.

Abstract

Bahasa adalah alat komunikasi utama manusia yang terus berkembang seiring kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan. Penelitian linguistik mengalami perkembangan pesat, khususnya dalam keterkaitannya dengan bidang lain seperti pendidikan, penerjemahan, dan teknologi. Namun, banyak peneliti pemula masih kesulitan membedakan penelitian linguistik dengan studi bahasa lainnya, serta memahami jenis, ruang lingkup, dan kontribusinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan kajian komprehensif tentang konsep penelitian linguistik, jenis-jenisnya—seperti penelitian deskriptif, historis, komparatif, teoretis, dan terapan—serta perbedaan metodologis dan fungsional di antara jenis tersebut. Kajian ini juga membahas bidang penelitian linguistik kontemporer yang berkaitan dengan pengembangan kurikulum, kecerdasan buatan, linguistik komputasional, dan teknologi bahasa. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif-analitis berbasis kajian literatur dan analisis kualitatif, penelitian ini menyoroti peran penting penelitian linguistik dalam pendidikan dan pengembangan teknologi bahasa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penelitian linguistik tidak hanya bersifat teoretis, tetapi juga aplikatif dalam pengembangan pembelajaran, pembuatan kamus, perangkat lunak bahasa, dan analisis wacana. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan integrasi penelitian linguistik dalam pendidikan guru dan pengembangan kebijakan bahasa untuk mengoptimalkan sinergi antara teori dan praktik.

Abstract

Mastery of speaking skills (maharah kalam) and reading skills (maharah qiro’ah) in Arabic is a crucial competency for students at the secondary level. Effective learning methods are essential to improve these two skills so that students can communicate and understand Arabic optimally. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Total Physical Response Storytelling (TPRS) method in teaching speaking and reading skills to seventh-grade students at MTsS Ma’had Al Zaytun. The study was designed to compare learning outcomes between a class using the TPRS method and a class using conventional teaching methods. The research method used was quantitative with a quasi-experimental design, involving two groups: an experimental class that used the TPRS method and a control class with conventional teaching methods. The research population consisted of 407 students, with a sample of 60 students taken for each group. Data were collected through observation, interviews, speaking and reading pretests and posttests, and questionnaires. The results showed that the average posttest score for the experimental class's speaking ability was 88.47, while the control class's was 67.83. For reading skills, the average posttest score for the experimental class was 86.82 and 66.02 for the control class. A statistical t-test showed a t-value of 24.29 for speaking and 21.29 for reading with a significance of 0.000 (<0.05), proving the significant effectiveness of the TPRS method in improving students' Arabic speaking and reading skills.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Role Play method in improving Arabic speaking skills. This research is significant because several issues in teaching speaking skills have been identified, including students’ lack of confidence when speaking Arabic due to their fear of making mistakes, which is caused by their limited vocabulary. Additionally, Arabic language instruction often focuses solely on vocabulary teaching, and teachers have not yet implemented engaging methods and strategies in Arabic language teaching. This study employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving two groups of students: an experimental group using the Role Play method and a control group not using the Role Play method. The research data was collected through oral tests (pre-test and post-test) and analyzed using t-tests and N-Gain tests to determine the effectiveness and degree of effectiveness of the method. After applying the treatment, the average score of the experimental group increased to 75.37, compared to 41.47 before the treatment. Meanwhile, the control group’s average pre-test score was 38.95, and their post-test score was 41.89. The t-test results showed a value of 19.96, with a t-table value of 1.68 at a 5% significance level and 2.43 at a 1% significance level. This indicates that the t-test value is greater than the t-table value, meaning the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, signifying that the Role Play teaching method effectively improves Arabic speaking skills. Furthermore, the N-Gain test was conducted to determine the level of effectiveness, which yielded a result of 0.6. This value falls within the range of >0.03 and <0.07, indicating that the effectiveness of this teaching method is categorized as moderate.
