Abstract

This study aims to develop a WordPress-based learning media, namely HayyaNabda.my.id, designed to support vocabulary learning for visually impaired students. The media leverages screen reader features that are user-friendly for individuals with visual impairments. At the foundation, visually impaired students learn the rules of sharf and nahwu through singing methods to memorize tashrif and practice simple conversations. However, the lack of learning resources, such as limited Braille textbooks and only 60 minutes of weekly study time, forces teachers to rely more on lecture and conversational methods. While this approach facilitates material delivery, students still face difficulties in understanding vocabulary due to limited direct interaction and access to learning materials. Therefore, inclusive, comprehensive, and accessible learning media are needed to enhance students’ understanding of Arabic vocabulary. This research adopts the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE approach (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The results of the study show that the use of WordPress-based media is effective in improving students' understanding of Arabic vocabulary. Media validation by material and media experts yielded excellent results, each scoring 88%. Meanwhile, pre-test and post-test results indicated an increase in the average student comprehension score from 86.75 to 95.14, with an N-Gain value of 0.633, categorized as "moderate." Based on these findings, WordPress is considered an inclusive, effective, and relevant learning medium to support Arabic vocabulary learning for visually impaired students, while also opening opportunities for further development in other special education institutions.

Abstract

Based on the readings and content analysis (tahlîl al-muhtawa) of Ibn Jinni’s book, al-khashâish and the other works related to linguistic thought, it was found that the notion of linguistic Ibn Jinni about the utterances and meaning are in the area of macro-linguistics that can not be separated from the study of phonology, morphology , syntax, and semantic. In addition, it cannot be separated from one another, utterances and meaning in Arabic, according to Ibn Jinni, it is used and developed as a medium of communication, both spoken and written. Therefore, word and meaning must be understood in the process, the events and the context of linguistic and socio-cultural context as a whole. Word and meaning of the object of study is the linguistic multiperspective, thus giving birth to the various fields of linguistic science. Linguistic thought about the word and meaning is important not only serve as a theoretical basis for understanding the text in Arabic, but also significantly to the development of learning 'ilm al-dalâlah (semantics) to the Arabic leaner or scholar.DOI: 10.15408/a.v2i2.2133

Abstract

This study aimed to reveal the professional competence of Arabic language teachers of MAN Jakarta,  in the aspects of the content of Arabic Skills, as well as their professional competence according to the Principal of MAN,  colleagues and the assessment of students.  Data collection techniques used were: questionnaire,  interview,  observation,  analysis of content/documents,  test,  and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The results showed that the professional competence of the teachers on the mastery of the material were on the category of "less".  This was supported by the average score of the test results of their Arabic language i. e.,  52. 23.  While professional competence based on assessment of Principal was "good/high" with the average score of 4. 6,  the perspective of colleagues was "good/high” (average score 4).  Based on students’ perspective, the professional competency of the Arabic language teacher at MAN Jakarta was "excellent/very high" with the average score of 90.

Abstract

This research aims to unravel Chomsky’s statment that generative transformation theory can be implemented in languages including Arabic. The main conclusions of this thesis was that generative transformation theory was carried out by Chomsky can be implemented into Alquran in all patterns. In Arabic grammar, however, especially in Alquran, these patterns were very diverse and varied. For example, there is a change in harakat, caused by the difference in position i'râb, al-ziyâdah which has lots of pattern or way, so did the placement pattern (al-ihlâl) and pattern i'âdat al-tartîb particularly at taqdîm wa ta'khîr and hadhf. However, the accuracy of Alquran sellection and the process of arrangement were truly remarkable, not only because of its i'jâz, but this is reflected in the results of the study and the findings of the theory of generative transformation implemented in Arabic Alquran.

Abstract

Ibnu Mada merupakan salah satu tokoh nuhat yang sangat terkenal pada masanya. Hal ini disebabkan oleh pemikiran-pemikirannya yang cendeung kontradiktif dengan para nuhat pada masanya sebagai mana tertuang dalam karya besarnya "al-Radd ‘Ala al-Nuhat”. Dalam tulisan ini, penulis ingin memaparkan dan mendeskripsikan pemikiran-pemikiran Beliau dalam kajian usul al-nahwi.Usul Al-Nahwi terdiri dari empat komponen, yaitu: qiyas , ta'lil (illah), ta'wil dan ‘amil. Dalam  hal qiyas, Ibnu  Madasecara tegas menolak qiyas aqli. Begitu juga dalam hal illah, Ibnu Mada hanya menerima Illah Ula dan tidak menerima illah thawani. Secara nyata, metode ta'wil dalam ilmu nahwu menjelma menjadi konsep hadhaf (pembuangan), istitar (penyembunyian) dan taqdir (pengkiraan) dalam sebuah kalimat, dan Ibnu Mada juga tidak menerima hal tersebut. Dalam hal ‘amil,  Ibnu Mada juga tidak menerima adanya amil lafzi. Begitulah penolakan Ibnu Mada terhadap praktik qiyas, illah, amil dan ta'wil. Pandangan Ibnu Mada berpijak pada apa yang oleh kalangan nuhat disebut dengan sima'i.

Abstract

This article explained several student learning styles in welcoming the Society Era 5.0. The samples are students from Department of Arabic Language Education, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University of Jakarta and Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University of Malang. The method used to collect data is direct observation and interviews with teachers and students. The researchers' questionnaires were distributed to students in the fifth semester of the 2020/2021 academic year via the online questionnaire through random sampling. The results showed many students' learning styles at both universities. It was noted that online learning was common, especially during the pandemic 3 years ago. Many applications support the learning process. Student learning styles in both universities relied heavily on rounding, google classroom, WhatsApp Group, and YouTube. Zoom took first place with 96.4% of respondents's answers. Students also need material assistance in the form of videos, ppt and others. It was recorded that 25% of lecturers in the Arabic Language Education Department of the State Islamic University of Jakarta used their YouTube channels as educational means.

Abstract

The study of motivation typically examines the reasons behind an individual's actions or behaviors, with a focus on identifying factors that either hinder or enhance enthusiasm for learning. This research aims to uncover commonalities in the challenges faced by students to propose a more effective and efficient learning process. The study sample consists of first and third-semester students enrolled in the Arabic Language Education program at UIN Jakarta during the 2021/2022 academic year. Data were collected using a questionnaire distributed to students and through direct observations of the learning process. Findings indicate that intrinsic factors, particularly self-confidence, play a crucial role in motivating students to learn a second language. Despite facing various challenges, students demonstrated resilience and a continued effort to maintain their motivation in learning Arabic. This research highlights the importance of fostering self-confidence and addressing demotivating factors to enhance the overall learning experience.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the phenomenon of syntactical interference in directed construction, to reveal the causes of syntactical interference and the efforts made to reduce the occurrence of syntactical interference. The method of this research is qualitative descriptive method. The researcher uses these methods in collecting data: observations, interviews and directed construction for eleventh grade students. This research encovers that they are are four phenomena of syntactical interference in directed construction among eleventh grade students at Al-Falah Islamic Secondary School; in matching; in the noun of the number; in the noun of the adjective; and in the lack of vocabulary. The factors that cause syntactical interference are: lack of vocabulary and lack of Arabic grammar mastery. The efforts to reduce the incidence of interference are: changing teaching methods, teaching techniques in correcting students mistakes, and conducting an activity to assess learning materials.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out whether the skills of listening and reading Arabic texts possessed by female students at the Islamic boarding school have an influence on their ability to write Arabic. After the researchers conducted quantitative research, using data collection techniques in the form of tests, observation and documentation. The results obtained were that the influence of listening skills on writing had a calculated r value (0.513) greater than r table (with a value of 0.216) with a significance of 5%, so it was stated that listening skills had a medium level influence on writing skills. Meanwhile, regarding the influence of reading skills on writing, it is stated that rcount (with a value of 0.385) is slightly greater than rtable (with a value of 0.216) with a significance of 5%, so it is stated that writing skills have a weak level of influence on writing skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of deep learning in Arabic vocabulary instruction based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation in an eighth-grade class of a junior high school. The findings reveal that the teacher applied deep learning through contextual approaches, meaningful exercises, and creative dialogue tasks that encouraged students to think critically and reflectively in using Arabic vocabulary. Learning activities involving HOTS, such as categorizing words, constructing contextual sentences, and composing simple dialogues, effectively enhanced students' engagement and deep understanding of vocabulary. The study recommends strengthening the role of the teacher as a facilitator in guiding students to build meaningful connections in Arabic vocabulary learning.
