Abstract

The year 2020, until now, is a year that changes all aspects of life. The spread of Covid-19 causes changes in the order in various fields ranging from health to education. The impact of the Covid-19has made students study online using existing devices. This situation needs to be addressed with the development of learning models that follow these conditions. This study aimed to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of STEM-based Blended learning worksheets developed to improve students' scientific argumentation skills. This research uses the ADDIE development model (Analysis, design, develop, implement, and evaluate), which begins with analyzing needs, making student worksheet designs, developing, conducting validation tests, conducting usage tests, and managing data. Data collection uses pretest and posttest instruments consisting of 10 multiple choice questions and five essay questions. Then it was done with the student worksheet Ohm's Law practicum. Data is analyzed using validity tests, paired T-tests to test effectiveness, and questionnaires to test practicality. This research indicates that the student worksheet that was developed was validated with the content feasibility aspect obtained is very valid criteria, the linguistic aspect obtained is very valid criteria, the presentation aspect obtained is very valid criteria, and the graphic aspect obtained is very valid criteria. The results of the practicality of the student worksheet in terms of the results of the student response questionnaires and obtained with very practical criteria. Then, the results of the effectiveness of the student worksheet in terms of the pretest and posttest treatment obtained an average N-Gain value was included in the medium category. Lastly, the student worksheet is feasible and ready to be used as teaching material. In the future, it is hoped that further research related to learning scientific argumentation to train students' argumentation skills in line with technological developments.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) pembelajaran diskusi berbasis pola argumentasi Toulmin untuk melatihkan keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah dan berpikir kritis serta mengetahui validitas, keparaktisan, dan keefektifan LKPD yang telah dikembangkan. Metode Research & Development (R&D) digunakan dengan model penelitian pengembangan yang digunakan yaitu ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Subjek penelitian yaitu 10 peserta didik kelas XI. Objek penelitian yaitu LKPD pembelajaran diskusi berbasis pola argumentasi Toulmin. Instrumen penelitian antara lain lembar validasi LKPD, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, angket respon peserta didik, serta soal pretest dan posttest. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: 1) Validitas LKPD berkategori sangat valid dengan persentase 90%. 2) LKPD yang telah dikembangkan dinyatakan praktis berdasarkan hasil observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran berkategori sangat praktis dengan persentase 88% dan berdasarkan hasil respon peserta didik berkategori praktis dengan persentase 77%. 3) Skor rata-rata N-gain adalah 0,6 berkategori sedang, dapat dikatakan bahwa LKPD efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah dan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKPD pembelajaran diskusi berbasis pola argumentasi Toulmin untuk melatihkan keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah dan berpikir kritis dinyatakan valid, efektif, dan praktis, sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan dalam pembelajaran fisika kedepannya. Pengembangan LKPD sejenis pada materi fisika dengan karakteristik yang sama dapat dilakukan lagi untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan argumentasi ilmiah.This study aims to develop discussion learning worksheets based on Toulmin's argumentation pattern to train scientific argumentation skills and critical thinking and to know the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the worksheets that have been developed. The Research & Development (R&D) method is used with the development research model adopted, namely ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The object of research is 10 11th students. The research subject is discussion learning worksheets based on Toulmin's argumentation pattern. The research instruments include student worksheets validation sheets, learning implementation observation sheets, student response questionnaires, as well as pretest and post-test questions. The results of this study indicate: 1) The validity of the worksheets is categorized as very valid with a percentage of 90%. 2) Student worksheets that have been developed are declared practical based on the results of observations of the implementation of learning are in the very practical category with a percentage of 88% and based on the results of student responses are in the practical category with a percentage of 77%. 3) The average N-gain score is 0.6 in the medium category, it can be said that the worksheets are effective in improving students' scientific argumentation and critical thinking skills. It can be said that the discussion worksheet based on Toulmin's argumentation pattern to train scientific argumentation and critical thinking skills is declared valid, effective, and practical, so that it can be used in future physics learning. The development of similar student worksheets on physics material with the same characteristics can be done again to improve critical thinking skills and scientific argumentation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the validity, effectiveness and practicality of a student worksheet development using the Argument-Driven Inquiry (ADI) learning model to practice students' critical thinking skills on Hooke's Law material. The type of research in this case is Research and Development with the ADDIE development model. The subjects in this study were 20 students of class XI Mathematics and Natural Sciences 4 at SMAN 18 Surabaya. The data obtained from this study are the results of the validation of the student worksheets, the pre-test and post-test results, and the questionnaire responses to the student worksheets. The research instrument was validated by 2 lecturer The results of the student worksheets based on ADI learning model validation were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis This study found that the results of the validation of the average student worksheets of the ADI learning model on Hooke's Law material to practice students' critical thinking skills are 88.6% with valid categories, the average student pre-test and post-test results are 46 and 80.8. The standard gain value is 0.64, which shows the effectiveness of using student worksheets for the argument-driven inquiry learning model in the medium category. The results of the student response questionnaire were 89.16%, with a very practice category. These results show that the development of student worksheets based on ADI learning model obtained valid, effective and practice categories to improve students' critical thinking skills on Hooke's Law material.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity, practicability, and efficiency of student worksheets for improving students' scientific argumentation skills on the topic of Newton's Law of Gravity. This study was conducted using the 4-D method, which consists of four stages of research: define, design, develop, and disseminate. It is restricted to the development stage in this study. The validity of the student worksheets was analysed based on aspects of content feasibility, guidelines, questions, scientific argumentation skills, and the Problem Based Learning model achieved an overall percentage of 93.75 %, 100 %, and 95.83 % respectively. 100 %, 100 %, 100 %. The practical aspect of student worksheets is analyzed based on the students' feedback in terms of the student worksheets component, Problem Based Learning model, enthusiasm, Newton's Law of Gravity topic, and scientific argumentation, with an average of 86 %, 82 %, 91.5 %, 88.5 %, and 88 % with robust criteria, respectively. The effectiveness of the student worksheets was determined using the outcomes of the scientific argumentation test's pretest and posttest, and they met the criteria for being very effective. The given test received an average n-gain score of 0.7342 in the interpretation category. Based on the research findings of the data analysis for validity, practicability, and effectiveness, it is possible to conclude that the student worksheets developed are feasible and effective in improving students' argumentation skills. Student worksheets based on a similar Problem Based Learning model could be designed to improve students' argumentation skills on other physics topics.

Abstract

Berdasarkan Peraturan Menteri Negara Pendayagunaan  Aparatur  Negara  dan  Reformasi Birokrasi  Nomor 16 Tahun 2009 Tentang Jabatan Fungsional Guru dan Angka Kreditnya,  salah satu persyaratan kenaikan pangkat dan golongan guru adalah membuat karya tulis ilmiah/artikel ilmiah. Disisi lain, mayoritas guru sudah pernah melakukan penelitian Tindakan kelas (PTK) namun hanya sebagian kecil dari mereka yang memiliki pengalaman mengubah laporan PTK-nya menjadi sebuah artikel yang dipublikasikan dalam sebuah jurnal ilmiah. Masih banyak guru yang merasa kesulitan dalam penulisan artikel ilmiah, khususnya para guru Fisika yang tergabung dalam satuan Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) Fisika Kota Surabaya. Tim Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) dari Jurusan Fisika FMIPA Unesa mengadakan kegiatan pelatihan penulisan artikel ilmiah untuk memfasilitasi publikasi anggota MGMP Fisika Kota Surabaya. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan adalah penyampaian materi, pengadaan contoh dan pendampingan. Adapun tahapan yang dilakukan dalam pelatihan antara lain penyampaian materi dan pengadaan contoh artikel ilmiah, penulisan draft artikel ilmiah, evaluasi hasil draft artikel ilmiah, pendampingan penulisan artikel ilmiah dan pendampingan submit artikel. Hasil dari kegiatan pelatihan yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta mengenai hal-hal penting dalam penulisan artikel ilmiah sebesar 84%. Kegiatan pelatihan juga mendapatkan respon baik dari para peserta yang dapat dilihat dari penilaian tinggi pada angket evaluasi kegiatan. Draft artikel ilmiah dari peserta yang terkumpul mendapatkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 76 dari 100 yang menunjukkan kemampuan peserta sudah cukup baik. Selanjutnya, kegiatan PKM ini diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak positif pada anggota MGMP Fisika kota Surabaya terutama dalam peningkatan artikel ilmiah baik dalam segi kualitas dan kuantitas Scientific Article Writing Training to Facilitate Publication of MGMP Physics Surabaya Members Based on the Regulation of the Minister of State for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Number 16 of 2009 concerning Teacher Functional Positions and Credit Scores, one of the requirements for promotion and class of teachers is to write scientific papers/scientific articles. On the other hand, most teachers have conducted classroom action research (CAR). Still, only a small number of them have experience turning their CAR reports into articles published in a scientific journal. Many teachers still find it challenging to write scientific articles, especially Physics teachers who are members of the Subject Teacher Consultation (MGMP) Physics Surabaya. The Community Service Team (PKM) from the Physics Department of FMIPA Unesa held a scientific article writing training activity to facilitate the publication of Physics MGMP members in Surabaya. The workshop method is material presentation, procuring samples, and mentoring. The stages of training include delivering material and providing examples of scientific articles, writing drafts of scientific articles, evaluating the results of scientific articles manuscript, assisting in writing scientific articles, and assisting in submitting articles. The result of the workshop activities is the increase in participants' understanding of necessary matters in writing scientific articles by 84%. The training activities also received a good response from the participants, which can be seen from the high ratings on the activity evaluation questionnaire. The scientific articles manuscript from the collected participants received an average score of 76 out of 100, which showed that the participants' abilities were quite good. Furthermore, this PKM activity is expected to have a positive impact on members of the Surabaya City Physics MGMP, especially in increasing scientific articles both in terms of quality and quantity.

Abstract

Local wisdom is a characteristic or culture that develops within the local scope from generation to generation in a certain area or region with cultural values. This engklek is a game that is done by doing the engklek, angkle, or angkling movement, namely walking and jumping using one leg. This study aims to explore and analyze the relationship between physics concepts and hopscotch games. This research method uses a qualitative research method in the form of a literature study. Data collection techniques in this study were observation and documentation. The data sources used in this study are observation as primary data and literature review as secondary data. The data that has been obtained will be reduced according to the needs to be achieved. Sources of data in this study are divided into 2, namely primary data and secondary data. Primary data is done by observing and documenting the crank game. Secondary data were obtained by reviewing 7 articles between 2016 - 2021. The results of this study found that there are physics concepts in the engklek game, namely parabolic motion, Newton's law, and rigid body equilibrium. This can make the engklek game an alternative learning media with concrete examples in the surrounding environment. The concept of physics can be found in the surrounding or nearby environment to be used as a more meaningful learning resource. The meaningful learning question is that learning can make it easier for students to understand learning because it connects concepts with real life.

Abstract

Indonesia has a variety of cultures that can be used for ethnoscience-based learning. Indonesian culture will be better known if it is integrated into education, one of which is physics learning. One of the cultures that exist in Indonesia is the Remo Dance which is a traditional dance originating from East Java. Dance is a cultural heritage that we need to preserve because culture is a reflection of a nation. This research was conducted with the aim of identifying the physics concepts contained in the Remo Gagrak Anyar Dance so that they can be integrated into physics learning activities. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with observations, interviews, and a literature study. Based on the results obtained, there are physics concepts in Remo Dance, including the material of muscle force, Newton's third law, gravity, circular motion, static balance, sound sources, and light. The results of this study indicate that there is potential in ethnoscience-based physics teaching materials and can be applied to physics learning to help students improve understanding and learning outcomes. Other local cultural studies can be carried out to facilitate contextual understanding of the material in various subjects and aim to preserve the culture of the Indonesian nation.

Abstract

This study aimed to find research trend online discussion to improve argumentation skills in education especially physics education. The method used in this research is bibliometric analysis by using VOSviewer. The data used is the Scopus database in the last 10 years. The research findings found that there are 1,447 documents that meet the predetermined criteria. The number of online discussion research increases gradually over the research period 2012-2021. The two highest sources of documents came from journals and conference proceedings and a higher percentage of citations were carried out on scientific journal. There are five trend research clusters on online discussion (4 main clusters and 1 secondary). The first cluster focuses on online discussion methods, the second cluster focuses on online discussion model, the third cluster focuses on the application of online discussions, the fourth cluster focuses on media used in online discussions, the fifth secondary cluster focuses on the goals of online discussion. The “argumentation” keyword is not included in the top 10 keywords, this shows that online discussion research has just little linked to argumentation as an indicator of the quality of online discussion. This condition creates an opportunity for further research related to online discussion in improving argumentation skills.

Abstract

E-modul dikembangkan bertujuan untuk membantu peserta didik belajar mandiri, sedangkan multiple representation bermanfaat untuk memudahkan peserta didik dalam belajar konsep. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kemandirian belajar, dan minat belajar peserta didik pada Pelajaran fisika dalam penggunaan e-modul berbasis multiple representation. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan kuantitatif deskriptif. Tahap penelitian mulai dari validitas e-modul, penerapan-emodul oleh peserta didik sejumlah 30 orang, dan analisis kemandirian belajar, dan minat belajar peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah menggunakan angket minat dan kemandirian belajar. Analisis minat dan kemandirian menggunakan statistik deskriptif dengan bantuan aplikasi eviews. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa persentase kemandirian belajar peserta didik mencapai 83% termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Minat belajar mencapai 80,2% termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Kelemahan penelitian ini masih dalam skala kecil hanya 30 orang dalam satu lokasi. Perlu dilakukan uji dalam skala yang lebih luas untuk memperoleh hasil yang lebih komplek. Selain itu perlu dilakukan uji coba kemampuan kognitif peserta didik untuk mengukur penguasaan konsep materi fisika.

Abstract

Perkembangan pendidikan di Indonesia diikuti dengan tren pengintegrasian kearifan lokal dalam satuan pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa melalui model pembelajaran contextual teaching and learning berbasis kearifan lokal Karapan Sapi Madura. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah one-shot case study dengan indikator berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian ini menyajikan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa peserta melalui hasil posttest. Terdapat 12 peserta didik dalam kategori sangat kritis, 20 peserta didik dalam kategori kritis, dan 2 peserta didik dalam kategori kurang kritis. Harapannya, kearifan lokal di Indonesia terus dikembangkan dan diimplementasikan sebagai bahan ajar agar peserta didik semakin paham.
