Abstract

Peningkatan produksi padi lahan kering dapat dilakukan dengan sistem tumpang sari dan pemanfaatan asap cair tempurung  kelapa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tumpangsari padi gogo-rumput dengan aplikasi asap cair tempurung kelapa terhadap karakter pertumbuhan, fisiologis, dan hasil padi gogo serta tingkat serangan hama dan patogen pada kondisi kekeringan. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan petak petak terbagi dengan tiga ulangan. Petak utama terdiri atas varietas padi gogo; Situ Bagendit, Inpago Unsoed 1 dan Situ Patenggang. Anak petak merupakan konsentrasi asap cair tempurung kelapa yaitu tanpa aplikasi, konsentrasi 1:100 dan konsentrasi 1:200. Anak-anak petak terdiri atas tanpa rumput, rumput gajah, sereh dan rumput gajah+sereh. Variabel yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah dan luas daun, jumlah anakan, kandungan prolin, kadar klorofil a dan b, jumlah gabah isi, bobot gabah petak efektif, bobot gabah ha-1, indeks panen, serta intensitas serangan hama dan patogen. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa padi gogo yang ditanam pada kondisi kekeringan dengan penanaman rumput dan aplikasi asap cair tempurung kelapa belum mampu menghasilkan produksi yang optimal. Tumpangsari padi gogo-sereh lebih memberikan dampak terhadap karakter pertumbuhan dan hasil padi gogo dibandingkan dengan aplikasi asap cair tempurung kelapa. Secara umum, hasil padi gogo < 1 t ha-1, namun varietas Situ Patenggang menunjukan hasil lebih baik dibandingkan varietas lainnya. Intensitas serangan walang sangit lebih rendah pada sistem tumpangsari padi gogo varietas Situ Patenggang-sereh. ABSTRACTRice production in the upland can be increased by multiple cropping system and coconut shell wood vinegar application. The objectives of this study was to know the effects of intercropped rice–grass with application of coconut shell wood vinegar on characters of growth, physiological, and yield of upland rice as well as intensity of pest and disease under drought condition. Split split plot design with main plot of upland rice varieties i.e. Situ Bagendit, Inpago Unsoed 1 and Situ Patenggang, sub plot consist of coconut shell wood vinegar concentration i.e. 0, 1:100 and 1:200, sub sub-plot of rice–grass intercropped i.e. no grass, Pennisetum purpureum, lemongrass and Pennisetum purpureum+lemongrass were tested with three replications. Observed variables were plant height, leaf number, leaf area, number of tillers, contents of proline, chlorophyll a and b, weight of grain in effective plot, weight of grain ha-1, harvest index and intensity of pest and disease. The results showed that rice-grass intercropped and application of coconut shell wood vinegar in drought condition has not been able to produce the optimal production. Under drought condition, intercropped rice-grass had significantly impact on the character of growth and yield of the upland rice. Generally, all upland rice varieties gained low yield (<1 t ha-1), but Situ Patenggang variety showed higher yield than other varieties and low intensity of brownhopper attack as well as in rice-lemongrass intercropped.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of branch pruning and chicken manure application on improving the growth and yield of broccoli in the lowland. The research was conducted in the dry land of Kutasari Village, Baturraden District, Banyumas Regency at 138 m above sea level. The research was arranged in a Factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications consisting of two factors of chicken manure application (without chicken manure and with chicken manure at doses of 10 ton.ha-1 and 20 ton.ha-1) and branch pruning (without and with branch pruning of 25% and 50%). The pruning was performed when the plants initiated flowers. The observed data were analyzed with the F test and followed with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a P>0.05. The branch pruning resulted in a significant effect on the number of leaves, leaf width, head weight, and head diameter. Meanwhile, the chicken manure application showed a significant effect on all of the observed variables. There was an interaction effect of branch pruning and chicken manure application on the leaf width, head weight, and head diameter. The best result was obtained by the combined treatment of 50% branch pruning and 20 ton.ha-1 chicken manure, resulting in the head weight of 1048.33 g.plant-1 and leaf width of 1705.41 cm2.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi abu sekam terhadap kandungan prolin dan silikat daun serta kualitas hasil yaitu protein dan amilosa biji padi gogo dan hubungan korelasi antar keempat komponen tersebut pada kondisi pertanaman 80 persen kapasitas lapang pada skala pot. Penelitian dilakukan di polibag dalam screen house Fakultas Pertanian Unsoed dengan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok pola faktorial dengan faktor varietas (Situ patenggang, Limboto, Towuti, Batutegi dan Aek sibundong) dan faktor abu sekam (0, 2, 4, 6 t/ha), diulang tiga kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian abu sekam dosis 2−6 t/ha mampu meningkatkan kandungan silikat daun antara 18,49−29,43% dan menurunkan kandungan amilosa biji pada lima varietas sekitar 4,19−6,92%. Pemberian abu sekam dosis 2−6 t/ha mampu meningkatkan kandungan prolin daun antara 27,56−70,63% dan protein biji antara 2,35−16,71%. Antarvarietas menunjukan bahwa kandungan prolin tertinggi dihasilkan oleh varietas Batu tegi 18,58 persen dan protein biji pada varietas Situ patenggang 9,55%. Terdapat korelasi antar karakter fisiologis yaitu antara silikat-prolin (0,62) dan kandungan protein-amilosa biji (-0,78).

Abstract

The Ngudi Tani farmer group is one of the farmer groups in Bobosan Village, North Purwokerto District, Banyumas Regency. The rice fields in the Bobosan village area have irrigation system and the water is always available throughout the year, however rice farming has not been applied environmentally friendly agricultural system yet. Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) of urine rabbit with quince bengal fruit could apply as substitution of fertilizer and pesticide synthetics.The purpose of this service activity was to increase understanding and knowledge about organic farming systems with the application of LOF in lowland rice and how to make rabbit urine LOF. Methods of activities were carried out through counseling and training related to LOF application in rice fields and makes use of rabbit urine LOF. The rice field plot was focused on the appropriate way of working and techniques in supporting rice production through the application of rabbit urine LOF. Counseling, training, demonstration plots and rabbit livestock introduction is successful even though not to all members of the farmer groups. The knowledge and skills of farmers have increased regarding rabbit livestock and processing of urine into liquid organic fertilizer and its application to lowland rice. The introduction of rabbit urine LOF in lowland rice cultivation has been responded positively by some members of farmer groups and farmers have understood the procedure for processing rabbit urine waste into liquid organic fertilizer and its application in rice plants.

Abstract

AbstrakPermasalahan di SDN Karangsalam, yaitu (1). Pihak sekolah memiliki komitmen menjadi sekolah adiwiyata, namun belum memiliki program pendukung, (2). Pihak sekolah prihatin dengan minimnya pengetahuan siswa terhadap ragam jenis sayur dan manfaatnya, (3). Pola konsumsi makanan harian siswa yang cenderung instan, minim sayur dan gizi tidak berimbang, dan (4). Sekolah berada di lingkungan cukup padat penduduk yang belum memanfaatkan lingkungan rumahnya untuk kegiatan budidaya tanaman sayuran. Kegiatan ini bertujuan menerapkan teknologi budidaya tanaman sayuran dengan sistem demonstrasi dan plot (demplot), melakukan transfer pengetahuan beragam jenis sayur dan manfaatnya, dan show off produk makanan berbahan sayuran. Metode yang dilaksanakan, yaitu demplot dan pelatihan budidaya tanaman sayuran, transfer pengetahuan tentang beragam jenis sayur dan manfaatnya, serta show off produk makanan berbahan sayuran. Hasilnya kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa terhadap budidaya sayuran dengan teknik vertikultur dari 0% menjadi 71%, meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa terhadap ragam jenis sayuran dari 0% menjadi 92%, meningkatkan kemampuan siswa menjawab dengan benar manfaat sayuran bagi kesehatan dari 0% menjadi 62%, meningkatkan ketertarikan siswa dalam budidaya tanaman sayuran dari 33% menjadi 46%, meningkatkan kesukaan siswa terhadap makanan berbahan sayuran dari 92% menjadi 100%, meningkatkan frekuensi harian konsumsi siswa terhadap makanan berbahan sayuran dari 42% menjadi 71%.Kata kunci: SDN Karangsalam, Pengabdian Kepada MasyarakatAbstractProblem in SDN Karangsalam: (1). This activity aimed to implement vegetable cultivation with demonstration and plots (demplot), transfer knowledge of vegetables type and their benefits, and show off vegetable-based food products. The methods were implemented: demplot and training in vegetable cultivation, transfer knowledge of vegetables type and their benefits, and show off vegetable-based food products. The result showed increasing: students' knowledge of verticulture techniques for vegetable cultivation from 0% to 71%, students' knowledge of vegetables type from 0% to 92%, students' ability for answering the benefits of vegetables from 0% to 62%, student interest in vegetable cultivation from 33% to 46%, students' preference for vegetable-based foods from 92% to 100%, the frequency of daily consumption of vegetable-based foods from 42% to 71%.Keywords: SDN Karangsalam, Community service

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakter morfologi dan hasil padi gogo potensi toleran kekeringan dan daya hasil tinggi yang ditanam pada lahan yang sudah ditanami rumput.Percobaan  dilakukan dengan menggunakan Rancangan petak terbagi (split split plot design) dengan tiga ulangan. Petak utama, merupakan petak yang ditanam rumput (rumput gajah/sereh) sebelumnya yaitu pada tahun pertama, terdiri atas:plot tanpa rumput, plot rumput gajah, plot rumput sereh.Anak petak pertama, pengelolaan rumput yaitu dipangkas dan dikendalikan dengan menggunakan herbisida kontak.Anak petak kedua, tiga varietas padi gogo yaitu varietas Kalimutu, Situ Patenggang dan Jatiluhur.Variable yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah dan luas daun, dan jumlah anakan diambil dari sample yang sama, pada saat fase pembungaan, hasil dan kandungan prolin pada saat fase pengisian biji. Hasil menunjukan bahwa bobot gabah per ha tinggi ditunjukan oleh varietas Situ Patenggang dan Jatiluhur masing-masing 2,66 t/ha dan 2,42 t/ha dibandingkan varietas Kalimutu (1,31 t/ha). Hasil tersebut didukung oleh jumlah daun, jumlah anakan, luas daun dan bobot gabah per rumpun tinggi namun rendah kandungan prolin. Abstract

The Ngudi Mratani Farmers Group in Piasa Kulon Village is one of the producers of healthy rice that is cultivated organically, but there are several obstacles in providing fertilizers, biopesticides and marketing the rice produced. The objectives of this activity are 1) providing technology transfer in organic rice cultivation by utilizing rabbit urinee as liquid organic fertilizer (POC) 2) Providing training on the manufacture of Local Micro Organisms (MOL) and biopesticides 3) providing assistance related to marketing organic rice. This activity was carried out in July - August 2017 by KKN-PPM students of Jenderal Soedirman University accompanied by a team of service providers from the Faculty of Agriculture as field supervisors. The method used is Rural Appraisal Participation (PRA), which is the active involvement of all parties involved in activities. The stages of the activity were direct field surveys, interviews, training discussions and mentoring on organic rice cultivation techniques, post-harvest handling and marketing. The results of this activity were an increase in farmer understanding by 35%, farmer skills in making MOL, POC rabbit urinee and vegetable pesticides to support organic rice production by 50%. The existence of attractive post-harvest handling and product packaging that increases the quality and selling power of the organic rice produced.

Abstract

Objective of the study was to know application of burned-rice husk under lower soil field capacity on yield and yield components. The pot study was done at wire house Faculty of Agriculture Jenderal Soedirman University. Randomized complete block design was applied with the factors of variety (Situ patenggang, Limboto, Towuti, Batutegi dan Aek sibundong) and burned-rice husk (0, 2, 4, 6 t/ha), and three times replication.  The result showed that application of burned-rie husk up to 6 t/ha could not improve yield and yield component at all varieties. Towuti and Aek sibundong varieties resulted the higher numbers of tiller and panicle, and weight of grain wth the values of 38,8 and 41,8; 26,31 and 27,71; 36,06 and 37,24 g, respectively. Aek sibundong had a highest value of 1000 seeds weight of 25,09 g. Batu tegi resulted the highest value on  panicle length and, number of grain per panicle and per pot of 23,62; 206,71 and  2540,58, respectively

Abstract

Effect of Pseudomonas fluorescens P60 on pathological and physiological quality and growth of rice IR 64 seedlings. The research objectives were (1) detection and identification of seed-borne pathogens of IR 64 rice, (2) testing Pseudomonas fluorescents P60 in inhibiting the in vitro growth of seed-borne pathogens colonies, (3) testing P. fluorescents P60 for pathological and physiological seed quality, and (4) testing P. fluorescents P60 on the growth of seedlings in the greenhouse. The results showed that some seed-borne pathogens can be found both on farmers&rsquo; IR 64 rice and factory&rsquo;s; they were Aspergillus flavus, Alternaria padwickii, Pseudomonas glumae, and P. syringae. Application of P. flourescens P60 was able to inhibit the in vitrogrowth of colonies of all seed-borne pathogens, except P. syringae. Related to pathological quality, the effect of P. flourescens P60 on percentage of seed-borne pathogens attack did not significantly different from that of benomil but smaller than distilled water. On the physiological quality of seeds, treatment of P. flourescens P60 has the same effect with benomil and distilled water, with germination rate was more than 80%. In the greenhouse study,treatment of seed immersion time in P. flourescens P60 suspension showed that the effect of immersion time as long as15 minutes and 25 minutes on seedling height, root length, and seedling dry weightdid not significantly different. were. However, 25 minutes immersion time resulted in fresh seedling weight and root dry weight higher than that of 15 minutes immersion time.
