Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of climate change (temperature, humidity, wind speed, rainfall, and rainy days) on environmental-based diseases (DHF and ARI) in Palu City in 2015-2020. This study uses a quantitative method with an ecological study design. The sampling technique used total sampling where the samples were all cases of DHF and ARI from the Palu City Health Office and climate data from the Mutiara Palu Meteorological Station from 2015-2020. Data analysis using multiple linear regression test. The results of the study for the incidence of DHF showed, partially temperature (0.384 > 0.05), wind speed (0.873 > 0.05), rainfall (0.868 > 0.05). 0.05) and rainy days (0.608 > 0.05) had no effect on the incidence of DHF because the significance value was greater than 0.05. Simultaneously the test results obtained are (0.628 > 0.05), meaning that there is no significant effect between climate change and the incidence of DHF in Palu City because the F test results show a significance value greater than 0.05. The incidence of ARI shows that part there is a significant effect of temperature and humidity on the incidence of ARI with the same significant value (0.00 < 0.05) and positive (+) pattern, and there is a significant effect of wind speed and rainfall on the incidence of ARI with the same significant value (0.00 < 0.05) but with a negative pattern. The conclusion is that there is a significant effect of climate change on the incidence of ARI.

The type of research used was quantitative, with an analytic epidemiological study design using a cross-sectional design. This research was carried out in 13 working areas of the Puskesmas in Palu City from January to March 2022. The population in this study were all suspected tuberculosis at 13 Community Public Health (in Indonesia: Puskesmas) in Palu City in 2021, recorded at the Tuberculosis Information System totaling 15,620 people using the slovin formula to obtain a sample of 100 and the sampling design used stratified random sampling. This study used the T-test with α=10%. The results show that most of the respondents had less knowledge of 69 respondents (69%), respondents had a low stigma of 70 respondents (70%), 73 respondents (73%) received adequate tuberculosis services, 19 respondents (19%) received good services, and 8 respondents received less services, with a percentage of 8%. A significant effect between knowledge of suspected tuberculosis (p = 0.000), stigma (p = 0.000), and tuberculosis services (p = 0.000) on the discovery of suspected tuberculosis during the COVID-19 pandemic in Palu City. It is recommended to increase tuberculosis tracking during the COVID-19 pandemic conditions and conduct training to improve and optimize the role of tuberculosis cadres in the working area of each Public Health Center

Abstract

Stunting in toddlers needs special attention because it can hamper children's physical and mental development. Based on a report from the Palu City Health Office in 2021, the number of stunted toddlers reached 8.00%. This study aimed to determine the factors associated with a decrease in the incidence of stunting in the working area of the Palu City Health Center (Puskesmas). This type of research was quantitative observational analytic with a cross-sectional study design. The population in this study were all mothers registered in the working area of the Pantoloan Health Center, Nosarara Health Center, and Tipo Health Center with an eligible sampling technique, then the sample in this study was 98 samples. Data was collected based on a questionnaire that would be analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis. This study's results indicated no relationship between the variable provision of basic immunization (p=0.906) to a decrease in the incidence of stunting in the working area of the Palu City Public Health Center. A relationship was identified between the time variable providing weaning food (p=0.039) and decreased stunting in the Public Health Center Palu City working area. There was a relationship between the variable support of health workers (p=0.012) to a decrease in the incidence of stunting in the working area of the Palu City Health Center. Strengthening health promotion performance in developing promotive and preventive programs is recommended, particularly in improving complete basic immunization programs

Abstract

To identify the determinants of risk for type 2 diabetes mellitus among the community at the Birobuli Community Health Center. Type of quantitative research with a case-control approach at a confidence level of 95%. The sample size was taken using the Slovin formula with a result of 76 people and a 1:1 ratio and using gender matching with a total sample of 152 people. Sampling was done using the purposive sampling technique. The data source used secondary data in the form of medical records and primary data in the form of interviews using questionnaires measuring physical activity, unhealthy eating patterns, and sleep quality with the criteria that a doctor diagnosed the respondent as suffering from Type 2 DM and not suffering from other types of Diabetes Mellitus (DM). Data analysis used the odds ratio test, the results showed that physical activity (OR=4.455 and CI=2.250-8.819), unhealthy eating patterns (OR=3.145 and CI=1.616-6.120), sleep quality (OR=5.444 and CI= 2,703 10,966), and dyslipidemia (OR=4,287 and CI=2,121-8,667) are determinants of the risk of Type 2 DM. It is suggested that health workers should improve health services at each Integrated Development Post (known as POSBINDU), an integrated monitoring and early detection activity for NCD risk factors (heart and blood vessel disease, diabetes, acute obstructive pulmonary disease, and cancer) as well as disorders due to accidents and acts of domestic violence which are managed by the community through integrated guidance, meanwhile, provide education on healthy lifestyles to overcome the incidence of DM

The purpose of this service is to carry out uric acid and hemoglobin screening in the community in the Palu city area as a post-disaster area. The benefit of this community service activity is that the community can find out the levels of uric acid and hemoglobin from the community so that they can take steps related to the results of the examination. The method used is screening in the form of uric acid and hemoglobin examinations, and also personal counselling in the form of presentations related to the results of the examination and also follow-up suggestions. Abstract

One of the health problems in developing countries, including Indonesia, is nutritional problems such as micronutrient deficiencies such as anemia. Anemia is a condition in the body where the blood's hemoglobin (Hb) level is lower. The prevalence of anemia in Indonesia is still quite high at 48.9%, with the proportion of anemia in the age group 15-24 years and 25-34 years, an increase in cases in adolescent girls, namely 37.1% in 2013 to 48.9% in 2018. Based on these problems, community service activities through anemia counseling activities and the provision of iron supplement tablets to young women are carried out to increase young women's knowledge regarding anemia. This activity was carried out at SMA Negeri 4 Palu with 34 participants consisting of students from class X and XI, using lecture and discussion methods using PowerPoint and leaflet media. The measurement of service results showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest groups, with the posttest scores being higher than the pretest scores and an increase in the average value from pretest to posttest scores. So, it can be concluded that there was an increase in knowledge of the participants after being given counseling. Achieving the goal of service is expected to increase understanding regarding the importance of educational efforts as an effort to prevent and overcome health problems through improving knowledge.
